While Microsoft has recently confirmed that it will “return to Los Angeles for our yearly showcase this summer,” it did not specify whether it would be as part of E3 2023.

Speaking to IGN last week, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said it was timing its showcase at a moment “convenient for press and even consumers,” suggesting it will be held roughly around the same time as E3 2023.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has not participated at an E3 since E3 2018.

Neither the Entertainment Software Association—the organization that runs E3—nor any of the three platform holders have commented on IGN’s report.

E3 2023 will run from June 13 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Read more here.
