Target tipped for PS5 restock next week — what you need to know

It’s been more than two weeks since the last Target PS5 restock, but the wait for the next one may soon be over, according to a reliable source.

YouTuber and full-time stock tracker Jake Randall is tipping Target for a PS5 restock that is expected to be held at some point this coming week. If the retailer does drop fresh stock, it’s almost guaranteed to happen on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. ET. Target has been restocking during this early morning window for over a year at this point.

If you’re still on the hunt for a PS5, then Target is definitely the retailer to keep an eye on right now. Randall has extremely reliable sources at Target, and has correctly called multiple restocks ahead of time in the past. While nothing is officially confirmed yet, all signs point to a PS5 restock at Target very soon.

Target PS5 restock (check stock)

There had been some hope that Target would hold a PS5 restock today (Friday, March 25), but that window has closed.  Randall suggests that this coming week is more likely as some locations are still expecting to receive another shipment of consoles at the start of the week.

The best thing about a Target restock is that the retailer never sells the PS5 in bundles — so you’ll be able to score a coveted console at its standard retail price of $499. Plus, Target is one of the few major retailers that hasn’t gated restocks behind a premium membership. Also, Target PS5 orders must be collected in store, which means you can pick up your console the same day you order it.

While we wait to see whether this Target drop materializes, make sure to bookmark our PS5 restock hub. This comprehensive guide is updated daily with the latest restock information as we get it. It won’t guarantee you a PS5, but it can certainly make the task of securing Sony’s in-demand gaming console a little easier.

How to buy a PS5 at Target

First, ensure you have an account set up with your payment and address details stored. This is a vital step if you want to secure a PS5 during a restock. Getting stock in your basket is only half the battle; you don’t want the console to sell out while you’re entering your details. Make sure it’s all pre-saved so you can check out in seconds.

Target is known for releasing stock in waves, typically going first with the PS5 standard edition and then following it up with a restock of the PS5 Digital edition. So even if you get on the site and the PS5 is already sold out, it’s worth sparing the extra time to see if you can catch a second wave.

Randall also suggests using alternative payment methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay or RedCard if possible. The advantage with these is that they use a separate payment portal which bypasses Target’s own servers that have in the past collapsed under the strain of thousands of people all trying to secure that coveted order confirmation email.

Target also has an app that can be used to try and secure a PS5. A good trick is to try to check out during a restock on both a desktop and a mobile device. It’s recommended that if you manage to add the PS5 to your cart on one, you switch over to the other to complete checkout. So long as you’re logged in it’ll keep track of the contents of your cart.

Finally, at checkout, you can edit your location to select a store that has PS5 in stock if your local branch is sold out. Occasionally, doing this might stop you from progressing further through the checkout process, but if you encounter this issue just clear your browser cookies and give it a second try.

Sony Direct PS5 restock sold out — where to find inventory next

Update: Sony is now sold out of consoles. Make sure to follow our PS5 restock hub for news on the next drop.

As of 6:00 p.m. ET, Sony has PS5 consoles available for the general public. You can get the PS5 for $499 via this link or the PS5 Digital for $399 via this link. This is the first time in months Sony has held an open restock for anyone. (No invite required).

Today’s Sony Direct PS5 restock is still underway. The official PlayStation retailer is holding an invite-only restock that will last through 7 p.m. ET, or until stock of the next-gen console runs out.

If the retailer has remaining stock after this period, an open restock for the general public may follow. However, this hasn’t happened for several months and not at all in 2022, so the odds of gamers without an invitation securing a console in this Sony Direct restock are unfortunately slim.

If you do have an invite you’ll be able to get the . News of this restock came via console stock tracker Wario64.

If you don’t have an invite, you can still register your interest for the chance to participate in future Sony Direct restocks. It’s likely too late to get access to today’s drop, but if you register now you’ll be considered for inclusion in the future. Also, make sure to check our PS5 restock hub for the latest updates across every major retailer.

Sony Direct PS5 restock

How to get invites from Sony Direct

Occasionally, Sony Direct has restocks for invited guests only. (The invites are sent out via e-mail.) Sony opened up registration to these events to the general public. Now anyone can sign up for invite-only Sony Direct PS5 restocks.

Alternatively, you’ll want to have an active Sony Direct account and make sure you have notifications set to “yes.” Creating a Sony Direct account is easy. You can sign up via this link here. Once you’ve set up an account, you’ll want to add your address and billing info. Having this info on file will make things easier should you manage to get a PS5 console in your cart.

To turn on notifications from Sony Direct, you’ll want to sign into your account, click on “My Profile,” and then click the “edit” button from your profile page. You’ll then be redirected to a new account settings page. From within that page, choose “notifications” from the left column and then make sure you opt-in to receive news and special offers from Sony.

Keep in mind this trick doesn’t guarantee you’ll get an invite in time for the next PS5 drop, but it should increase your chances for the next exclusive Sony Direct PS5 restock event.

How to get a PS5 if you didn’t receive an invite

Usually after an invite-only PS5 restock, Sony tends to open its virtual queue to the general public. However, that’s not always guaranteed. (There have been instances where the retailer has completely sold out.) If there are extra consoles, a restock for the general public will likely occur after the invite-only event wraps up, usually an hour or two after the start of the original drop. Of course, you can bookmark our page and we’ll keep you updated on the latest PS5 restock news from Sony Direct and all major U.S. retailers.

What to do once you’re in the queue

Once you’re on the virtual queue, you’ll be given an estimated wait time. All wait times vary, and there’s a good chance you’ll have “more than an hour” wait. If that’s the case, don’t despair. Your status can rapidly change and you may have a shorter wait time than estimated. For instance, after waiting 20 minutes on a previous PS5 restock event, our time was cut from “more than an hour” to just 15 minutes.

Additionally, you may be required to solve a captcha (a simple challenge/question to ensure you’re not a bot). It usually requires that you select a radio box. As a result, you’ll want to make sure your browser tab remains prominent, because if it’s not you might miss your captcha challenge and you could forfeit your place in line.

GameStop tipped for PS5 restock this week — date, time and everything we know

GameStop will reportedly be holding its next PS5 restock this week. It’s been well over a month since the gaming retailer last took fresh orders of the in-demand next-gen console, but that looks set to change. The retailer will have online stock on Tuesday, March 8 and an in-store restock on Friday, March 11 (both restocks are for members only).

News of this restock comes from Matt Swider of The Shortcut. Matt is one of the most trusted stock trackers in the game, with notoriously strong sources across major retailers. Multiple GameStop sources have confirmed to him that an in-store drop is just days away.

As is now standard with GameStop restocks, the retailer will only offer the console in a prebuilt bundle and you’ll need to be a PowerUp Reward Pro member in order to secure one. Swider has also provided information on what will be included in the package this time, and it’s good and bad news.

Friday’s bundle will reportedly cost $797 and includes a PS5 Disc console, Gran Turismo 7 (25th Anniversary Edition), Horizon Forbidden West (Limited Edition), PowerA PS5 DualSense Charging Station, PS4 HyperX Cloud Headset and a $50 PlayStation Network gift card.

We have pretty mixed feelings about this bundle. For starters, at almost $800 it’s a little more expensive than previous GameStop bundles which were generally closer to $700. We also don’t love that it includes a third-party controller charging dock instead of the official Sony one, plus the supplied headset is technically a PS4 accessory that is compatible with the PS5.

On the other hand, the package does at least include two new PS5 exclusive games. Although, including the more expensive special edition of each game is a little sly. At least GameStop always charges the combined retail price of the items within its bundles, so you won’t be getting price gouged.

We don’t currently know which locations will be participating in this restock, but we’re hoping that GameStop provides that information very soon. That said, you should expect a smaller restock than normal at most stores.

Swider has received intel that suggest the retailer is switching up the way it handles stock distribution. GameStop is apparently no longer allocating big quantities of stock to a handful of flagship locations, but is instead spreading its PS5 stock more evenly across its many stores. This means that the majority of GameStop locations will have between four and eight bundles for sale, which will surely be snapped up quickly.

This in-store restock will start from each individual store opening time (which could be as early as 8 a.m. local time) — but expect eager shoppers to start queuing before then. You’ll want to load up on coffee and head out early if you don’t want to be left empty-handed.

While some previous GameStop in-store restocks have been open to everyone, this latest restock event will be held exclusively for PowerUp Reward Pro members. Make sure to get signed up now ahead of time. If you’re not a Pro member, you will likely be denied the opportunity to purchase a console during the restock.

If you’d rather purchase your console online or don’t want to stretch your budget to cover a pricey GameStop bundle, be sure to check our PS5 restock hub for the latest updates. We can’t guarantee you a machine, but it’ll help make the job of tracking down a next-gen console much easier.

Xbox Series X consoles sell out after a huge restock at Amazon • Eurogamer.net

The online retail giant last restocked Microsoft’s next gen console on 4th January.

Those struggling to score an Xbox Series X in the UK flocked to Amazon today as the Microsoft console was finally back in stock.

Prior to today’s Xbox Series X restock, the online retail giant last restocked on 4th Jan 2022. The latest Xbox Series X drop went live just after 8am and remained in stock until late afternoon/ early evening. This was the longest time Microsoft’s next gen console had stayed in stock at Amazon – probably since launch. For those who have been patiently waiting for a console, it was an incredible opportunity to finally get one.

If you missed out on snapping up the console today, you can stay up to date with the latest Xbox Series X stock news via our Jelly Deals Twitter page and our Xbox Series X stock checker page.

An Xbox Series X costs £449.99 – that includes the Xbox Series X console and the new Xbox Wireless controller. Aside from all the cables and perhaps a free trial for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, no other extras will be included. Here’s the Digital Foundry review should you want to see how the console performs.

An Xbox Series X bundle was also in stock at Amazon today that included the console and a copy of Back 4 Blood for £473.08. Buying the game and console separately on Amazon totaled to the same price, and the game is available on GamePass- but for those planning to pick up a physical copy of the zombie-killing FPS anyway, this bundle was worth purchasing out of ease.

On this occasion, customers didn’t need to be a Prime member to be able to place an order.

If you were able to snag the Xbox Series X before it went out of stock on Amazon today, then huge congrats! You’re probably going to need some new games or a Game Pass subscription with your new console, along with some extra accessories like a second Xbox controller or a controller charging dock. You can find the best offers on all of these and more over on our dedicated Xbox deals page.

PS5 And Xbox Series X Restock Happening Today At 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET

Walmart is hosting a sales event for Walmart+ subscribers today, and both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be available. The consoles will be up for grabs starting at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. Those interested in picking up a PlayStation console will be able to choose from the PS5 and PS5 Digital.

We’ve been in a major PlayStation 5 restock drought in 2022. While the PS5 has always been hard to find, we were used to seeing multiple restocks at major retailers each week during the holiday season. Nowadays, it’s an “event” just to see a single restock in any given week.

It’s important to note that the event will not be available to those who sign up for a free 30-day trial. You have to be a paid Walmart+ subscriber. The membership costs $13 per month or $98 per year. Since most of Walmart’s restocks nowadays are limited to Walmart+ members, it’s not a bad idea to sign up for the subscription service. You’ll also get free shipping on all orders from Walmart. It’s essentially Walmart’s version of Amazon Prime.

Walmart confirms PS5 and Xbox Series X restock this week — date, time and how to get yours

Walmart has confirmed its first next-gen console restock of the month, and it looks like it’ll be a big one. The retailer announced that it’ll have both a PS5 restock and an Xbox Series X restock later this week. Whichever console you’re after, you won’t want to miss this drop.

Walmart has announced PS5 and Xbox Series X restock will be available on Thursday, February 24 at 12 p.m. ET. As is now standard with Walmart restocks, the drop is expected to last for at least an hour, with new inventory being released every 10 minutes.

There’s no need to speculate about this drop, as the information comes directly from the retailer itself. Over the weekend, Walmart’s product listings were updated with a note confirming the date and time of this restock. The information has also been further corroborated by reliable sources including Matt Swider of The Shortcut

These restocks will be held exclusively for Walmart Plus members. Walmart Plus membership costs $98 per year, although there’s also a $12.95/month option. There is also a free trial available, but you’ll only get access to these restocks if you’ve got a paid Walmart Plus subscription. (You can sign up at Walmart via this link).

Walmart restock event — tips and tricks

The first thing you’ll want to do is create a Walmart.com account if you don’t already have one. Enter your address and credit card info so that in the event you score a console, you can quickly check out. You’ll also want to know the correct landing pages for the PS5 at Walmart. (You’ll find the links above).

Once the consoles are available at Walmart you’ll have to act lightning fast to secure a console and purchase it. However, it’s worth noting that Walmart tends to release inventory every 10 to 15 minutes. So if you don’t score a console on your first try, keep trying. Generally speaking, Walmart restocks have lasted from 1 hour to as long as 3 hours. So it pays to stick around and keep trying.

Many have reported that adding the PS5 to a shopping list has helped them score a PS5. To do this, sign into your Walmart account and go to the PS5 product page at Walmart. Click the “add to list” icon underneath the console’s image. You’ll then be prompted to create a name for your wish list.

The next time Walmart has PS5 restock, you should be able to add the console to your cart via your wish list (instead of going to the product page and waiting for it to show up in stock.) Again, your mileage may vary with this tactic, but it’s worked in the past.

If you don’t want to sign up for Walmart Plus, don’t give up hope. We’re bound to see more restocks throughout the coming weeks.

Walmart+ PS5 & Xbox Series X Restock Confirmed for February 24

Walmart+ customers are getting another PS5 and Xbox Series X restock on February 24.

Console scarcity is sadly something gamers still have to face in 2022. This has been a problem since both consoles were released back in 2020.

Many logistical problems worldwide and chip shortages have led to a production that can not keep up with demand.

Experts in the area confirm that PS5 stock shortages will continue throughout 2022. This problem seems to apply to Xbox Series X as well.

This situation is reflected in restocks already, which have been scarce since mid-January.

Fortunately, the pace seems to be picking up with retailers like Walmart announcing an upcoming console restock.

Walmart Corp.

Walmart Plus PS5 & Xbox Series X Restock – February 24

Walmart confirmed it plans a PS5 and Xbox Series X Walmart+ member early access online restock on February 24 at 12 PM ET.

Just a previous Walmart+ restocks, only those with a membership will be able to get into the waiting queue of their consoles of preference.

Please note that Walmart+ free trial memberships will not get early access to this PS5 and Xbox Series X restock.

If you want to purchase a console in this drop, you can do so using the following links:

Walmart has been inactive from the restocks scene for a while. Its last restock was a very successful PS5 and Xbox Series X drop on January 13.

Due to this long time waiting, it is expected that this Walmart+ restock could be a pretty sizeable one.

Amazon just tipped for first PS5 restock of 2022 this week — here’s what we know

Amazon has yet to hold a PS5 restock in 2022, but that could change in the coming days.

While there has been no official word from the online retailer confirming an imminent PS5 restock, various sources are suggesting Amazon could take fresh orders of the in-demand next-gen console at some point this week. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Amazon over the next few days, so check back for updates.

Amazon PS5 restock (check stock)

Reliable stock tracking account @PS5StockUpdates has claimed that this Amazon drop will be the “main event” of the week. This could indicate there will be significant stock available during this restock. This would make sense as historically Amazon has held larger but less frequent drops compared to other retailers.

We don’t currently have any reports on the exact date and time of this restock. This is frustrating but not wholly unexpected. Amazon doesn’t generally follow a predictable restock pattern and seems to drop next-gen console stock at random. This makes pinning down the window of a potential Amazon PS5 restock very tricky.

In mid-2021, Amazon began holding restocks that required a Prime membership to access. Select restocks being held exclusively for Prime members is a trend we expect Amazon to continue in 2022, so it may be worth getting signed up below to ensure you have access to the next Amazon PS5 restock.

As we wait for more information on this Amazon drop, make sure to bookmark our PS5 restock hub. This guide contains all the buying information you need and is regularly updated with the latest restock information, updates, and speculation so you never miss a drop. We can’t guarantee it’ll get you a PS5 but it’ll certainly tip the odds in your favor.

How to get early access to Amazon PS5 restock

Getting early access to Amazon PS5 restocks is pretty simple: sign up for Amazon Prime. For $12.99 a month ($119 annually) you’ll get a range of benefits including free shipping and access to the Prime Video streaming service not to mention the all-important priority access to the next PS5 restock. You can sign up below, and there’s even a 30-day free trial of the service available so it won’t cost you anything.

How to buy a PS5 at Amazon

There isn’t a guaranteed formula for success when it comes to securing a PS5 during an Amazon restock, but there are a few things you can do to tip the odds in your favor.

Firstly, make sure you have an Amazon account set up ahead of time with your address information and payment details pre-saved. Getting stock in your basket is only half the battle, once you’ve managed that it’s a race to complete check out. If you’re stuck entering your card number and zip code, odds are the console will sell out while you’re typing away.

There is a slightly odd Amazon trick that has been proven to make checking out with a PS5 easier. By placing the console in your wish list ahead of time when it is restocked you can add to your cart from there. This allows you to bypass the listing page, which practically always crashes due to overwhelming traffic.

Using this trick you can typically get stock in your basket the minute the restock is live, and that gives you a pretty sizeable advantage over the people who are stuck trying to refresh the actual PS5 listing page in hopes of getting it to work.

Just make sure you have the PS5 in your wish list ahead of time, as you can still add it even when the console is sold out. Do this well before the restock happens in order to make use of this trick. Trying to add the console to your wish list during a stock drop will usually lead to the website spinning out an error message.

We tested this method ourselves during an Xbox Series X restock and can confirm that it does in fact work. We managed to get the Series X in our basket four times, whereas we couldn’t get the console in our basket once through the listing page as it kept crashing.

Also, make sure to keep our guide on PS5 restock bookmarked, as we’ll update it with any additional information on the latest Amazon PS5 restock the minute we get it.

GameStop PS5 restock expected this week — here’s what we know

It appears that GameStop is gearing up for its next PS5 restock. The in-store restock will occur at select locations on Friday, January 21.

Rumors of this drop have been circulating across the internet for awhile now, and while some sources did originally report it was scheduled for Wednesday (January 19), it now seems likely it will take place on Friday instead.

Assuming it follows the trend of previous GameStop PS5 restocks the console should become available shortly after 11 a.m. ET. We expect this drop to be exclusively for PowerUp Reward Pro members, and the console will only be available in bundles.

PS5 restock at GameStop (check stock)

An update on this potential restock has come from @Wario64, who has proved to be a seriously reliable source of next-gen stock information in the past. The stock tracker claims that GameStop will have PS5 bundles for its PowerUp Rewards members on January 21.

GameStop has been gating its drops behind its premium membership scheme since last summer, and there’s no indication this practice will end any time soon. Pro membership costs $15 annually, which could be a small price to pay if it helps you secure a PS5.

It should also be noted that GameStop always puts its allocation of the PS5 into bundles. These packages include items like an extra controller, physical games, and often some form of digital credit or a PlayStation Plus membership. GameStop always charges the combined retail price of the items within its bundles, so at least you won’t be getting price gouged.

If you’re unwilling to sign up for PowerUp Reward Pro membership to score a PS5 or just want the console on its own without any extras, then make sure to bookmark our PS5 restock hub. This comprehensive guide is updated daily with the latest stock information for every major retailer.

How to become a PowerUp Rewards Pro Member

In early June, GameStop announced that it’s changing the way it handles console restocks. It will give first dibs to its PowerUp Rewards Pro members. Although there’s a free tier, only Pro members will get early access to the restocks. Membership starts at $14.99 per year and includes perks like a Game Informer subscription, $5 reward coupons per month (total of $60/year), 10% extra trade credit on games/accessories, and a $5 welcome certificate. If you sign up today, you’ll have access to upcoming restocks.

GameStop restock — tips and tricks

It may be obvious, but you’ll want to have a GameStop account and be logged into your account when the restock begins. If you click the “add to cart” button and nothing happens, try refreshing the page.

Alternatively, you could clear your browser cookies and try to open the page via an incognito web browser. You might be asked to solve a captcha before adding the console to your cart. We don’t yet know if this restock will be opened up to the general public after the early access window.

What to do if you miss out

As with the previous GameStop PS5 restock events, these units will sell out fast. So if you missed out don’t worry. There will be other restock events in the future. Also, make sure to follow our restock coverage for up-to-the-minute news on the latest restocks. In the meantime, you can browse other retailer pages to see if they may have quietly added any new inventory.
