Leaker corroborates Apple Watch Series 7 coming in 45mm size

Earlier this week, an anonymous user identified as UnclePan shared on Weibo some details about the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 which, according to him, will be released in 41mm and 45mm. Now another leaker corroborates that same information with a sketchy photo showing a piece of an Apple Watch band with the “45mm” label on it.

The image comes from DuanRui, who has a mixed track record when it comes to leaks. The user shared on Twitter an image of what looks like the Leather Loop band for the Apple Watch. However, instead of “44mm,” this watch band is labeled “45mm.”

While this image could easily be a fake, there’s a reason to believe that it is in fact a watch band made for the next generation Apple Watch.

We’ve been hearing rumors for a while now about how Apple Watch Series 7 will have a completely new design with flat edges and updated displays. However, a recent rumor has suggested that Apple will slightly increase the size of the Apple Watch displays from 40mm and 44mm to 41mm and 45mm, respectively.

However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Apple Watch case will get bigger. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in June that the Apple Watch Series 7 display will have thinner bezels, which is in line with rumors of a slightly larger display. UnclePan also said that the watch bands from previous versions of the Apple Watch will still be compatible with the new Apple Watch Series 7 design.

Prior to the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple offered the Apple Watch in 38mm and 42mm versions. Even with the new design, the old watch bands remained compatible with Series 4 and later, so the same may be true this time with Series 7.

Apple is expected to introduce Apple Watch Series 7 along with the iPhone 13 lineup in September.

Leaker corroborates that LiDAR will remain exclusive to iPhone 13 Pro

Following a claim earlier today about the built-in camera of future Macs, leaker DylanDKT has now shared on Twitter some details about the next generation iPhone. According to him, the LiDAR scanner will remain exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro lineup, which means that the sensor will not be available on the less expensive models.

Early rumors about the iPhone 13 suggested that Apple wanted to implement the LiDAR scanner across the entire lineup this year, not just in the Pro models. However, the company is no longer expected to release the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini with a LiDAR scanner.

More recent reports had already suggested that LiDAR would not come to this year’s entry-level iPhone models, and Dylan corroborates those reports. In a new tweet on Sunday, the leaker stated that “LiDAR will only be coming to the pro iPhone models,” although he also confirmed that Apple considered including the sensor in all models at some point.

LiDAR will only be coming to the pro iPhone models. Earlier this year it seemed Apple wanted to release all iPhone 13/12S models with LiDAR but due to one reason or another, it won’t be happening this year.

It’s worth noting that DylanDKT correctly predicted details about unreleased Apple products in the past.

The LiDAR scanner was first introduced with the 2020 iPad Pro and then added to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. It uses Time-of-Flight technology to measure the distance between the sensor and objects so that the camera can capture depth with exact measurements. Apple uses LiDAR mainly to enhance the AR experience, but it also enables Portrait photos in Night Mode and other camera improvements.

Rumors suggest that Apple is also working on a better ultra-wide lens for the iPhone 13 Pro models. Both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro are expected to feature a similar design to the iPhone 12 with a new processor, smaller notch, and expanded 5G support. The new iPhones are likely to be introduced sometime between September and October.

GTA 6 Out in 2025 with Fortnite-Like Evolving Map, Leaker Claims

Grand Theft Auto 6. Almost eight years after the franchise’s fifth mainline entry, we’re still waiting on the follow-up. You can thank GTA Online for that in part, with developer Rockstar continuing to update and support the online behemoth through what is soon to be three console generations. That’s a very impressive feat, but fans who love the satirical take on America in a single player form have been left waiting for almost a decade. And according to claims from one leaker, which have been picked up by GameSpot, GTA 6 is still many years away. It reportedly won’t be out on PS5 until 2025.

The claim has been made by YouTuber Tom Henderson, who is known for leaking details surrounding the Call of Duty and Battlefield series. In his video on the topic, he speaks of information he has been handed via independent sources which, of course, won’t be named to protect their identity. As well as saying GTA 6 will be out in 2025, Henderson claims the game will be set in a modern version of Vice City. This is due in part to the next iteration of GTA Online, which Rockstar reportedly wants to have content created for without any era-based restrictions.

As for the map, Fortnite is referenced in relation to an evolving map that could change in between seasons. The current version of GTA Online has added new locations and areas in the past, but this sounds like an even bigger push into that type of content refreshment. Multiple playable characters is also a possibility for GTA 6.

So, should we trust these claims? If the game really is another four years away, we wouldn’t put too much stock in many of the reported features. Development can change on the fly, with mechanics dropped to push a game out faster. It’s fairly easy to say GTA 6’s online map will change throughout the course of its existence, because what multiplayer game doesn’t do that at this point? We think one thing’s for sure: GTA 6 is still years away.

Leaker says new Apple Silicon iMac will feature an even larger display, exceeding 27 inches

Renowned leaker l0vetodream said today that the upcoming iMac redesign will feature an even larger display than the current iMac lineup.

Apple currently sells iMacs in two sizes; a 21.5-inch model and a 27-inch model. The leaker suggests that the new iMac will feature a display that is Apple’s biggest yet, thereby exceeding 27 inches. Perhaps Apple is looking to match the Apple Pro Display XDR and create a 32-inch all-in-one machine?

The new iMac is expected to feature a radical redesign, as the current iMac’s industrial design dates back almost eight years with extremely large screen bezels and a beveled chassis.

The new iMac is expected to take design cues from the 2018 iPad Pro aesthetic with reduced bezels and flatter sides. In January, Bloomberg said the iMac will look similar to the Pro Display XDR.

We have heard persistent rumors that the small 21.5-inch iMac will get its screen upgraded to 24-inches as part of the redesign, resulting in a machine that is about the same physical size as the current iMac thanks to the assumed shrinking of display bezel. (Apple actually made 24-inch iMacs more than a decade ago, before the iMac switched to an aluminium enclosure).

l0vetodream’s tweet today suggests that the high-end iMac will also get a screen size increase, exceeding the current 27-inch size. Historically, 27-inches is as large as the iMac has ever been. However, the Apple Cinema Display was sold in a 30-inch size so that is a potential route here, as is matching the 32-inch screen found in the Pro Display XDR.

The new iMac lineup is expected to debut sometime in the next few months, featuring a next-generation Apple Silicon chip. We have already seen Apple discontinue the high end iMac Pro and stop selling many BTO-configurations of the 21.5-inch iMac, as it prepares for a product overhaul.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leaker Reveals Why We Haven’t Seen One Highly-Requested DLC Character

A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaker has revealed why we haven’t seen one of the most highly-requested DLC characters come to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game. Ahead of every Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character reveal, a few names start to make the rounds and trend on Twitter, such as Sora from Kingdom Hearts and Crash Bandicoot. Among these in-demand characters is Geno, one of the main characters in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Typically — unless your name is Waluigi — being a Nintendo character and in-demand is enough to get you in Super Smash Bros., but it hasn’t been enough for Geno. And according to the aforementioned leaker, there are a few reasons for this.

Speaking on Japanese forum 5ch, the anonymous leaker — who gained credibility by “leaking” Steve from Minecraft and Hero from Dragon Quest before they were announced — claimed that Nintendo is generally perplexed by the demand for the character.

Elaborating, the leaker claims Nintendo has heard fans loud and clear, but is confused because there appears to be an inconsequential amount of support for a remake of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or follow-up. Of course, Nintendo’s temperature check may be incorrect, depending on who you ask, but it’s what the leaker says is a topic of discussion at Nintendo when it comes to putting Geno in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Continuing, Nintendo is apparently trepidatious about Nintendo characters becoming Smash characters, or in other words, characters known just for being in Smash. If this is true, it more or less means that we won’t see Geno added until Super Mario RPG is revived in a major war, which looks unlikely at this point.

That said, as always, take everything here with a grain of salt. Not only is nothing here official, but even if it’s all 100 percent true, it’s also all subject to change.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available via the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch only. For more coverage on the best-selling and critically-acclaimed platform fighter from 2018 — including all of the latest news, rumors, and leaks — click here or check out the relevant links below:
