MLB rumors: Yankees release 2 veterans from minor-league deals

After veteran infielder Derek Dietrich opted out of his Yankees minor-league deal, the team released a pair of veterans at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Right-handed eliever Nick Goody and catcher Robinson Chirinos each were let go from their contracts Sunday, the Railriders said in an email.

Introducing Yankees Insider: Get exclusive news, behind-the-scenes observations and the ability to text message directly with beat writers

The Yankees didn’t call either player up to the majors this season.

They’ll hope to latch on to clubs that could give them quicker routes to the majors leagues.

Both Goody and Chirinos put up solid numbers at Triple-A.

Goody, who has six years of big-league experience, was 4-1 with a 2.86 ERA in 17 games. He had 31 strikeouts in 22 innings. Chirinos, a 37-year-old with nine years in the majors, was hitting .278 with three homers in 13 games. Chirinos broke his wrist in spring training and missed the start of the minor-league season.

Dietrich, an eight-year big leaguer, was hitting .215 in 36 games with the Railriders.

From the Yankees following Sunday night’s 4-2 win over the Mets:

The Yankees finished 2-4 on their rain-shortened six-game home stand…are still just 2-7 in their last nine games after winning seven of their previous nine games. Are 0-0-2 in two doubleheaders this season (split a doubleheader vs. Toronto on 5/27 at Yankee Stadium) and have won (two) or split (five) seven of their last nine doubleheaders since the start of 2020…are 4-0-3 in seven twin-bills vs. the Mets. Are 4-6 in Interleague play this season.

Grilling and outdoor deals

If your summer plans include hiking, camping and grilling, the time is right to pick up some new gear and save during the Independence Day holiday.

This CNET-tested and approved smokeless grill and fire pit combo is a cool 20% off — down to $225 (plus free shipping). It’s the BioLite wood and charcoal burning FirePit Plus and it doubles as a hibachi grill. Or it’s an easy hibachi grill that doubles as a fire pit — it’s up to you. I tested one in the spring and found that it excelled in both roles, landing it on my list of best portable grills for 2021.

BBQGuys.com

I’m a charcoal-grill man myself, but if you’re looking for a new gas grill this summer, you can put a $300 dent in the price of this big Nexgrill stainless steel grill from BBQGuys.com. A free grill cover is also included. You can save up to 60% on other BBQ items, and orders over $49 ship free.

July 4 mattress deals

Maybe it’s not the hot summer nights that are keeping you from a good night’s sleep but your mattress. Ready for an upgrade? Mattress buying is easier than you might think and doesn’t require a trip to a mattress store and awkwardly conversing with a salesperson. Skip the store and buy a mattress online. You can usually find a mattress sale no matter the time of year, but they really get good during holiday weekends, including July Fourth.

Layla

Save up to $200 and get two free pillows

Layla

Layla happens to make one of our favorite mattresses. For the Fourth of July, it’s discounting its mattresses by up to $200, plus throwing in two free Layla memory foam pillows. Free shipping and no-contact delivery is included.

July 4 tech deals

Appliance sales are nearly as widespread over the Fourth of July as fireworks. You’ll find large appliances on sale at Best Buy and Samsung, and you can also save on computers and PC hardware this weekend.

Garmin

Besides tracking activity and unlocking fun games upon completion, this Garmin connects to an app that enables parents to assign chores and dole out virtual rewards once they’re finished, and set timers for things like homework, brushing teeth and bedtime. The Vívofit Jr. has a one-year battery life and comes in three fun kid-friendly colors at this sale price.

HP

This deeply discounted desktop from HP serves up tons of memory, a huge solid-state drive and Radeon RX 580 graphics to handle both work and play. It’s less than half its usual cost and features a ninth-gen Core i7 CPU, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB of storage and an older GPU that should still let you play casual games at a good clip. You’ll also find discounts on laptops, monitors and more during HP’s Fourth of July sale.

July 4 kitchen deals

Independence Day weekend is a good time to save on cookware and the ingredients you’ll cook in it, as well as the wine you’ll sip while cooking with your new cookware.

Proclamation

This American-made, stainless-steel cook set features two pans — a seven-quart stainless steel pot and 12-inch skillet — and a lid that matches both. You can also use the skillet as a lid on the pot to create a Dutch oven. Clever and space-saving! And $50 off for July 4, with the discount applied when you add it to your cart.

July 4 video game deals

June’s E3 show gave gaming fans a lot to look forward to — and some fresh new gaming deals. Here are some of the best we’ve found for the PS4 and PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC platforms.

Lori Grunin/CNET

If you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you now have access to Xbox Cloud Gaming on a wider variety of platforms, including Android and iPhone. This streaming version of Xbox’s subscription gaming library still has plenty of kinks — you’ll need a high-speed connection, and prepare yourself for some control lag — but anyone looking to play serious games like Doom Eternal on their phone will appreciate real thumbsticks, triggers and buttons like those found on the Kishi. And now the Android version is still at its lowest price to date (a holdover from Prime Day).

Nintendo Switch deals: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is $10 off

Ars Technica

Today’s Dealmaster includes a nifty $10 discount for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, bringing the Switch game down to $50 at Amazon and Best Buy. This is the first significant deal we’ve seen on the 3D platformer, which only launched in February.

For the unfamiliar, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury contains two separate games. The first is the latest in Nintendo’s long line of excellent Wii U games it has touched up and re-released for the Switch’s wider audience. As our review notes, it remains a charming and inventive platformer that straddles the line between the free-form movement of 3D Mario games and the more linear level design of the series’ 2D origins. It also supports drop-in, drop-out co-op with up to four players.
Bowser’s Fury, meanwhile, is an all-new, roughly four-hour expansion of sorts that takes the feel of 3D World and applies it to an open-world environment, wherein Mario can hop from island to island and complete different platforming challenges almost at will. While our review found it to get somewhat repetitive over time, the game is fresh and perhaps a peek at where the franchise may be headed going forward.

If you have no interest in more Mario, though, our deals roundup also has offers on Amazon Fire and Echo devices, a recommended MagSafe charger for Apple devices, LG OLED TVs, Beats headphones, and much more. You can take a look at the full rundown below.

Chipotle to give away free burritos and Bitcoin for National Burrito Day through interactive game, “Burritos or Bitcoin.”

USA TODAY

This is not a joke: National Burrito Day and April Fools’ Day fall on the same day this year.

The day of pranks and burrito deals is Thursday and while Mexican food chains aren’t exactly going the whole enchilada, the day hasn’t been canceled like other food days during the COVID-19 pandemic, including Free Cone Day and 7-Eleven’s Free Slurpee Day.

Burrito Day is held annually on the first Thursday of April.

Thursday also is the first day of IHOP’s revamped National Pancake Day promotion for those who joined the chain’s email club by March 31. Throughout April, members get a free short stack of pancakes.

NBA trade deadline: Joel Embiid, Draymond Green, other players react to the flurry of deals

USATSI

On Thursday the NBA trade deadline for the 2020-21 season came and many teams begin posturing for their potential playoff runs or rebuilding efforts. Entering the day, some of the biggest names that were expected to be moved were Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon.

Leading up to the trade deadline, Lowry was easily the biggest name available and teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers were the top suitors. In a surprising turn of events, the Raptors actually chose to hang onto Lowry rather than make a deal.

The Sixers ended up bowing out of the race earlier in the day and chose to trade for guard George Hill. Philadelphia acquired the veteran point guard in a three-way trade that sent center Tony Bradley, guard Terrance Ferguson, and a pair of second round picks (2025 & 2026) to the Oklahoma City Thunder. It ended up being a three-team deal where the New York Knicks received Ferguson and Austin Rivers went to the Thunder.

The Magic were arguably the busiest team on Thursday as the team traded Gordon, Evan Fournier and All-Star Nikola Vucevic in three separate deals. The Magic shipped Vucevic and Al-Farooq Aminu to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr., and two first round picks. In addition, Orlando shipped Gordon to the Denver Nuggets for Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, and a first round pick while also trading Fournier to the Boston Celtics for a pair of second round picks.

While the Heat didn’t add Lowry at the trade deadline, the team did add to their impressive backcourt with the acquisition of Victor Oladipo in a trade with the Houston Rockets. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Heat sent Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, and a draft pick swap to the Rockets in the deal.

Here’s a look at how some NBA players reacted to the moves on Twitter.

Aaron Gordon trade

Nikola Vucevic trade

Evan Fournier trade

  • Fourner’s nickname is “Never Google” because he shares his last name with a disease called fournier gangrene, which involves the soft tissue of the male genitalia.
  • Rondo was part of the Clippers-Hawks trade involving Lou Williams who infamously had to go back into quarantine in the Orlando bubble last summer after going out to a gentleman’s club for chicken wings while attending a family function in Atlanta.

George Hill trade

Marquese Chriss trade

  • In one of the more minor moves, the Warriors traded forward/center Marquese Chriss to the San Antonio Spurs. When reporting the trade, Chriss’ first name and the newest Spur made sure to correct him.

All the deals, rumors, reports in one place

We are less than 24 hours away from the NBA trade deadline, and the rumors are flying around as contending and playoff-bound teams look to solidify their rosters and fill holes, while the few sellers this season look to send out veterans and get picks and players that can help them in the long run. We will have links to all the trades here as well.

When is the Trade Deadline? Thursday, March 25, at 3 p.m. Eastern. Teams must have their trades submitted by the league at that time. It can take an hour or more for any final trades submitted right at the deadline to get approved by the league and be leaked to the public.

Here are all the latest NBA trade deadline rumors and deals.

TRADE: Pistons to trade Delon Wright to Kings for Corey Joseph and picks

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN broke the news, here’s how it shakes out:
Detroit gets: Corey Joseph, the Lakers 2021 second-round pick, Detroit’s 2024 second-round pick.
Sacramento gets: Delon Wright

Analysis: Sacramento turns out to be buyers, not sellers, at the deadline as reports are they want to make a play-in/playoff push over the final months of the season. The Kings add some quality guard depth with Wright, who is averaging 10.5 points and 5.1 assists a game, and more importantly is shooting 35.6% from 3-point range. Detroit picks up a third second-round pick in the 2021 draft. Joseph could be a mentor to Killian Hayes (both De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Halliburton praised Joseph), and if they don’t want to keep Joseph around he is only guaranteed $2.4 million for next season.

March 24, 10:45 p.m.: Pacers are not trading Malcolm Brogdon

The Indiana Pacers may have tested the market for Malcolm Brogdon, just to see what they could get if he were available, but after looking at the market, Indiana has decided not to trade Brogdon, reports J. Michael at the Indy Star. It always seemed unlikely a deal would get done, although don’t be shocked if it is revisited this offseason.

March 24, 8 p.m.: Andre Drummond may be headed to Knicks, not Lakers

While the Cavaliers will drag this out through the trade deadline just to be sure, Andre Drummond will be bought out soon after and become a free agent. It has been assumed for a while now that Drummond — after being on a series of uninspiring teams in Detroit and Cleveland — would sign with LeBron and the Lakers to be part of an expected deep playoff run. However, the Knicks have become a “serious potential destination” for Drummond, reports Kevin O’Conner of The Ringer.

In New York, Drummond would likely start and split time with Mitchell Robinson, that rotation would continue into the playoffs. Also, the Knicks have a lot of cap space and could sign him to a new contract next offseason (there are rumors of a four-year, $60 million offer, which would be more than most would offer him). With the Lakers, Drummond’s playoff role would likely shrink the deeper the team went into the playoffs — Anthony Davis will get more time at the five as the Lakers get into the later rounds — and Los Angeles will not have the cap space to offer much of a contract next season. It comes down to what Drummond prioritizes (and for a lot of players it is not always rings).

March 24, 7:15 p.m.: Minnesota still in mix for Aaron Gordon… if he gets traded at all

From earliest rumors about him being on the move, Minnesota has been one of the more relentless teams in trying to trade for Aaron Gordon. Boston is now the frontrunner to land his services and other teams — such as Houston, Denver, and Dallas — have been in the mix, but Minnesota has always been there. They are still are, reports Marc Stein of the New York Times. How good a D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, Gordon, Karl-Anthony Towns core can be is up for debate (that seems a defensive disaster), but the Timberwolves are in the mix.

Yesterday, Gordon talked about his frustration leading to a trade request to the Magic, but now he is having second thoughts and may want to stay in Orlando after all.

Houston’s Victor Oladipo sitting out tonight for personal reasons

The Rockets have been trying to trade Victor Oladipo but finding a lukewarm (at best) market for the services of the soon-to-be free agent guard. In the sign trade talks are still moving forward, Oladipo is sitting out the night before the trade deadline (no reason to risk injury). The Rockets are still in talks with several teams, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Contending teams turning their eyes to JaVale McGee

JaVale McGee has been “plan B” for several teams looking for a big man, and with the deadline approaching more teams are starting to talk in detail with the Cavaliers about a deal, reports Shams Charania at The Athletic. Expect McGee to be traded before the deadline, although where is still very much up in the air.

March 24, 2:45 p.m.: Lakers possible Kyle Lowry destination?

This would be an unexpected blockbuster: Adrian Wojnarowski said “don’t rule out the Lakers trading for Lowry” during ESPN’s Trade Deadline Show.

It’s really difficult to see how this trade comes together. Lowry is making $30 million this season and the Lakers are bumping up against the hard cap. In recent days, sources have told NBC Sports it appears the Lakers would entertain trading Dennis Schroder, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, or Montrezl Harrell for the right deal. Lowry would be it, and the money works if the Lakers send Schroder, KCP, and their 2027 first-round pick to the Raptors. Toronto, however, might rather have Talen Horton-Tucker than the pick (the Lakers have shot down teams that have asked about Horton-Tucker so far). This deal seems a longshot, but it’s interesting.

March 24, 1:30 p.m.: Lonzo Ball to the Bulls? Probably not.

Lonzo Ball has been linked to the Chicago Bulls as a trade target for a while, and that has picked up some around the deadline, but an actual deal seems unlikely. First, league sources have told NBC Sports for a while that there are some Ball backers in the New Orleans front office and to pry him away would require a first-round pick, which is likely more than the Bulls would surrender. Second, the Bulls aren’t the only team questioning if they want to pay Ball starting point guard money next season and for a few years after. Ball may be traded by the deadline, but don’t bet on Chicago as a landing spot.

Boston, Orlando still talking Aaron Gordon deal — now without Marcus Smart

Not only would Aaron Gordon provide another shot creator for the Celtics, but he could also return them to a “we switch everything” defense, which is how the Celtics have looked best under Brad Stevens. But to do that, Boston needs to keep Marcus Smart. That’s the latest buzz, the sides are talking non-Smart trades.

March 24, 11:30 a.m.: Add Houston to mix of serious Aaron Gordon suitors

Orlando is going to trade Aaron Gordon before the deadline — as he requested — and they are working hard to create a bidding war (why do you think there are all the leaks about a potential destination). The latest leak (via Zach Lowe at ESPN) is that the Houston Rockets have had serious talks with Orlando about a possible Gordon trade, one that would be heavy on draft picks. Denver also is interested but now showing the desperation of other suitors, reports Sam Amick at The Athletic. Boston remains the frontrunner to make a deal for Gordon.

John Collins more likely to remain in Atlanta than be traded

The Hawks have shopped athletic big man John Collins around, with Minnesota, Charlotte, and a number of other teams interested. But Collins made a plea Tuesday to stay with the Hawks, Atlanta has kept its price high, and other teams are backing off, reports Zach Lowe at ESPN. Collins doesn’t defend well enough to be a five, and the teams interested in him as a four know they can try to poach him this summer with a max or near-max offer for the restricted free agent. Atlanta would likely match that and the sides would talk sign-and-trade, but that route seems more likely now than a deadline deal.

March 24, 8 a.m.: Lakers not willing to part with Talen Horton-Tucker in trade

With LeBron James out with a sprained ankle and Anthony Davis still sidelined with his Achilles tendon/calf strain issue, the Lakers have dropped three straight. They could use some short-term help at the trade deadline (long-term, they will be fine if those two get healthy before the playoffs, as expected). The problem is teams calling the Lakers are asking for promising young wing Talen Horton-Tucker and GM Rob Pelinka is refusing to put him in deals, reports Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

The Lakers likely will land Andre Drummond on the buyout market, but that may be their only move if Pelinka will not part with THT.

March 23, 10:30 p.m.: Toronto talking Kyle Lowry, Norman Powell trades with multiple teams

We’ve known for a while that Kyle Lowry trade talks had heated up again. Philadelphia wants to bring him back home and pair him with Joel Embiid (once the big man gets healthy), while rumors say Lowry prefers to partner with his friend Jimmy Butler on a Miami team that went to the Finals a year ago. Those talks continue to be on the front burner, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, but neither the Heat nor 76ers are giving Toronto everything it is asking for. There is a reported divide in the Toronto front office about whether to trade the franchise icon, which is why it will ultimately come down to what Lowry himself wants.

Powell would be a fantastic pickup, he has blossomed this season. Powell is averaging 22.8 points a game while shooting 44.6% from three since moving into the starting lineup, and he could help a lot of teams. There are reportedly a dozen teams at least kicking the tires on a Powell trade. He’s also a free agent this offseason and is going to get paid like a starter wherever he lands (Powell has a player option for $11.6 million but he is not going to pick that up and will hit the open market).

March 23, 8 p.m.: Raptors demanding Herro from Heat in any Lowry trade

The buzz has been growing that Kyle Lowry would rather head to sunny Miami and team up with Jimmy Butler rather than go home to Philadelphia. According to multiple reports, including Michael Grange of Sportsnet in Canada, the sticking point is Tyler Herro — the Raptors want him and the Heat don’t want to give him up. (Either Kelly Olynyk or Goran Dragic also have to be in the trade, or both if a couple Raptors players head from Tampa to Miami.)

Lowry is a free agent after this season and is reportedly discussing terms for his next contract with the Sixers, Heat and the Raptors.

Denver looking for power forward help, discussing Aaron Gordon, Harrison Barnes

Denver quietly has been very active heading into the trade deadline — a team that feels it is one piece away is looking for that potential piece. Specifically, they are looking for help at the four and are talking to Orlando about Aaron Gordon (even if Boston is the frontrunner for him) and Sacramento about Harrison Barnes, reports Mike Singer at the Denver Post.

Bulls listening to trade offers for Lauri Markkanen

Lauri Markkanen will be a restricted free agent this summer and the Bulls likely don’t want to pay him what someone on the market will offer, so they are listening to trade offers, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic. Markkanen is averaging 17.7 points, shooting 39.6% from three, and adds 6 rebounds per game. Health concerns surround Markkanen (he missed more than 30 games the past two seasons, and has played just 22 this season), among other questions about his game.

Buyout buzz: Andre Drummond likely headed to Lakers, LaMarcus Aldridge to Heat

The Cavaliers and Spurs are continuing to look for trades for their good-but-over-priced big men, however, it is improbable they find a deal for Andre Drummond (making $28.7 million) or LaMarcus Aldridge ($24 million). Most likely, both will be bought out. Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that Drummond is likely going to sign with the Lakers (Drummond is an upgrade over the current version of Marc Gasol), and Aldridge is headed to Miami (a team desperately in need of help at the four and backup five).

Houston will trade Victor Oladipo but Heat, Knicks staying away

Victor Oladipo has long made it clear he wants to be in Miami, but as the Rockets have looked to trade him, the Heat have had limited interest (they could just sign him this summer as a free agent), and the same is true with the Knicks, another team Oladipo has been linked to.

Oladipo almost certainly will be traded before the deadline. He is averaging 20.8 points a game this season but is inefficient (50.8 true shooting percentage in Houston, well below the 57 league average) and not the All-NBA player he was before his injury.

Boston Celtics reportedly frontrunners to land Aaron Gordon

Forward Aaron Goron has requested a trade out of Orlando, and now comes word from multiple sources that Boston is the frontrunner to land him and maybe Evan Fournier. That would likely mean giving up Celtics’ fan favorite Marcus Smart — their best point-of-attack defender —   but you’ve got to give up something to get something.

Nintendo Switch deals: Get a $20 gift card with new Switch Lite

Ars Technica

Today’s Dealmaster is headlined by a notable deal on the Nintendo Switch Lite. As of this writing, those who purchase Nintendo’s portable game console at its usual MSRP of $199 can receive another $20 in-store credit at no extra cost.

At GameStop and Best Buy, this comes in the form of an e-gift card that will be emailed to you after your purchase. At Amazon, you’ll have to use the code “8RLOZI4Z5INC” to redeem a $20 promotional credit, either at checkout or through a drop-down on the Switch Lite’s product page. Amazon will then apply the credit to your account within seven days. Just note that Amazon’s terms and conditions say the credit will expire 60 days after it’s been applied, so you’ll want to spend it shortly after taking advantage of the deal. Either way, this is a good opportunity for those who have been interested in the console to pick up a nifty bonus along the way, as traditional discounts on the Switch Lite have been exceedingly rare since the device launched in late 2019.

As a refresher, the Switch Lite is the lighter and more portable version of Nintendo’s ultrapopular game machine. It offers a 5.5-inch display compared to the standard Switch’s 6.2-inch panel and weighs about 30 percent less. The main functional difference is that it’s an entirely portable machine—its “Joy-Con” controllers aren’t detachable, it doesn’t have a kickstand or vibration motor, and it can’t be docked up to a TV or monitor. The smaller size means it loses a little bit of battery life compared to the latest model of the normal Switch, too—about 3-7 hours here, compared to 4.5-9 hours on the bigger model. But the rest of its internal hardware is virtually identical to the regular Switch, meaning it can play the same library of games with no drop in performance (games that require a detached Joy-Con to be played notwithstanding).

Beyond that, the Lite’s display has the same 720p resolution as before, it adds a genuine d-pad (which is far more comfortable), and its face buttons are softer and less noisy. Most notably, the whole thing runs $100 cheaper than the larger model. All told, Ars’ Senior Gaming Editor Kyle Orland called the Switch Lite the “best portable system Nintendo has ever made” in our launch review, so if you don’t plan on using the Switch on your TV, want to save some cash, and aren’t waiting to see what Nintendo’s rumored “Switch Pro” model will look like, it’s a worthwhile purchase.

If you aren’t looking to buy a new Switch, though, we also have deals on our top pick among wireless noise-canceling headphones, excellent indoor security cameras and gaming headsets for those on a budget, Roku’s latest high-end media streamer, Lego kits, and much more. You can take a look at our full roundup below.

As you probably know, May 4 is now widely referred to as May the Fourth, a play on Star Wars’ famous saying, “May the Force be with you.” March 10 has evolved into the Nintendo-centric Mario Day, because “Mar10.” And let’s not forget the best day in the whole wide world: March 14, otherwise known as Pi Day because of the eponymous mathematical constant that begins with “3.14.”

Wait, we’re celebrating math this weekend? No, food: Say it out loud and it becomes “Pie Day.” Hence an abundance of deals and promotions centered on pizzas and pies. Below I’ve rounded up some of my favorites, as I do every year, though this list is by no means complete. There may be local stores and restaurants offering discounts and giveaways as well, so check in with your nearby pizza joints, bakeries and the like.

Pi Day pizza deals

What’s better than pizza? Nothing. It’s the perfect food. You can even make it healthy(ish) if you’re weird and like to load it up with veggies. (Actually, I typically opt for light cheese and extra sauce, so I may be the weird one.) Here are the best Pi Day pizza deals I’ve found:

7-Eleven: Participating stores will be offering up large pizzas — cheese, pepperoni and “extreme meat” varieties — for $3.14 each. You can get this in-store or via the 7-Eleven app. 7-Eleven will also donate one meal to Feeding America for every whole pizza purchased on Pi Day.

Blaze Pizza: As in Pi Days past, the chain is offering any regular-size pizza for $3.14. You’ll need to download the Blaze Pizza app, create an account and access the deal in the Rewards section.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse: From now through Sunday, you can get half off a large pizza for takeout or delivery with the promo code HALFOFF.

Hungry Howie’s: Between March 13 and 16, you can get a $3.14 medium one-topping pizza with the purchase of Howie Bread.

Marco’s Pizza: Buy any large pizza at menu price and get a second one (of equal or lesser value) for only $3.14. Use promo code code PIDAY.

Papa John’s: Order one large pizza, get a second for $3.14.

Save A Lot: If you have one of these grocery stores nearby, stop in on March 14 for a Mantia frozen pizza for $3.14.

Your Pie: Get a 10-inch pizza for $3.14 off when you install the Your Pie Rewards app and redeem the Pi Day offer.

Other Pi Day deals

Fresh Market’s pies (apple, cherry and chicken) will be $3.14 off for Pi Day.

Fresh Market

Turns out there are other kinds of pies: fruit, chicken pot and so on. (Also: smoothies?) These are some notable deals on them:

Boston Market: Buy one pot pie and a drink, get a second pot pie free. Also known as a BOGO, this deal requires you to use the Boston Market app. It’s good only on Pi Day.

The Fresh Market: On March 14, you can save $3.14 on the store’s 9-inch apple and cherry pies and chicken pot pies.

Jamba Juice: It’s not a pizza or a pie, but from March 12-14, My Jamba Rewards members can get one small smoothie free with the purchase of a large one.

Have you found any other Pi Day deals worth mentioning? Mention them in the comments!

Save $300 on the Hisense 75-inch Class 4K Ultra HD LED Roku Smart TV. (Photo: Walmart)

On sale for $698 (was $998), the Hisense 4K TV is undeniably sleek—with a near edge-to-edge and massive 75-inch display (more picture, less frame). The 4K Ultra HD resolution at 2160p essentially gets you a movie theater-like experience at home, with colors that pop.

Meanwhile, the built-in Roku streamer gives you instant access to thousands of video streaming channels, including Netflix, Apple TV, YouTube, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu and more. In fact, the Roku platform has more streaming channels available compared to Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV. It also has smart home features via Roku for hands-free navigation and easier voice search. And Walmart shoppers love the brilliant picture and say it’s even better than Samsung.

“The best 4K LED TV , I just have upgraded from a 55-inch Samsung LED and this Hisense 75-inch is way better,” raved a happy five-star reviewer. “It has the best picture quality, color and brightness, way way better than my Samsung TV, also the sound system is great, so I can’t complain…”

Save half on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for Xbox One. (Photo: Walmart)

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. Now he must complete his Jedi training and master his lightsaber, while the Galactic Empire tries to hunt him down.

Although the award-winning title brings a lot of new gameplay and Force abilities that might be tough to master, it’s just flat-out fun to play. Right now, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is on sale for $40—nearly 35 percent off—at Walmart.

“I’m 45 never played games, but picked up this Star Wars game on Xbox One X,” shared a delighted gamer. “Helps me de-stress after 12 hours in a medical facility. This is pure awesome. It’s one of the best smart home hubs out there and a great way to modernize your house with up-to-the-minute news and weather updates, smart voice commands, music and more. It even doubles as a digital photo frame for all your photos on your smartphone.

“I LOVE this item! I have two of them, one in the master bedroom and one in our kitchen,” raved a delighted Walmart shopper. “The nest in our bedroom functions more as an alarm clock and sleep aide however we still use it to directly control all the rest of our devices in our home late at night or early in the morning (lights, TVs, and our google phones). The nest in our kitchen I use for just about anything and so does everyone else in our home. I mainly ask it questions when I’m cooking, for recipes, cooking temps, cook times, and shelf life of products. It comes in handy too when we need our scheduled events for the day or commutes to work as we’re heading out the door…”

Vacuum

Save more than half on the Shark ION Robot Vacuum RV750. (Photo: Walmart)

On sale for $149 (was $299), the Shark ION Robot Vacuum RV750 is designed to tackle all sorts of household surfaces, unlike other devices that just suck up dirt and grime and ‘get stuck’ against a wall or under furniture. We consider it the jack-of-all-trades of floor cleaning.

This smart little guy uses a navigation system to map your home’s floor landscape, so it doesn’t bump into walls, scratch up furniture or plummet down stairs. With up to 90 minutes of battery life per charge, it can sweep up your hardwood floors and then switch to carpets and tiles at a moment’s notice, plus it can also be controlled and scheduled via its smartphone app or Alexa.

“So far so great! I really like this little machine and it does a wonderful job cleaning,” raved a five-star reviewer. “It comes around so many times that it makes it hard to leave anything behind. It’s pleasantly quiet and was easy to set up. So glad I went with this product and not the competitors. Worth every penny. I just don’t know why I didn’t buy it sooner!”
