Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie and more stars who’ve changed their ink after breakups

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Forgetting their exes: it looks like some ink and relationships may not last forever.

Four days after Sylvester Stallone’s wife Jennifer Flavin filed for divorce, the “Rocky” star covered up a large tattoo – a tribute to his partner – with an illustration of his bullmastiff, Butkus. Meanwhile, after Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton split in 2002, the actress removed his name from her upper left arm, but kept the dragon that was beneath it.

Here is a look at some Hollywood stars who have covered up their tattoos following a breakup.

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone is the most recent A-list celebrity to cover up a tattoo dedicated to an ex. Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, filed for divorce in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Aug. 19 after 25 years of marriage.

Four days later, it was revealed that the “Rocky” star, 76, had covered the large image of Flavin’s face on his bicep with an illustration of his bullmastiff, Butkus. His late pet starred alongside him in the iconic “Rocky” film.

The news of Stallone’s new ink surfaced before his and Flavin’s divorce made headlines, and a publicist for Stallone told the Daily Mail that the tattoo coverup did not pertain to marital issues. Stallone “intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife Jennifer however the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable,” his publicist told the outlet.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Stallone addressed the divorce news. “I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues,” the statement read.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie famously removed Billy Bob Thornton’s name from her left arm following their split in 2002. The tattoo design featured a dragon below his name, which the actress originally decided to keep. Later, she changed the tattoo on her upper left arm completely.

The pair first met in 1999 on the set of “Pushing Tin” and married the following year. In 2003, the couple separated.

At the time, Thornton and Jolie were among the most famous Hollywood couples that put their PDA front and center. During the red carpet premiere of “Gone in 60 Seconds,” the couple could not keep their hands off each other.

They shocked the world when they debuted necklaces that contained a vial of blood from one another. During the HFPA in Conversation podcast episode that aired in 2018, Thornton addressed the blood necklaces.

“The necklaces were a very simple thing, ‘Hey let’s poke our fingers with a pen and smear a little blood on there and when we’re away from each other we’ll wear the necklace,’” he shared. “It was that easy. But by the time it came out in the press it sounded like we were wearing a bucket of blood around our necks.”

Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson has dedicated several tattoos to past flames. When he was in a relationship with Ariana Grande, the “Saturday Night Live” star got her “Dangerous Woman” album cover tattooed behind his ear.

Following their split, he reshaped the tribute to Grande into a heart. In his most recent relationship with Kim Kardashian, the comedian showed his love to the SKIMS founder in a more dramatic way.

Davidson got Kardashian’s first name branded onto his chest. He also showed support to the reality star’s law career by getting “my girl is a lawyer” tattooed on him. The couple split after nine months of dating in August, and it’s unclear if Davidson will cover up his art dedicated to Kardashian.

Johnny Depp

One of Johnny Depp’s most talked about relationships was with his fellow “Scissorhands” co-star Winona Ryder. The couple dated in 1989 and after five months, the pair became engaged. Depp and Ryder split in 1993.

During their relationship, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star had the words “Winona Forever” tattooed on his upper right arm. Following their split, Depp infamously had the tattoo altered to read “Wino Forever.”

In a 1993 interview with Australia Tonight’s Steve Vizard, before he altered his “Winona Forever” tattoo, Depp shared that the tattoos he has on his body are “a journal.”

“These tattoos for me are a journal,” he said at the time. “As opposed to writing it on a piece of paper, I took the initiative and put it on skin. So I wear my journal.”

Depp continued: “Even though we’re not together anymore, it doesn’t take away the honesty of the moment of when I got the tattoo… I don’t regret the tattoo at all, in fact it’s a part of my past, it’s part of my history, and I would definitely keep it. I mean I could add things to it, I could subtract, I could make it ‘wino forever,’ for instance. You never know.”

Melanie Griffith

Melanie Griffith made a bold statement when she removed the name of her husband of 20 years, Antonio Banderas, from inside a heart she had tattooed on her arm just a few weeks after announcing their divorce.

In 2014, Griffith was seen at Italy’s Taormina Film Festival with Banderas’ name missing from her arm. The star covered his name with make-up during the red-carpet appearance, and went on to have it lasered off. She famously debuted the tribute to her then-husband in 1998.

The couple share one daughter: Stella, 25.

Heidi Klum

In 2008, Heidi Klum honored her then-husband, Seal, with a tattoo of his name on her right forearm to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary. The couple wed in 2005 and their split in 2012 sparked Klum’s decision to have the ink removed.

The tattoo, which featured Seal’s name on her forearm connected to three stars with her children’s initials, now only has her kids’ names. The couple share: Henry, 16, Johan, 15 and Lou, 12. Klum shares her oldest daughter, Leni, 18 with Flavio Briatore.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria married Tony Parker in 2007. During their relationship, the “Desperate Housewives” actress had three tattoos penned on her body in tribute to her husband. The couple split in 2011 and Longoria decided to remove all evidence of Parker from her body.

Longoria reportedly had the number “nine” removed from the back of her neck, their wedding initials on her wrist and Parker’s initials “on a very private, undisclosed location” in 2012. Parker was a professional basketball player in the United States at the time of their relationship.

In 2016, Longoria made another trip to get the rest of the tattoos on her body removed. At the time, she documented the entire process on Snapchat. “This is a tale for all young kids,” she said in a video . “It hurts to get a tattoo, but it’s 10 times worse getting it off!”

FBI not expected to reopen investigation into Brad Pitt following Angelina Jolie claims

Back in 2016, Angelina Jolie claimed to the FBI that her ex-husband Brad Pitt injured her after drunkenly pushing her on board a private jet.

The incident allegedly left their six children upset, but the FBI are reportedly not willing to reopen investigation on the matter.

“The statute of limitations is way gone and they have seen all the information at hand,” a source told Page Six.

“There is nothing new here. At the time they considered all of Angelina’s allegations and didn’t bring any charges.

“The FBI investigated the incident thoroughly, there is zero chance of them reopening the case. This is all a concerted effort to smear Brad.

“Angelina’s claims were raised in at least two different legal contexts: the incident on the plane and then again during a lengthy custody trial. In one case, there were no charges brought and in another, Brad was granted 50/50 custody.”

The two actors are divorced, but there is still a custody dispute over their minor children: Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox.

“This is six-year-old stuff that Angelina presented in the custody hearing,” Pitt’s friend told Page Six.

“This is a six-year long campaign by Angelina to discredit Brad.

“This is really just Angelina’s version of events. This is what she claims happened.

“These claims were raised in the custody hearing and the judge obviously didn’t believe her, otherwise Brad would never have been given joint custody.”

Angelina Jolie, son Knox hit Universal Studios amid FBI bombshell

Angelina Jolie enjoyed a Universal Studios day with her 14-year-old son, Knox, after news broke of her anonymous lawsuit against the FBI.

The actress, 47, paired a white dress with aviator sunglasses and sandals at the Los Angeles theme park.

The teenager, for his part, wore a graphic tee and pants during the Wizarding World of Harry Potter visit.

While the duo were joined by three bodyguards and a tour guide, Knox’s five siblings were absent from the outing.

Jolie is the mother of Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and Vivienne, 14, whose custody she is currently fighting over with ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The former couple, who wed in 2014, broke up in September 2016 after an alleged altercation on their private jet.

Jolie made headlines Tuesday when she was identified as the anonymous plaintiff in an April lawsuit against the FBI over their choice not to arrest Pitt, 58, over her assault claims.

When the lawsuit was initially filed, many speculated that Jolie was the plaintiff. While Page Six reached out to reps for the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” co-stars at the time, their spokespeople didn’t comment.

The intelligence agency’s report, which has been released, show that the assistant United States attorney and the assistant United States chief of the Criminal Division discussed the case in November 2017 but did not charge the actor.

In the report, which has been seen by Page Six, the “Maleficent” star described her “mad” then-husband — who she claimed had been drinking — allegedly “shaking” her, punching the ceiling of the plane and yelling at her for “f–king up” their family.

News broke earlier this week that Jolie anonymously sued the FBI over their investigation of Brad Pitt.

When one of their children, whose name was redacted, called Pritt a “p—k,” the “Fight Club” star reportedly ran toward them.

In her efforts to stop him, Jolie allegedly suffered injuries to her back and elbow, which she submitted photos of to the FBI.

The actor got in an altercation with Jolie during a 2016 flight with their six kids.

Jolie also alleged in the report that her then-partner poured beer on her as she tried to sleep during the flight from Nice, France.

The filmmaker subsequently filed for divorce from Pitt. Although they were declared legally single in April 2019, they are still fighting over assets and custody.

In 2017, the “Fury” star told GQ that he stopped drinking because it had “become a problem” for him.

“I had to step away,” Pitt said at the time, noting that he had “feeling in [his] fingertips again.”

Brad Pitt accuses Angelina Jolie of seeking to ‘inflict harm’ on him over vineyard | Film

Brad Pitt has claimed that former wife Angelina Jolie deliberately “sought to inflict harm on” him by selling her share of their wine company to a rival investor.

First reported by DailyMail.com, Pitt has filed legal papers with Los Angeles County Superior Court as part of a long-running legal dispute between the pair over Chateau Miraval, located in south-east France, which the pair acquired in 2008 before their marriage in 2014.

After the couple divorced in 2019, Jolie was cleared to sell her share in 2021 for $164m (£131.2m) before their wider financial settlement was finalised. However, Pitt started legal action to try to retain a majority share in the company that owns the estate.

Pitt says that Jolie is selling her share to Tenute del Mondo, a wine-making company “indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group” and which is “bent on taking control of Miraval”.

The legal document adds: “Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights.”

The Guardian has contacted Jolie’s representatives for a response.

Brad Pitt Claims Angelina Jolie Tried to ‘Harm’ His Wine Company by Selling Out to a Disreputable ‘Stranger’

Brad Pitt says ex-wife Angelina Jolie deliberately damaged their wine company by selling her half to a “stranger” with a bad reputation – something the couple had explicitly and mutually agreed not to ever do, according to a new court filing.

Pitt’s team claimed in the Friday filing with the Superior Court of California that Jolie’s divestment strategy was designed “to inflict harm on Pitt. Jolie knew and intended that [businessman Yuri] Shefler and his affiliates would try to control the business Pitt had built and undermine Pitt’s investment in Miraval.”

Pitt says the things Shefler has done since taking over Jolie’s portion of the business are going exactly according to her plan, “and just as Jolie envisioned that is exactly what Shefler has done,” said Pitt’s attorneys.

.”Shefler has launched a hostile takeover of the wine business, destabilizing Miraval’s operations and seeking access to Miraval’s confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of his competing enterprise,” the court filing states.

Jolie’s sale of her portion of Château Miraval, located in the Southern French village of Correns, sparked the civil lawsuit. Pitt is suing for breach of contract; dealing in bad faith; and interference with contractual and business relations, among other things.

Pitt is seeking a trial by jury. As well as seeking damages “in an amount to be proven at trial,” and the purported sale made by Jolie, which he wants to be declared “null and void.”

Brad Pitt Slams Angelina Jolie In Chateau Sale To Russian Oligarch – Hollywood Life

View gallery

As Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to battle over property and other divorce details, things are getting ugly. Brad, 58, has now accused the Salt actress, 47, of attempting to “inflict harm” on him, according to court documents obtained by HollywoodLife, by secretly selling her stake in his French vineyard to “a Russian oligarch” with “poisonous intentions.” Said supposed malicious intentions allegedly include a plan to take complete control of their multi-million dollar Chateau Miraval winery.

Angelina apparently sold half of the successful business to a company run by Yuri Shefler, the owner of the company which makes the Russian vodka Stolichnaya, renamed Stoli. The papers allege that since Yuri has made an attempt to distance himself from Russian president, Vladimir Putin and his regime, the Stoli brand is now an “international liability,” citing Putin’s destructive invasion of Ukraine.

“Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights,” Brad’s attorneys claim in the documents, citing Angelina’s sale to the Stoli Group through Yuri. “By doing so, Jolie sought to seize profits she had not earned and returns on an investment she did not make. Also through the purported sale, Jolie sought to inflict harm on Pitt,” the documents claim.

“Jolie knew and intended that Shefler and his affiliates would try to control the business Pitt had built and to undermine Pitt’s investment in Miraval,” the statement continue. “And just as Jolie envisioned, that is exactly what Shefler has done.”

“In violation of the parties’ agreement, Jolie has sought to force Pitt into partnership with a stranger, and worse yet, a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions,” the docs continue, also claiming the sale violates an agreement the couple made at the start of their partnership in the 1000-acre estate which they bought in 2008. The agreement gave Brad first refusal to buy her stake if she wanted to sell, the judge was notified.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie (Andrea Raffin/Shutterstock).

The chateau located in the South of France is where the couple tied the knot in 2014, and it became Brad’s “passion,” as well as one of the world’s well-regarded producers of rosé wine, according to the court papers. In October 2021, however, things got messy when Angelina “purported to sell her interest to Tenute del Mondo, a hostile third-party competitor bent on taking control of Miraval,” the papers filed by Pitt’s attorneys claim, saying the motivation for the Maleficent actress was, well, malevolent in nature.

Sources also note that the timing of the sale was linked to a judge’s decision to issue a tentative ruling granting Brad 50/50 custody in the couple’s bitter battle of their five children,  Maddox, 20, Zahara, 16, Pax, 17, Shiloh, 15, Vivienne, 13, and Knox, 13. The duo currently share joint custody, a decision that Angelina has been working to overturn.

Angelina filed for divorce from Brad in 2016 after over a decade together, citing irreconcilable differences. In an interview with Vogue India last June, Angelina opened up about the split, explaining that the decision was for the “wellbeing” of her children. “It was the right decision,” she said. “I continue to focus on their healing. Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds. In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people.”

The star, who has for years worked closely with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), shared that she had traveled to Yemen in a video on her verified Instagram account over the weekend.

Brad Pitt Takes Angelina Jolie To Court Again Over Winery Where They Wed

Brad Pitt is suing Angelina Jolie for selling her share of the French vineyard where they got married.

Los Angeles:

Brad Pitt is suing Angelina Jolie for selling her share of the French vineyard where they got married.

Superstars Pitt and Jolie, who were once Hollywood’s highest profile couple, bought a controlling stake of Chateau Miraval in southern France in 2008, and tied the knot there six years later.

But they filed to dissolve their marriage in 2016 and have remained locked in court battles since, including over custody rights for their six children.

According to a lawsuit filed by Pitt in California on Thursday, the couple had “agreed they would never sell their respective interests in Miraval without the other’s consent.”

But last October, Jolie sold her stake to a “Luxembourg-based spirits manufacturer controlled by Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler,” the legal document obtained by AFP says.

Pitt’s filing alleges that Jolie broke the terms of their original agreement by not offering him first refusal for her share, and that she is seeking to “recover unearned windfall profits for herself while inflicting gratuitous harm on Pitt.”

“Jolie long ago stopped contributing to Miraval — while Pitt poured money and sweat equity into the wine business, building it into the ascendant company it is today,” it states.

Pitt’s lawsuit requests a trial by jury.

It describes the vineyard as a “small, unprofitable wine business” that was “in need of renovation” prior to the couple’s purchase in 2008.

The pair paid “approximately 25 million euros ($28 million),” with Pitt contributing 60 percent and Jolie the remaining 40 percent.

But Pitt went on to pay for renovations “in a manner far disproportionate to his relative ownership share” on the understanding Jolie would not pull out of the investment without his consent, the suit says.

Pitt brought in Marc Perrin, one of France’s top winemakers, to help transform the business into a leading rose wine producer, but “Jolie had no involvement in these efforts,” it continues.

Revenues reportedly grew from approximately $3 million in 2013 to more than $50 million last year, with Miraval recently launching a new line of rose sparkling wine.

A source with knowledge of the case told AFP that Jolie “is seeking a return on an investment she did not make and profits she did not earn.”

Jolie’s lawyer said the actress had not yet been served with Pitt’s lawsuit, and that her representatives were “learning about the complaint from the media.”

“I understand that Mr. Pitt is aware that Ms. Jolie is on a long-haul commercial international flight with their children, out of reach, and unable to respond,” said Robert Olson in a statement to AFP.

Tenute del Mondo, the drinks company that purchased Jolie’s share, said in a statement that it “chose to invest in Miraval as it is an exceptional wine and brand that complements our portfolio.”

“We entered this partnership wanting to bring the talent, skills and distribution channels that will only further enhance the Miraval offering and make Miraval the most successful brand of rose wine and champagne,” the company added.

Custody battle

A-listers Pitt and Jolie first became a couple after co-starring as married assassins in the 2004 film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time.

Pitt, now 58, was accused of striking one of his children during a flight from France to Los Angeles shortly before Jolie filed for divorce, but was later cleared by the FBI and social workers.

The pair announced in 2018 they had reached an amicable settlement over the children — three biological and three adopted.

But last July, Jolie scored a win in their custody battle as the private judge overseeing their divorce and custody matters was disqualified from the case.

Judge John Ouderkirk — who had also officiated their wedding at the vineyard — was found to have financially benefited from separate work with Pitt’s attorneys, and was disqualified from the case by a California appeals court.

The ruling meant the custody case essentially had to be restarted before a new judge.
