On the other side, Senegal is searching for a much-needed win as the competition heats up. It can only enter the knockout stage if it wins or if it draws plus the Netherlands gets upset by Qatar in a game running simultaneously on FOX.

Ismaïla Sarr got fouled by an Ecuadorian player while chasing a ball in the opposing box, drawing a penalty kick to give Senegal its best scoring chance of the match.
44′ – Senegal scores!
Sarr capitalized on the penalty kick to give Senegal a 1-0 lead. If the result holds, Senegal would advance to the knockout stage and Ecuador would go home. With the Netherlands leading Qatar at halftime, Ecuador would need at least a draw to move on.
