Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat was responsible for arguably the most brutal tackle of the Qatar World Cup on Wednesday.
The Atlas Lions came up against France in the World Cup semis hoping to pull off another upset on the day.
But it was not meant to be, as France went through to the final thanks to a comprehensive 2-0 victory.

During the game, there was an interesting moment involving Kylian Mbappe and Amrabat, who brutally took down the pacey Paris Saint Germain star, per SportBible.

Throughout the tournament, Amrabat has earned loads of admirers for his displays in midfield, particularly against Spain in the round of 16.
On Wednesday, he came up against Mbappe, who was kept quiet in the previous clash against England and was looking to add to his four goals in the tournament.
When the pair came up against each other, Mbappe typically outpaced Amrabat, but the Fiorentina midfielder was not willing to give up the duel that fast.
He ended up sprinting back in and issued what was a nasty-looking tackle on Mbappe but the referee adjudged him to have gotten enough of the ball.
Typically, fans on social media were full of admiration for Amrabat for what they termed as an incredible work rate from the midfielder to track back against a very quick Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe’s message to Hakimi
Sports Brief also reported on Mbappe’s brilliant message to his club teammate Hakimi after France saw off Morocco.
The showdown between Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi was hyped in the build-up to the game and it did not disappoint.
Hakimi did well against the rapid France winger. However, Mbappe was instrumental in both of France’s goals, which shows how important he is to his country.
