Biden calls for ‘African leadership at the table’ as he addresses summit

President Biden, in remarks delivered at the U.S.-Africa Business Forum, announced three steps the United States will take to support Africa’s growth, including investing in infrastructure and human capital.

The United States, Biden said, “is all in on Africa’s future” and remains committed to supporting “every aspect of Africa’s inclusive growth.”

The United States will sign a “historic” memorandum of understanding with the African Continental Free Trade Area secretariat, a free-trade-agreement area that comprises most of Africa. The memorandum, Biden said, “will unlock new opportunities for trade and investment” between member countries and the United States.
