Passenger killed, driver seriously injured in rollover crash on I-95 exit in Dedham

One person is dead and another was seriously injured in a rollover crash on an Interstate 95 exit Saturday morning, according to the Massachusetts State Police.Troopers responded at about 4:20 a.m. to the crash on I-95 north, which happened at the University Avenue exit in Dedham.State police say a Toyota RAV4 rolled over into a flooded gully on the infield between the roadway and the exit ramp and came to a rest upside down in several feet of water.Troopers entered the water and removed the two victims, both males, from the completely submerged vehicle. The troopers also performed emergency medical aid in an attempt to save their lives.The passenger of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.The driver was also transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. There is no update on his condition at this time.No further information about the victims has been released at this time.Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, the MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the MSP Crime Scene Services Section are investigating the cause of the crash.State police were assisted at the scene by Westwood firefighters.
