The two people killed in a plane crash in the Marin Headlands on Friday were Sacramento residents, the Marin County coroner’s office said Monday.
Michael B. Briare, 57, and Jennifer Lyn Fox, 52, were flying in a fixed-wing single-engine Vans RV-10 personal aircraft. It went down in foggy conditions near Slackers Hill northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The coroner’s office identified the pair over the weekend but did not release their names until family members could be notified about their deaths.

The cause of the crash remains under federal investigation. Keith Holloway of the National Transportation Safety Board said a preliminary report on the crash would be available this week or next. A complete report might take up to a year to be released.
Briare was a senior vice president with Hub International, an insurance brokerage.
“Our team at Hub is devastated by the loss of Mike Briare,” said Rob McVicar, executive vice president for the Sacramento region. “Mike was a loving father, true friend and mentor to many.”
Fox was a mother to two children in the Sacramento area, according to Jesuit High School. Her son Max Diepenbrock is a sophomore at Jesuit High School, and her daughter Ava Diepenbrock is a senior at St. Francis High School.
According to Fox’s website, she was the founder of I AM Empowerment Studio, a consulting company, and a “virtual spa” called the I AM Studio.
