Man fatally stabbed at BART station plaza in SF

A man was fatally stabbed above a San Francisco BART station and collapsed on a train platform Sunday afternoon, BART police said. The suspect fled the scene and had not been found.

BART’s surveillance cameras showed two men arguing on the street at the 24th Street BART Plaza, BART Police Chief Ed Alvarez said in a statement. The stabbing victim was then seen to walk down into the station, where he collapsed.

BART police said it was working with the San Francisco Police Department and other local law enforcement to find the suspect.

This fatal incident occurred two days after a man was shot on a BART train at Fruitvale Station in Oakland. The shooting suspect had not been caught.

The 24th Street BART station shut down after the stabbing, but BART announced Sunday evening that it had reopened.
