CHARLOTTE — As the impacts of Sunday’s winter storm are still being felt across the Carolinas, Channel 9 is tracking school closures and delays in our region. Continue to watch our coverage for the latest updates.
Here are local districts’ plans for Tuesday:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
CMS schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 18, due to dangerous road conditions in parts of Mecklenburg County. A make-up day is scheduled for Feb. 21.

Rock Hill Schools
Due to forecasts for refreezing ice that could make conditions unsafe, Rock Hill will engage in online learning on Tuesday. All district buildings and schools will be closed.
Newton-Conover City Schools
Schools will be closed for students with an optional remote workday for eligible staff on Tuesday. The district’s Kid Connection program will also be closed.
All campuses will be closed to students and staff.
Fort Mill Schools
The district will transition to remote, online learning on Tuesday citing concerns about unsafe travel conditions for bus and car transportation to school.
Last week, school leadership was asked to plan for this possibility and each school will communicate additional information on how the instructional day will operate tomorrow.
The move to online learning means students will not have to make-up the day later. All afterschool activities and programs will also be canceled.

Watauga County Schools
All schools will be closed on Tuesday, It will be an optional teacher workday for staff who are asked to check their emails for additional information.
On Wednesday, schools in the county will have a remote learning day. No students will report to campus and staff may choose to work remotely as needed.
All K-8 students will begin class at 10 a.m., high school students will start at 10:30 a.m.
Gaston County Schools
Schools will be closed Tuesday for students, as well as 10-month and 11-month employees.
Twelve-month employees have the option to come to work or work remotely. Those staff members are encouraged to operate on a two-hour delay and only if they can travel safely.
Chester County School District
The district will move to asynchronous, remote learning on Tuesday. Teachers will advice students on the assignments for the day and provide support where needed.
Classes are expected to resume normal operation on Wednesday.
Lincoln County Schools
Schools are closed on Tuesday for students, as well as 10-month and 11-month employees.
Twelve month employees have the option of coming to work or working remotely on Tuesday. These employees will work on a three-hour delay and are encouraged to only travel if they can safely.

Iredell-Statesville Schools
Citing snow and ice conditions across Iredell County, schools will be closed to all students with an optional workday for teachers on Tuesday.
Staff members and employees who are able to may choose to telework.
Cabarrus County Schools
Due to the hazardous driving conditions, schools will be closed for students and staff will have an optional remote day on Tuesday.
Wolf Meadow Elementary School, Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School and Cabarrus Early College of Technology are included in the closures for Tuesday.
Avery County Schools
Schools are closed districtwide on Tuesday.
Cleveland County Schools
Class is cancelled, because of the potential for unsafe road conditions. School is closed for all students, as well as 10-month and 11-month employees.
Tuesday will be an optional workday — with a two hour delay — for 12-month employees.
Rowan-Salisbury Schools
Schools are closed districtwide on Tuesday.
Hickory Public Schools
Tuesday was a previously planned teacher workday, so students were not scheduled to attend school.
For employees, the district announced all buildings and facilities will be closed. Staff that is scheduled to work can be remote, take a leave day, take a day without pay or follow make-up policy.
Union County Schools
Tuesday was already scheduled as a teacher workday for schools on the traditional calendar.
Alexander Schools Schools
Closed on Tuesday due to road conditions.
Caldwell County Schools
Closed on Tuesday for a scheduled optional teacher workday.
