Amber Alert Ohio: Ana Grace Burke found in Bloomington, Illinois after police say 5-year-old girl abducted by neighbor

An Amber Alert issued in Ohio has been canceled after 5-year-old Ana Grace Burke was found safe in Bloomington, Illinois late Friday.

Investigators said Ana Grace Burke was abducted by a 36-year-old acquaintance of her family named Jonathan Lee Stinnett. He is now in custody and under arrest, authorities said.

Investigators have not provided additional details.

Police said the girl had permission to be with Stinnett and a woman Thursday. They went to a Goodwill store and then took the girl to a McDonald’s to use the bathroom.

But around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, police said he and Ana got into a silver 1991 Ford Aerostar with Michigan plates.

Finding Ana was the top priority for Jackson Township Police Major Jim Monigold, who feared the girl could be in danger.
“Because she’s 5 years old, she’s been away from her family and for an unaccounted amount of time with no idea where she is. That’s that makes me concerned for her well-being,” Monigold told ABC affiliate WEWS.

Police said Ana was supposed to be returned to her home in the Quail Hollow Apartments. But when that didn’t happen, her worried mother called 911 trying to piece together what happened.

“It’s been like over an hour and he hasn’t showed back up to Goodwill with my daughter,” she told a 911 dispatcher.

According to the Ohio State Patrol, an Amber Alert was not issued for Ana Thursday night because there was no immediate credible threat of injury or death to the child.

“We were told that one of the key criteria at that time was that there were no immediate threats to the child due to the fact that they were with somebody they were permitted to be with,” Monigold said.
The Amber Alert was issued Friday. Investigators received a tip Friday night that a vehicle matching the description was seen in Indiana.

The FBI has sent agents to the Jackson Township police department to assist in the investigation.

Anyone who may have seen these individuals should contact the Jackson Township Police Department at 330-834-3960 or the Regional Emergency Dispatch Center at 330-837-9346.
