3 Killed, 3 Hurt in Northwest DC Shooting, Police Say – NBC4 Washington

A total of six people were shot Saturday in Northwest D.C., leaving three of the victims dead, authorities said.

D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee said officers heard gunshots in the 600 block of Longfellow Street NW just after 7:30 p.m.

Contee said the suspects exited a vehicle and fired shots down the block, into a crowd of individuals hanging out there. He said he wasn’t sure why the crowd was targeted.

All of the victims were adults who were rushed to local hospitals. Three are being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

The three killed appeared to be young adults, Contee said.

A gun was recovered at the scene. A D.C. police CCTV camera close to the scene caught images of the suspects’ vehicle, a dark Honda Accord with tinted windows and chrome-colored rims.

Authorities are asking the public to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411 if they have any information. A reward of up to $75,000 is being offered.
