Over the past decade, the rise of guest characters in fighting games has been a source of both hype and contention for longtime fans, especially when the picks of who they bring in are not fighters who seem to immediately fit the series they’re joining.
MrTopTenList recently did as his name suggests and released a new video going over the top 10 more questionable crossover and guest character choices in modern fighting games.
Since he previously released a breakdown of the strangest / unexpected collaborations of more classic games a few years ago, this time around focuses mainly on fighters from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One era although there are a few exceptions.
Kicking off the countdown is 2B jumping from Nier Automata to Soul Calibur 6, which should be pretty obvious considering she’s an android with high-tech, future capabilities like using lasers and floating weapons fighting dudes from the 16th century who may have a little magic.
There is no limit on entries per series, however, so he gives a heads up that there’s going to be a good bit of Mortal Kombat and Tekken discussion going on.
