New Akatsuki Blitzkampf sequel En-Eins Perfektwelt Anastasis announced

Rev up that Blitztank

The realm of doujin fighting games in Japan is usually packed with creative designs and wacky characters (along with some jank), and Akatsuki Blitzkampf is one of the most successful among them all that’s not named Melty Blood.

Developers Subtle Style announced earlier today that a new entry in the series is in the works via a teaser trailer, and it’s name is En-Eins Perfektwelt Anastasis.

Unfortunately for those looking for a lot of details, Anastasis’ teaser shows even less than Street Fighter 6, considering it doesn’t show anything about the game itself at all.

Instead, fans are provided with a small timeline of Akatsuki Blitzkampf’s releases over the past 12 years followed by what appears to be the game’s logo and a promise that more information will be coming soon.

Like it’s been the case during that time period, Anastasis is targeting Japanese arcades first and foremost with no information on a potential home / PC release.

Back in 2019, Subtle Style announced that 2008’s Akatsuki Blitzkampf Ausf. Achse would be headed to PC although nothing has been said since, so it’s unknown if that port was put on the backburner for this new sequel.

Akatsuki Blitzkampf began life in 2003 with Akatsuki Shisei Ichigo and now Anastasis technically being the 5th game / overhaul in the series, which will likely build heavily on its predecessor En-Eins Perfektwelt.

Some of its most notable characters like Akatsuki have made guest appearances in Under Night In-Birth and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle alongside the skull-headed Blitztank of hype and destruction.
