King has been revealed for King of Fighters 15. A new gameplay trailer has been released to showcase what she’ll be able to do in the upcoming fighter.
As demonstrated in the trailer, King is a practitioner of Muay Thai. However, King provides a bit of a spin on traditional Muay Thai by adding acrobatic jumps and high kicks into her fighting style.
While most characters in fighting games tend to throw projectiles with their hands, King shots projectiles with a kicking motion. When doing this, she essentially generates a blue fireball from her foot.
If King has the opponent pinned in the corner with her projectile, then she is able to continue the combo from a fair distance away. This will likely be important for King players during high level gameplay.
While King does have access to punch attacks, the trailer mostly has her kicking foes during her combos.
We also get the opportunity to see a new stage during King’s trailer. At the beginning, King and Iori are seen fighting at a fair near a haunted house. It’s nighttime, and the fair appears to be devoid of any life.
King of Fighters 15 is currently slated for a release sometime in 2021. SNK will likely continue releasing new character trailers every week until its release date.
