Fighting game betas obviously aren’t indicative of what the title’s characters and balance will look like upon release, but it gives players a solid base to see what’s immediately strong and how things could continue to develop.
Following the first open beta test for DNF Duel this past weekend, longtime fighting game pro Infiltration released his tier list for the trial version of the Dungeon Fighter Online spin-off.
To the surprise of probably not many people who put a decent amount of time into the beta running through matches, Infiltration places the Crusader and Striker at the top of the chart in the “UNGA” category.
The big holy man’s range of giant attacks were difficult to avoid and counter on their own even without his pop up wall while Striker’s combo options and conversions appear to be the most varied in DNF currently.
As for the lower end of the spectrum, Inquisitor ends up sitting at the bottom in B tier by herself with a more difficult gameplan to get going while Dragon Knight is just above there as arguably the most technical character available.
For his own play time, Infiltration appears to have put the most time into the Ranger and Grappler, who he thinks pretty highly of, putting them both firmly in S tier.
It’s certainly going to be quite interesting to see where this game goes in any subsequent betas and after release, but until then, you can check out Infiltration’s beta tier list for DNF Duel below.
