GameStop Announces In-Store PS5 Restock

GameStop has announced an in-store PS5 restock fresh off Best Buy announcing its own in-store restock for not just the PS5, but the Xbox Series X as well. That said, while Best Buy’s in-store/on-site restock is nationwide, GameStop’s in-store restock is very limited. More specifically, it’s limited to stores in the following three areas: New York City, Atlanta, and Dallas-Ft. Worth. How big the restock will be, remains to be seen, but it will go down on September 30 and be limited to bundles. What these bundles are, isn’t divulged, but typically GameStop bundles include a few hundred dollars of pack-ins like controllers, games, and subscription services.

Right now, there’s no word of a similar restock for the Xbox Series X, which is just as difficult to order as the PS5. It’s unclear why the promotion is limited to the PS5. What is also unclear if this is a one-time promotion or something GameStop is going to continue to do going forward. And finally, there’s no word on whether the restock will include the even more elusive all-digital PS5, which retails at $400, $100 cheaper than the $500 standard version that comes with a disc drive.
