Ascend: Hand of Kul, an Xbox 360 title that was shut down and delisted eight years ago, will be getting a rerelease, developer Outer Heaven Studios has announced. However, platforms are yet to be confirmed.
Free-to-play action-RPG Ascend: Hand of Kul first launched on the Xbox 360 back in 2013. A year later, developer Signal Studio announced that publisher Microsoft had “discontinued support for Ascend: Hand of Kul on the Xbox 360 and removed the game from the Xbox Live Marketplace.” Now, Ascend: Hand of Kul is set for a rerelease under the new name, Ascend: Reborn.

As announced on Twitter, the game’s official account revealed that Outer Heaven Studios has partnered with the original game’s developer Signal Studios to release the game once more. “Outer Heaven Studios is excited to announce that we are partnering with Signal Studios to re-release Ascend: Hand of Kul as ‘Ascend: Reborn.’ Follow us on social media to stay up to date with our progress and to learn more about this beloved game.” Shortly after the announcement Signal Studios released a screenshot of the new game, which we’ve embedded above.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any other information on Ascend: Reborn. Platforms and a release date have not been announced.
Ascend: Hand of Kul was a third-person action-RPG that was one of the first free-to-play games on the Xbox 360. As a warrior of Caos, you would fight against “the immortal Titans while fending off attacks from rival players and establishing your influence in the global Ascend conflict.” At the time, the game received middling reviews from critics but was received slightly better by players.
