Former Nebraska interim football coach Mickey Joseph pushed, punched and choked his wife and pulled her hair during an argument the couple had over infidelity, Lincoln police allege in a court document filed Thursday.

Lancaster County prosecutors charged Joseph, 54, with one felony count of assault by strangulation or suffocation, which is punishable by up to five years of probation or three years of prison. Joseph denied the allegations to police, according to the affidavit. The charge was an upgrade to the two misdemeanors that Lincoln police originally cited when they booked him into jail Wednesday night.

A judge set bail Thursday at 10% of $20,000, meaning Joseph must pay $2,000 to be released. He posted bail and was released. He was ordered to have no contact with his wife.

According to the two-page sworn affidavit of Lincoln Police Officer Steve Redlin:

Priscilla Joseph, 34, told arriving Lincoln police officers that she and Mickey Joseph have been married for six years. Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, the two “began arguing about infidelity in the marriage” in their home near 34th Street and Tree Line Drive in south Lincoln.

“Priscilla reported (Mickey) pushed her from the front, causing her to fall onto the couch,” Redlin wrote. “Priscilla advised (Mickey) got on top of her on the couch and placed his hands around her throat. She specifically stated, ‘He pushed me on the couch and strangled me.’”

When officers asked her if she could breathe, she told them: “No, until I pushed him off.”

A teenage girl was randomly punched in the face in broad daylight by a wig-wearing suspect in Midtown Manhattan last week, police said Wednesday.

The 17-year-old girl was at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 40th Street — on her way to the subway — around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 5 when a stranger approached her and socked her in the nose without saying a word, cops said.

The blow left the victim with a broken nose and a bloody left eye, cops said.

Cops believe the wig-wearing suspect pictured here randomly punched a 17-year-old girl at Eighth Avenue and West 40th Street.

She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The male suspect — shown in footage released by police Wednesday — wore a blond wig during the apparently unprovoked attack.

He appears to be in his 30s and is around 5 feet 5 and 150 pounds, with a light complexion, cops said.

Police were still looking for the suspect Wednesday.

The suspect, shown in surveillance footage walking through a subway turnstile, was last seen wearing a black hat, beige coat, black dress, white and black sneakers and a red face mask.

Police are looking for the public’s help in tracking down the alleged attacker.

The incident comes amid a recent slew of violent assaults in the city’s subway system.

Disturbing new video shows a woman slugging an elderly lady in the face in an unprovoked broad-daylight attack in Midtown this week.

The 74-year-old victim was walking on Madison Avenue near East 52nd Street around 11 a.m. Wednesday when the stranger punched her in the side of the face without saying a word, according to cops and the video.

Ezra Miller continues to make friends wherever they go. The Flash actor has reportedly resurfaced in Tokyo, where eyewitnesses claim they got into a physical altercation with Elvis star Austin Butler.

After evading authorities following a number of charges and accusations, deeply troubled actor Ezra Miller has seemingly resurfaced in Japan.

Though we’re still waiting on confirmation, several eyewitness claim to have spotted The Flash star, who identifies as nonbinary and uses “they/them” pronouns, in a bar in Tokyo where Elvis and Dune Part 2 actor Austin Butler was also enjoying a few drinks with friends. Apparently, Miller approached the group, and after becoming visibly aggressive and raising their voice, Butler punched them in the face.

After the altercation, Miller was told to leave and Butler’s party stayed for another few hours.

UPDATE: TMZ is claiming that the above incident never took place, as Butler never even set foot in the bar where the altercation was said to have occurred.

In a separate report from Variety, the woman (who wished to remain anonymous) Miller could be seen choking in a video taken outside a bar in Iceland back in 2020 has broken her silence on what exactly went down. According to her, what began as banter turned serious when she joked that she could “take” the actor in a fight.

“I think it’s just fun and games — but then it wasn’t,” she said. “All of a sudden, [they’re] on top of me, choking me, still screaming in my face if I want to fight. My friend who’s filming sees [they’re] obviously not joking and it’s actually serious, so he stops filming, and pushes [them] off me as [they’re] still trying to fight me. Two guy friends of mine are actually holding [Miller] back as [they’re] screaming, ‘This is what you wanted! This is what you wanted!’”

This is really only the tip of the iceberg, as Variety’s piece outlines several other incidents involving the actor that are alleged to have occurred while they were staying in Reykjavík.

There is increasing demand for Warner Bros. to issue some kind of response. A recent report indicated that the studio had decided to “hit pause on any future projects involving the actor including possible appearances in the DC Cinematic Universe,” but that was later played down as an “exaggeration,” and we’ve had no word since.

This is obviously a very difficult situation for WB and everyone involved with The Flash. Even if they do decide to sever their relationship with Miller going forward, it would be next to impossible to replace them in the lead role without reshooting the entire movie. The nature of DC’s take on the Multiverse does give them the option of casting a new actor as Barry Allen down the line, but it leaves the fate of this film up in the air for the time being.
