Mandy Moore Gives Birth to Baby No. 1!

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Is there nothing Mandy Moore can’t do?

Better sign her up for the Olympics, because Mandy just proved she has the endurance of an unstoppable athlete. The This is Us star (and new mom to 5-month-old Gus) summited a mountain peak while pausing to pump breast milk—all before 7 a.m.

Mandy took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 20, to share photos of her impressive journey to the top of Mount Baker (also known as Koma Kulshan) in Washington state, which has an elevation of more than 10,000 feet.

“This is when we woke up this am to climb,” the 37 year old wrote, with the clock showing 12:01 a.m.

New Ural Mountain Warzone Map Leaks Ahead of Official Reveal

After weeks on confusion, leaks, and feverish hype, the new Ural Mountains Warzone map has leaked online.

Warzone is about to get a new map, something that’s allegedly happening this very month. But despite all the hype and the theories, we still have no official announcement from Activision.

All that might be about to change however, as Warzone’s new Ural Mountains map has now leaked in its entirety. Thanks to a new screenshot making the rounds on social media, we now know exactly what the new Warzone map will look like.

(Source: Activision)

It should be pointed out that it seems that this is probably not the new Warzone map that’s coming later this month. Although leakers believe that this map is still on the way, a trailer leak indicates we’ll first be heading to a new 1980’s-themed version of Verdansk in Warzone.

Warzone: Ural Mountains Map Leak

At last, Warzone fans are getting a glimpse at the heavily-rumored Ural Mountains map, thanks to a new major leak.

We imagine that Activision will be quick to take this image down online, particularly if it’s legitimate. This looks to be the same map that we’ve been hearing about for months, consisting of a lot of merged Fireteam: Dirty Bomb maps.

In the image, we can see some of the Ural Mountains map’s major POIs, including Chemical Labs, Weather Station, Ski Slopes, Zoo, Ruka, Battery, Sanatorium, Golova, Duga, Mines, and more.

Incidentally, some of the Warzone 80’s Verdansk map POIs are also leaking early!

We actually have our first in-game screenshot of the Warzone Ural Mountains map here!

According to past leaks, the Warzone map above will feature an increased player count, more POIs than ever, and more! We’re definitely ready to hear more about what’s coming to Activision’s biggest project.

Allegedly, this image might not be representative of our final product either. After all, the image is supposedly almost a a year old at this point.

We also have a new Warzone Rebirth Island night map on the way, if leaks are to be believed. It’s certainly an exciting time to be a battle royale fan!

And the game certainly needs a boost that a new map could offer. After all, Warzone Season 2 Reloaded was the worst update since the title’s launch last year.

Czech billionaire, 4 killed when helicopter crashes into Alaska mountain

The richest man in the Czech Republic is dead after a helicopter carrying guests on a heli-skiing excursion crashed into a mountain in Alaska, according to officials Monday.

Petr Kellner, 56, was among five killed in the accident Saturday evening. One man, 48-year-old David Horvath of the Czech Republic, survived, and was listed in serious condition, according to the AP.

The other victims included one other Czech Republic citizen, two Alaska residents and a man from Colorado.

Among the passengers were two staff members of the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, a company spokesperson told the AP, where the rest were presumably staying.

“This news is devastating to our staff, the community in which we operate and the families of the deceased,” the lodge told the AP in a statement.

Kellner’s net worth was estimated around $17 billion, making him the 68-richest billionaire on the Forbes billionaire list for 2020.

A statement on the website for the PPF Group, an investment firm Kellner founded, described “his incredible work ethic and creativity, but his private life belonged to his family.”

Fagradals Mountain volcano, dormant for 6,000 years, erupts in Iceland

The Fagradals Mountain volcano in southwest Iceland had been dormant for 6,000 years. But on Friday night, following weeks of earthquakes in the area, the volcano came to life.

The eruption is the first that the Reykjanes Peninsula, where the volcano is located, has experienced in 781 years.

Video of the eruption show the bright lava oozing out of the earth, lighting up an otherwise stark dark night. The glow from the lava could be seen up to 20 miles away from Reykjavík, Iceland’s capital, according to the Associated Press and photos of the glow.

Icelandic Police tweeted on Friday that people were to stay indoors and keep their windows closed to prevent gas pollution. When volcanoes erupt, the lava spews several potentially hazardous gases, including sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen fluoride, according to the United State Environmental Protection Agency.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office said on Saturday morning that the pollution from this eruption, however, “is not expected to cause much discomfort for people except close up to the source of the eruption.”

On its website, the office said “no volcanic ash is detected but high level of volcanic gases has been measured close to the eruption site.” Scientists and officials are monitoring the emissions closely.

By Saturday morning, the Icelandic Meteorological Office reported that volcanic activity had “somewhat decreased” since Friday evening. Scientists at the department have not cited major concern for people in the area, as the lava area is less than 1 square kilometer. Eruptive fissures — cracks in the earth’s surface from which lava comes out — are approximately 500 to 700 meters long, according to the office.

“Lava fountains are small and lava flows are currently a very local hazard,” the office tweeted.

The Scientific Council for Civil Protection said on Saturday morning that they do not believe the eruption is a threat to structures.

A small earthquake happened just hours before the volcano erupted.

Southwest Iceland has been hit with a “swarm” of thousands of earthquakes since February 24. Dozens of them had a magnitude of 3 or higher, meaning they could be felt. On Thursday, just one day before the eruption, the IMO reported that there had been 400 earthquakes in a span of about seven hours. Despite the extent, it was “somewhat less” seismic activity compared to other mornings where there have been roughly 1,000 earthquakes.

Bear chases skier down mountain in Romania: ‘Don’t look back!’

This skier probably couldn’t bear another minute on the slopes.

A young man’s quick thinking may have saved his life, after throwing his backpack to distract a bear that chased him down a ski slope in Romania.

It was quite the spectacle on the slopes at Predeal mountain resort in Brasov County last month, when a brown bear charged towards the skiing tourist, Digi24 reports.

GRIZZLY BEAR CAPTURED IN YELLOWSTONE CONFIRMED AS THE REGION’S OLDEST

“Faster, faster! Go, the bear is chasing you! Faster! God forbid, don’t look back!” onlookers screamed from the chairlift on Jan. 23.

Likely bearing in mind that his options were limited, the skier slickly threw his bag to distract the wild animal – and the ploy paid off. The bear scurried to the side of the slope for closer examination, and the skier glided to safety, unharmed.

“The skier did the right thing,” Ion Zaharia, a spokesperson for the local police, told ABC News. “The bear was distracted by things inside his backpack.”

“We are considering to relocate the bear, who should be hibernating now, anyway, but in recent years, we have more bears confronting skiers in the winter.”

The surprise marked the third bear sighting that day, Digi24 reports. On the same Saturday, authorities received two other calls that a bear was spotted on the Clabucet slope. According to Zaharia, however, such bear scares aren’t unusual for the Transylvania resort during this time of year.

Illegal dumper makes money hauling trash, duping Eagle Mountain residents

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah — The Utah County Sheriff’s Office has quite a strange case of illegal dumping on their hands, saying trash from several Eagle Mountain residents is ending up on private property instead of at the dump.

Only, the people who own the stuff aren’t the ones leaving it behind.

On Friday afternoon, Utah County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Spencer Cannon took photos of discarded furniture, boxes and random objects that sat on snow and mud amongst juniper trees.

The piles of trash were abandoned far back on private property at the base of Lake Mountain, on the outskirts of Eagle Mountain.

Sgt. Cannon pointed out an old pair of Sorel boots, as well as a dog crate and what appeared to be canned beets in mason jars. Old couches and chairs were stacked under mattresses and dressers.

“For 20 more minutes’ time, this guy could have done it the right way,” he said, referring to the fact that the dump in Cedar Fort was a mere 5-mile drive.

As he documented the investigation, he found a box with a name.

“This does have identifiable information on it,” he said.

The Sheriff’s Office was already aware of who this stuff belonged to, because of Amazon boxes with names and addresses.

The culprits could face over $1,000 in fines, Sgt. Cannon indicated.

But that’s why the owners of all that stuff couldn’t believe it was left there.

“I was just like, ‘Are you kidding me?'” Torri Kenison asked in disbelief.

She claimed ownership of a sink, two dressers, dog crate, Christmas lights and boxes that were strewn about with the rest of the junk.

“That’s my stuff, and it needs to be appropriately disposed of. And I was irritated that I was lied to,” said Scarlet Davis.

Many of the items belong to Davis and her husband, who recently cleaned out their garage and got rid of a trailer-full of unwanted things.

Ring doorbell video shows how this all started out, when Kenison hired a man off Facebook a week ago Wednesday.

That man, she explained, posted in a community group offering to make dump runs for people to earn extra cash. Kenison said at least 15 people commented to take him up on his offer less than 30 minutes after he made the post.

“I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll just have this guy do it. He seems reasonable. There’s quite a bit of interest,'” Kenison recounted.

She described how the man quickly showed up and took the items off her porch to load into his trailer. The man told her he was picking up items for other people, she said, including one person who was paying him $150. Kenison and her husband paid the man $30, and he went on his way.

But fast forward to earlier this week, when another Facebook post popped up in the same community group. The post warned against hiring the same man Kenison hired to make a dump run, with explanations that he wasn’t actually going to the dump.

Several pictures were attached, and Kenison immediately recognized all her things.

“He literally dumped two minutes from my house,” she said.

Just around the corner from her home, it appeared Kenison’s trash was abandoned along with trash from other people. When she called the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, she found out they were already on the case.

“He was like, ‘So you got hit by the dumpster bandit?'” she said of what the deputy told her. “And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And he said I was one of four people that called that day about it.”

Sgt. Cannon said they’ve had several people contact them with the same story: They paid a man money to haul away trash, only to find their things illegally dumped on private property.

Davis is the one who figured it all out and made the original Facebook post. She explained that someone walking in the area found the garbage and noticed Davis’ name on some of the boxes, then reached out to her.

Her post led to comments from many others, recognizing their items.

“My stuff was unloaded with a bunch of other people’s stuff,” she said. “So they have come out and said, ‘Oh, that’s mine. That’s mine.'”

Davis said she and her husband paid the man $100 and even let him borrow their trailer, which was jam-packed full, to go to the so-called dump.

While Davis was worried at first that the Sheriff’s Office would find her items and fine her, she now just wants everything cleaned up. She said many people have volunteered to help her haul everything out this weekend and dispose of it the right way.

In the meantime, Kenison and Davis have both messaged the man to confront him. They each said he is denying he dumped the items there, and even went as far as telling Kenison the items she found weren’t hers.

The person behind this strange business venture has a family, Davis said. She said she understands hard times and poor decisions, and doesn’t expect her money back.

But she does want him to make better choices and learn from this.

“If they get away with things like this, then it ends up hurting the community and himself,” she said. “So, I just want him to recognize that what he did was wrong.”

The Sheriff’s Office is now working on holding this person accountable. Sgt. Cannon said he could face misdemeanor charges and potentially fines to cover the cost of cleanup.

“These people expected that they were getting a legitimate service,” he said. “And this is what they got, is a pile of junk — of their property — thrown out here.”
