India vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup 2022, Highlights: Sri Lanka defeated India by 6 wickets in the Super 4 match between the sides at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. Bhanuka Rajapaksa (25 not out) and Dasun Shanaka (33 not out) stitched a 64-run partnership for the fifth wicket to take Sri Lanka through. Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis was the top run-scorer for Sri Lanka with 57 runs. Pathum Nissanka also helped the team’s cause with his 52-run knock. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 34. India had posted 173 for 8 on the board, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 72-run knock off 41 balls. Rohit Sharma’s blazing fifty laid a solid platform for India but the side failed to make most of it as Sri Lanka chipped in with wickets at regular intervals after the departure of the Indian skipper. Dilshan Madushanka claimed three wickets, while Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka claimed two wickets apiece. Sri Lanka captain Shanaka had won the toss and opted to bowl first in the Super 4 tie of the ongoing Asia Cup. (SCORECARD)

Earlier, after being 0-3 down in the second set vs Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic won four games on the trot and he won the second set 6-4. Earlier, it took 49 minutes for 13-time champion Rafael Nadal to win the first set 6-2 against world number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic in the ongoing French Open quarterfinals at Philippe-Chatrier Court.  Djokovic and 13-time Roland Garros winner Rafael Nadal are squaring off in a blockbuster French Open quarterfinal. The match is taking place during the night session at Roland Garros even though Nadal had previously expressed his desire to play during the day. On the other hand, Djokovic had hinted that he would like to face the Spaniard as late as possible. England batters yet again failed to make an impression and were packed off 185 in their first innings on Day 1 of the ongoing 3rd Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon were the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking three wickets each. Mitchell Starc took two  while Cameron Green and debutant also picked a wicket each to put Australia in the driver’s seat. For England, captain Joe Root was the standout, scoring yet another fifty. But the rest failed to take make their starts count as the batting line-up crumbed again. Earlier, Australia had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Australia handed Test debut to Victoria pacer Scott Boland while England made four changes from the previous game. England are already trailing 0-2 in the five-match series following defeats in the first and second Test in Brisbane and Adelaide, respectively. (LIVE SCORECARD)

Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade stitched together an unbeaten fifty-run partnership to guide Australia to a superb five-wicket win and a place in the final where they will take on New Zealand on Sunday. Both Stoinis and Wade played some well-calculated shots and took the game deep to launch an assault late in the run-chase against Pakistan pacers. Wade finished the game with three back-to-back sixes off Shaheen Shah Afridi to finish the game with an over to spare and five wickets in hand. Chasing a stiff target of 177 runs, skipper Aaron Finch departed for a duck in the first over against pacer Shaheen while spinner Shadab Khan also got into the action as he struck with four crucial wickets to rock Australia in their pursuit of 177 runs for a win. However, Australia constructed back their innings beautifully, pacing and constructing their innings around the required run-rate.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 176 runs in their 20 overs after being sent to bat. Mohammad Rizwan top-scored for Pakistan with an impressive knock of 67 runs. He added 71 runs with skipper Babar Azam (39) for the first wicket and 72 runs for the second wicket with Fakhar Zaman (55*). (SCORECARD)
