England batters yet again failed to make an impression and were packed off 185 in their first innings on Day 1 of the ongoing 3rd Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon were the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking three wickets each. Mitchell Starc took two while Cameron Green and debutant also picked a wicket each to put Australia in the driver’s seat. For England, captain Joe Root was the standout, scoring yet another fifty. But the rest failed to take make their starts count as the batting line-up crumbed again. Earlier, Australia had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Australia handed Test debut to Victoria pacer Scott Boland while England made four changes from the previous game.
