Warzone April 6 patch notes: FFAR updates, attachment fixes & more

The Groza is a formidable weapon in Warzone Season 2, capable of using its high fire rate to rip through an enemy’s armor. Here are the best attachments and perks to maximize its potential.

It’s no secret that the integration of Black Ops Cold War into Warzone changed the battle royale game immeasurably. The addition of so many extra guns offered up extra possibilities to consider. That being said, Season 1 was dominated by the DMR, Diamattis, and MAC-10, and Season 2 has favored the AUG, FFAR, and Kar98K.

There’s always going to be a meta no matter how many guns you offer, and one weapon that people may be missing out on is the Groza. It has a high fire rate, making it especially effective at medium range. It may not be as favorable at point-blank range or as forgiving at extreme long-distance, but use it as a support weapon for those mid-range fights, and you’ll be maximizing its slaying potential.

If you don’t believe us, then you only have to ask NICKMERCS who believes the Groza could “rival the FFAR.”

Here’s the best attachments and perks to run with the Groza Assault Rifle in Warzone Season 2.

Best Warzone Season 2 Groza class

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 16.7″ VDV Reinforced
  • Stock: KGB Pad
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Speedgrip
  • Ammunition: VDV 60 RND Fast Mag

This Groza’s main strength is the damage it can deal. The attachments in this loadout will focus on giving that a further boost, while also improving the weapon’s effective damage range and recoil control.

The GRU Suppressor is a necessary attachment for the Groza. Not only will your silenced shots be hidden from the radar and mini-map, but you’ll also see a massive boost to bullet velocity, damage range, and recoil control.

To further improve its range and accuracy, the 16.7″ VDV Reinforced barrel and Spetsnaz Speedgrip are excellent choices. The barrel boosts damage over range and bullet velocity and the grip allows you to keep the recoil under control, making landing upper torso and headshots much easier.

By using the Groza’s clean iron sights, you can take advantage of another attachment slot. We’ve opted for the KGB Pad stock to vastly improve your mobility. You’ll be able to get your weapon up much quicker and be also strafe-shoot much faster, making yourself a more difficult target to hit.

To round out this loadout, the VDV 60 Rnd Fast Mag will allow you to take out multiple targets without having to reload. As it’s a fast mag, you’ll also be able to reload quickly, keeping you in the fight without getting caught out by a lengthy magazine change.

Best perks for Warzone Season 2 Groza

  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
  • Perk 3: Amped

The Groza is most effective at medium range, which means you won’t be safe from grenades and other explosives thrown your way. With E.O.D equipped, you’ll be able to survive multiple explosives, which is vital to staying alive in Warzone.

You’ll want to pair the Groza with another weapon suited for either extreme long-range, such as the HDR, or an SMG for up-close. Overkill will allow you to take two primary weapons, then you can grab Ghost from your next loadout, concealing you from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors.

And to make sure you can switch between these weapons rapidly, you should equip Amped in the third slot.

How to unlock the Groza in Warzone Season 2

If you want to get your hands on the Groza, then you will need to “Get 3 kills or more without dying, using Assault Rifles, in 15 different matches.”

You also need to ensure that once you’ve earned each killstreak that you finish the match and don’t leave early.

With Black Ops Cold War being integrated into Warzone, the gun will be available for you to use in both of these titles.

Best Groza Season 2 alternatives

The Groza is an excellent weapon, but if you’re looking for something a bit different to use, then the Bullfrog is a superb weapon at close range.

For something at longer distances, the LW3 Tundra or HDR will do the job.

This covers the best attachments and perks for the Groza Assault Rifle. If you bring this weapon with you in short to medium-range conflicts, then you’ll be a killing machine.

Warzone Season 2 Reloaded 1.34 patch notes: AUG nerf, bug fixes, more

Black Ops Cold War’s MP5 is a great close-range choice in Warzone Season 2, so here are the best attachments and perks to run with it.

The MP5 has been a fan-favorite weapon in almost every Call of Duty title. It hasn’t lost any of its power in Cold War and Warzone, being an underrated gem for close-range combat.

It’s one of the first weapons you’ll unlock, making it an excellent choice for beginners and veterans alike. Here are the best attachments and perks to dominate with BOCW’s MP5 in Warzone Season 2.

Best Cold War MP5 Warzone attachments

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 10.1″ Calvary Lancer
  • Laser: SWAT 5mW Laser Sight
  • Grip: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: Salvo 50 Rnd Fast Mag

This Cold War MP5 is built to dominate at close range. Pair it with a long-range rifle such as the AUG, or if you’re especially confident with your aim, a Sniper Rifle. Quickly switch to it if your primary weapon is out of ammo, or use it in close-quarters situations.

First, we’ve added the Agency Suppressor. This works similarly to the Monolithic Suppressor from Modern Warfare, which increases the weapons range while hiding you from the minimap. For increased versatility, we’ve also equipped the 10.1″ Calvary Lancer barrel. This increases the MP5’s damage at range without any negatives.

To make the MP5 as accurate as possible, you should add the Field Agent Grip. This helps with both horizontal and vertical recoil control, which makes it easy to land headshots up close and stay accurate even at longer ranges. And for some extra accuracy at point-blank, the SWAT 5mW Laser Sight will boost your hip-fire accuracy.

For ammunition, the Salvo 50 Rnd Fast Mag is ideal. You can down several enemies without ever having to reload, and you’ll also have increased reload speed.

Best perks to use with Cold War’s MP5 in Warzone Season 2

Not only are your weapons important in a Warzone loadout, but your choice of perks can also make or break a class. Here are the perks you should be running with Black Ops Cold War’s MP5 in Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
  • Perk 3: Amped

A major part of Warzone is the lethal equipment at your disposal. Before pushing a room, enemies will lob a bombardment of grenades, rockets, and explosives inside. If you have any hope of surviving, you’ll need the E.O.D perk equipped.

The MP5 is best suited as a secondary weapon, so you want to run Overkill to carry two primaries. If you’re really feeling the MP5 love, you could equip both the Cold War and Modern Warfare versions. Make a duplicate loadout with Ghost instead, and you can swap the Perks out when you get another loadout and keep the weapons.

There’s nothing worse than running out of ammo in a firefight, where you’ll need to quickly swap weapons to have a chance. So for perk 3, the Amped Perk will allow you to swap weapons insanely fast, which is vital in a firefight.

How to unlock Cold War’s MP5 in Warzone

To unlock Cold War’s MP5 in Warzone, you simply need to reach Level 4. You’ll manage this after only a game or two, so you can essentially use it straight away. Then once you’ve unlocked it, use it as much as you can and take advantage of Double XP events to rank it up fast.

Best Cold War MP5 alternatives in Warzone

The MP5 is best suited for close-range combat, so if you’re looking for alternatives, the MAC-10 and Gallo SA12 are solid choices. They destroy enemies at close-range, which is exactly what you want in a secondary. Of course, there’s always Modern Warfare’s MP5 too.

Use Cold War’s MP5 with these attachments and perks, and you’ll find yourself running one of the best SMGs Warzone has to offer.

If you’re looking to overhaul your Call of Duty: Warzone loadouts, you can check out our guides on some of the weapons dominating the meta right now.

PSA: the latest iOS update fixes security flaws, so install it as soon as you can

Putting off iOS updates for a week or two is generally fine, but it’s probably a good idea to download the latest one, iOS 14.4.2, as soon as you can. It fixes a security flaw that Apple says may have been exploited out in the wild (via MacRumors). The update also applies to iPadOS, so take a couple of minutes out of your day to go to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple’s update notes, the security flaw allowed for universal cross-site scripting. In other words, a malicious website or script could gain access to information from other webpages you have open, which isn’t great, especially since Apple says that some sites may be doing this.

As I said back in January when Apple released a similar update, this doesn’t mean it’s time to completely lock down your phone and treat it like it’s radioactive until you can get it updated. Just stay clear of sketchy websites (which is good advice in general), and update your phone sooner rather than later.

A new Windows 10 update fixes the issue where some printers would crash computers

Microsoft is fixing the issue where trying to use certain printers would freak out your Windows 10 computer and cause it to blue screen. If you (or your IT department) have been dealing with the issue, today’s update should let you get back to printing.

In the update notes, Microsoft says that the issue only affected “certain printers using some apps,” but doesn’t clarify which. It seemed to impact some printers from Kyocera, Ricoh, and Zebra, and if you owned one it’s the type of error that would be extremely annoying — or worse, workflow-breaking, if printing’s a need and not something you just do occasionally.

If this issue has been affecting you, you can download the update by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and clicking Check for Updates. Hopefully, after updating, your printer and computer can go back to being friends again. May the ink once again meet the paper, and your computer not have to be rebooted from a hard crash.

Black Ops Cold War Feb 27 patch notes: stability & UI fixes

As well as adding new maps and content to Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch has also changed up some of the game’s existing maps – namely Cartel – in Season 2.

The subtle alteration of an original map can transform it from being one of the game’s older maps to feeling completely fresh and revitalized. Treyarch had already announced that the much-maligned Miami map would be getting a more eye-pleasing version of itself later in Season 2.

In the meantime, as well as the new Apocalypse map, we also get a more updated version of one of the game’s founding maps – Cartel.

Whereas maps like Moscow and Crossroads have flourished and become popular fan-favorites in Black Ops Cold War, Cartel has suffered a more muted reception.

It’s not a bad map, but it gained negative reception, as early as its Beta testing, due to the large bushes that obscure crucial portions of the map.

These obtrusive hedges have finally been acknowledged by Treyarch who finally heard the Black Ops Cold War crowd, and duly chopped them down.

The Official Treyarch blog posted pictures showing the before and after saying:

“On Cartel, we brought in the hedge trimmers and made several requested cover adjustments throughout the map, reducing the height of the bushes in certain locations to make engagements more predictable.”

There’s definitely a big improvement in the map as your line of sight is a lot more clear, and it allows you to see more clearly from one side of the map to the other.

Whereas engagements had an element of unpredictability about them before, they are now more full-on, allowing for greater comfort moving around the map.

With all the changes that Season 2 has made thus far, such as new Operator bundles and the exhilarating new Outbreak mode, it’s good to see Treyarch updating older content too.

Black Ops Cold War Feb 10 patch notes: bug fixes across modes

There are only a few weeks left until the end of Black Ops Cold War Season 1, meaning that Season 2 is swiftly on the horizon. To ensure happy hunting, here are 5 things we want to see in Treyarch’s newest CoD season.

You have to imagine that Treyarch has been hard at work on Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War from the moment that Season 1 dropped. Dropping a boatload of content is no easy feat and requires a lot of work to make happen after all.

Season 1 has offered cool weapons such as the MAC-10 & Streetsweeper, remakes of Raid & Express, and new game modes like Dropkick. However, there is plenty of room for improvement, and here are five easy ways that Treyarch can make Season 2 even better and more enjoyable in the latest Call of Duty game.

5. Old & new maps in BOCW Season 2

Needless to say that Black Ops Cold War probably could’ve had more maps at launch instead of spreading them out periodically throughout the game’s release. Thanks to updates and new content, the game now has 12 different “6v6” maps for players to enjoy.

Now, a leaker claimed weeks ago that 8 more map remakes were coming. Since that post, Express has taken a train ride into the 1980s, and we could easily see more on the way too. The Pines is a superb, original map and it would be nice to see a couple of new maps in addition to a couple of remakes too.

4. New, exciting game modes in BOCW Season 2

One thing that Black Ops Cold War is definitely not short of is a veritable selection of game modes for players to indulge in. Between Standard, Hardcore, and a plethora of other playlist options there are so many options for players.

But some fan-favorite modes are still conspicuously absent and there’s always room for originality and ingenuity too.

3. Better Spawns in BOCW Season 2

We can’t think of a Call of Duty game in recent memory that has had such unusually placed spawns. Several maps such as Crossroads, Armada, and Satellite all possess blatantly exposed spawn areas that leave players susceptible to a litany of consecutive deaths.

We can forgive this kind of thing occurring on a small map like Nuketown ’84, but it really shouldn’t be happening on mid-to-large-sized maps. Hopefully Treyarch has realized this and has revaluated the game’s spawn system.

2. Less bugs & glitches in BOCW Season 2

We acknowledge this is probably more difficult than it sounds, but fewer bugs would make for a wholesome experience.

In Season 1 alone, we’ve had Raid becoming Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road, a glitch that makes players invisible, and even a bug that left players legless. We’re not asking for perfection, but maybe fewer bugs, and allow us to retain more of our limbs.

1. Improved scoring system in BOCW Season 2

It’s no secret that Black Ops Cold War’s scoring system is horribly unbalanced. Regardless of the mode you’re playing, the game actively encourages players to focus on kills, kills, and nothing but kills.

A player that ignores the objective to get a 10 killstreak will greatly benefit far more than someone who’s spent the whole game focusing on capturing flags in Domination and locking down Hardpoints. There’s little incentive to concentrate on objectives and Treyarch absolutely needs to address this.

These are five key things we think could make Black Ops Cold War one of the best Call of Duty games ever if they could all happen.

Some potential information about leaked weapons for Season 2 has already become public knowledge, and we’ll be sure to update you once Treyarch starts rolling out the new information officially.

Apex Legends Season 8 early patch notes: Legends buffs, bug fixes, more

Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem update is due to drop on February 2, and although patch notes aren’t expected until right before the update goes live, we already know of a bunch of confirmed changes and fixes coming. Here’s an early look at what the patch notes are expected to include.

Obviously, the main changes will be the addition of the new Legend, Fuse, who hails from Salvo, as well as the new weapon – the 30-30 repeater.

Kings Canyon will also be massively changed, as Fuse’s entrance to the Apex games did not go smoothly and his old friend Maggie crashed the party – literally.

But, the most exciting part of the patch notes themselves will be seeing how Respawn has adjusted the various Legends with nerfs and buffs, plus some of the quality of life changes planned.

Apex Legends Season 8: Early patch notes

New Legend: Fuse

Straight from Salvo, Fuse is an explosive Legend, and his abilities reflect this. He can shoot projectiles from his prosthetic arm, and his ultimate will shoot a mortar-like missile, which explodes into a ring of fire.

Fuse Abilities:

  • Passive: Grenadier – Fuse’s mechanical arm throws ordnances farther, faster and more accurately. Fuse can also stack more grenades per inventory slot than other Legends.
  • Tactical: Knuckle Cluster – Deploy a cluster bomb that splinters out mini-concussion mines.
  • Ultimate: The Motherlode – Bring out Fuse’s rocket launcher “Wally” to drop an ordnance that surrounds the target in a ring of flames.
Respawn Entertainment

New Weapon: 30-30 Repeater

We didn’t get a new weapon in Season 7, but we are in Season 8. Fuse brings the 30-30 repeater straight from Salvo. It’s a lever-action rifle that packs a punch.

It uses the Heavy Ammo type, but shots can be charged too.

Respawn Entertainment

The 30-30 Repeater will be added to the loot pool this February.

Kings Canyon map changes

The arrival of Fuse has obliterated Kings Canyon. Original POIs including Slum Lakes and Artillery have been destroyed, and there is a new hue to the map.

Respawn Entertainment

A massive explosion on Kings Canyon has completely changed the map.

New Season 8 Battle Pass: Mayhem

As always, there will be a fresh battle pass for the new season, which will include over 100 items.

We don’t know if there will be any changes to the battle pass system yet, like there was in Season 7.

Legend changes

These are the Legend buffs and nerfs that Respawn have said will be coming in Season 8. Check out a full explanation and details on each change here.

Note: This is not a final list of all Legends that are getting changes in the Season 8 update.

Rampart

  • Adding 45 health to her Amped Cover

Wraith

  • Respawn say they are looking at changes to Wraith’s hitbox, to bring her in line with other Legends.

Horizon

  • Respawn are looking at nerfs to her tactical ability, but haven’t confirmed the exact changes they’re making yet.

Revenant

  • Respawn have been struggling to find a good buff for Revenant, but are looking at hitbox adjustments

Wattson

  • Respawn are looking for ways to make Wattson more fun, without making her more powerful

Mirage

  • Fix for decoys making footstep noise – this was originally in the Fight Night patch notes, but has been removed and will be coming in a future update, possibly with Season 8.

Caustic

  • Caustic hammer breaking doors – this was also originally in the Fight Night patch notes, but has been removed and will be coming in a future patch, possibly with Season 8.
Respawn Entertainment

Horizon is due for a slight nerf in Season 8.

New Item: Gold Magazines

  • Gold Magazines: Automatically reloads holstered weapons, has a 5.5 second delay.
  • New hop-up for the Sentinel – unknown

Returning Items

Not confirmed yet, but it appears the Anvil Receiver hop up will be back in Season 8.

Quality of Life

  • In-game damage tracker added

Bug Fixes

  • Heirloom store not showing all Heirlooms
  • Players told they are buying Gibraltar’s Heirloom when buying Caustic’s Heirloom
  • Legend skins for Mirage and Bangalore affecting aim down sights
  • Errors relating to private matches
  • Players can’t hear each other in cross-play lobbies

Ranked Play

A new Ranked Series will begin at the start of Season 8: Ranked Series 7. The first split will take place on Kings Canyon, and run until March 23. The Second split will be on Olympus. No World’s Edge in Ranked play.

Full Ranked Play changes can be seen here.

  • Earn placement RP earlier in a match
    • RP rewards begin at placement 13 instead of 10 in a match.
  • Kill/Assist count has been raised to 6
    • Earn RP for more of your kills and assists in a given match.
    • This is a slight nudge to give really good players a slightly faster trip back to their competitive rank, while giving our top tier players more ways to pull ahead of the pack in the Predator ranks.
  • Assist Threshold Increased to 10 seconds
    • Earn assists for up to 10 seconds (up from 7.5 seconds) after dealing damage to a target that is killed by someone else.
  • Predator has been increased to the top 750 players
    • Allowing more players to enter predator should improve queue times while remaining an exclusive tier for the highest levels of play.
  • Matchmaking Tightening
    • Players below Diamond will matchmake much more often within their own Ranks.
  • Skydive Trails return
    • In Season 8, Diamond Skydive Trails will be making a return as a ranked reward.

Season 8 Collection Event

Data miners have uncovered files related to an Anniversary Collection Event in Season 8. Although collection events typically start midway through the Season, this time it could potentially start earlier, given that the 2-year anniversary of Apex Legends is February 4 – two days after Season 8 starts.

That’s everything we know at the moment about what’s coming in the Season 8 update patch notes.

We’ll keep you updated with more changes as they come, and of course when Respawn releases the full patch notes.

Cyberpunk 2077’s new 1.11 update fixes a game-breaking bug

Cyberpunk 2077’s big new 1.1 patch introduced a game-breaking bug earlier this week, and now Developer CD Projekt Red is fixing it. A new 1.11 hotfix is available across PC, Stadia, and Xbox / PlayStation consoles today. While it also restores item randomization to a previous state, the primary purpose is to fix the game-breaking part of the “Down on the Street” quest.

The quest includes a holocall that’s supposed to trigger progress through the main part of Cyberpunk 2077’s storyline, but some players found the call was silent and blocked progress of the game. CD Projekt Red published a workaround after a few hours, and has now followed up with a hotfix after the problem was spotted earlier this week.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been plagued by bugs since its release on December 10th, and this marks the fourth hotfix release to quickly fix problems. Most of the bugs and issues haven’t been game-breaking like this one, and it’s encouraging to see CD Projekt Red fix the problem after just a few days.

CD Projekt Red is also planning another major 1.2 patch that is supposed to be a “larger, more significant update” that will arrive in the coming weeks.
