Texas A&M vs. Miami score: Live game updates, college football scores, NCAA top 25 highlights today

No. 24 Texas A&M seems poised to bounce back after its stunning upset loss to Appalachian State last weekend, taking a 17-6 lead over No. 13 Miami into the fourth quarter on Saturday. The Aggies got a 25-yard touchdown from Devon Achane for their only third-quarter score to make it 17-3, and are driving as the teams switch ends of the field.

A big factor in the second half has been the play of quarterback Max Johnson — particularly as a runner. The LSU transfer, who is making his first start for the Aggies, had 26 yards rushing in the third quarter and took a ton of pressure off of Achane in the process. It’ll be fascinating to see how Miami tries to neutralize that threat in the fourth quarter, which was clearly one of the adjustments coach Jimbo Fisher made in the locker room at halftime.

One of the big stories in this game has been special teams. Albert Regis got up high on Andres Borregales’ field goal attempt midway through the second quarter and blocked what would have been a 36-yard field goal to make it 10-6. That came one quarter after Hurricanes returner Tyrique Stevenson attempted to pick up a bouncing punt before getting popped and fumbling on the 28-yard line. The Hurricanes moved 28 yards on three plays, and the drive culminated with a 1-yard touchdown run by LJ Johnson Jr. to make it a 10-3 game at the time.
