Still, the moment that stands out from the first half is Penn State punting on a third-and-11. Not because it chose that course of action but due to the officials mistakenly marked the play as a fourth down despite Penn State’s protests. Thankfully, the game wasn’t impacted in a significant way. Auburn was forced to punt on the ensuing possession, and Penn State responded with that 91-yard touchdown drive to take a 14-10 lead. Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford is 16 of 20 passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns so far, while Auburn QB Bo Nix has completed 11 of 17 passes for 99 yards.
