College football’s Week 1 marathon of games featured a big Thursday night ticket and is highlighted by an all-day Saturday slate, but Friday night brings us some quality action, too, as several power conference teams will begin their seasons in the national spotlight. The Friday docket was highlighted by a pair of upsets: Virginia Tech took down No. 10 North Carolina in the first top-25 upset of the season. Meanwhile, Charlotte earned its first win over a Power Five team in the program’s young history with a 31-28 thriller over Duke.
The nightcap features a Big Ten showdown between Michigan State and Northwestern among its eight total games. Colorado and Kansas are also in action. All in all, it should be another fun night of action as the 2021 season prepares to hit full stride.
