Avalanche vs. Lightning Stanley Cup Final Game 4 score: Cirelli scores early, gives Tampa Bay 1-0 lead

The Stanley Cup Final is getting interesting. After the Avalanche won the first two games of the series — including a 7-0 Game 2 rout — the Lightning needed to win Game 3 at home. Win they did. That’s what a team like Tampa — which is trying to win its third consecutive championship — does: win big games.

The Lightning now get a shot at tying the series in Florida on Wednesday night. Being at home is vital to the Lightning, as they have won a franchise-record eight straight home playoff games. Altogether in these playoffs, Tampa is 8-1 at home.

If the Avalanche want to hand the Lightning a second home loss of this postseason, its offense will need to find better ways to score. In Game 3, which was the Avs’ first road loss of the postseason, Colorado couldn’t conquer Tampa goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy despite outshooting the Lightning, 39-34.

We’ll find out if Colorado’s offense can get back on track, with puck drop shortly after 8 p.m. on ESPN and streaming on fuboTV (try for free)  Follow below for CBS Sports’ live coverage of Game 4.
