Douglas and Sarpy/Cass county health departments released separate statements Sunday announcing those ages 16 and older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine starting Monday, April 5. Previously, Sarpy/Cass was prioritizing those ages 55 and older in the county and Douglas was prioritizing those ages 45 and older. In Sarpy and Cass counties, people under the age of 19 must have a parent or legal guardian at the time of the vaccination appointment. In Douglas county, that same rule applies for residents 18 and younger. Residents 16 and older are eligible to get the Pfizer vaccine. Residents 18 and older are eligible to receive the Johnson & Johnson and the Moderna vaccines.
