“It is such a white area.”
Zöe Kravitz is wowing audiences worldwide as Catwoman in The Batman.
Of course, Zöe’s been a star for years — and you probably watched her in the HBO series Big Little Lies.
In an interview with the Observer, Zöe talked about her experience filming the series while revealing that her character, Bonnie Howard Carlson, was “originally written for a white person.”
Big Little Lies was primarily shot in the setting of Monterey, California, and Zöe said that filming in the location was “a little uncomfortable” at times.
“There were a few moments where I felt a little uncomfortable because it is such a white area,” she explained.
Zöe also said that she felt that way in Monterey because of “weird racist people in bars and things like that.”
You might’ve read earlier today that Zöe also revealed that she was rejected from The Dark Knight Rises because of her skin color.
“Being a woman of color and being an actor, and being told at that time that I wasn’t able to read because of the color of my skin, and the word ‘urban’ being thrown around like that, that was what was really hard about that moment,” she said.
