Zack Snyder’s Justice League Promo Features Deathstroke’s New Look

Deathstroke will have a bigger role to play in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, with a recent promo featuring the character’s new look, mohawk and all.

A new promo for Zack Snyder’s Justice League features Deathstroke, played by Joe Manganiello, and the character’s new look.

Deathstroke’s look in the Snyder Cut of Justice League is drastically different than what was featured in the end credits of the 2017 theatrical release. As part of Snyder’s original vision, the 30-second trailer offers a closeup of the mercenary’s new mohawk and battle-worn armor. Don’t worry, though: that eyepatch will never go out of style.

Manganiello debuted this new look in Nov. 2020, but this is the first time the mercenary and his new haircut have been featured in promos for the Justice League, which have been steadily released in the days leading up to the four-hour film’s HBO Max debut. Manganiello has stated in the past that there is an in-story reason for his character’s new look, though it has not yet been confirmed.

A haircut isn’t the only new character concept for Deathstroke, as it was also confirmed that the Snyder Cut will feature an unlikely partnership between him and Ben Affleck’s Batman.

The synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League reads:

In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne aligns forces with Diana Prince with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film arrives on HBO Max March 18.
