Jennifer Garner was doing double duty in her latest social media post.

The 49-year-old actress is playing a wood worker in her next project and so decided to put her training to good work, using the final product as a birthday gift for her friend, Reese Witherspoon.

‘When your friend is your boss lady and your next role is a wood turner by trade, your friend gets the very first bowl you make. ♥️ Happy birthday, dreammaker (sic) @reesewitherspoon.’

The Adam Project star will take a turn in the upcoming The Last Thing He Told Me for Apple TV+ based on the Laura Dave novel by the same name. 

The mystery focuses on Hannah, a woman who gets closer to her stepdaughter after her husband goes missing. 

The project is being developed by Reese’s Hello Sunshine production company and Jen tagged both in her post, along with her ‘patient’ wood working teacher, custom furniture maker Aaron Hauser.

The Yes Day actress is replacing Julia Roberts, who had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. 

In the video, the novice wood turner is wearing black boots, torn blue jeans and a navy blue sweater can be seen putting on a safety helmet with a face shield to protect from any flying debris.

She then learns how to use the spindle and a chisel to shape the bowl. She then sands and oils it.

After showing off the finished product, the mom of three set a good example for her kids, and anyone watching, by grabbing a large vacuum hose and cleaning up the shavings.
