Jason told the site on Wednesday they are truly blessed and feel lucky that they are expecting.

‘The hardest part probably was having four alarms set every day for months taking medicine,’ added his wife.

‘And one time Lauren had to be rushed to the ER because of unbearable pain a few days after the egg retrieval. Not to sound cliché, but it really has brought us even closer together because we have never been through this before, and it’s been really special supporting each other.’

Kennedy then said their faith helped: ‘There is an overall sense of peace because of our faith in God, and then it just comes down to our incredible friends and family who walked closely with us through it all.’

They also shared that Lauren’s twin sister – they were both welcomed by IVF – was the first person they told they were expecting then they called their parents.

In July Lauren told People it was a ‘blessing’ to have IVF: ‘I’m committed to this journey, and it’s a blessing, no matter what, because this could result in something so incredible.

‘It’s such an amazing method of enhancing your fertility and having a sweet baby come into the world … [I’m] really just trying to make the best of it by being grateful and flipping the script and just embracing it fully.’

And she said it was ‘cool’ that she and her twin sister were conceived with the help of IVF: ‘My parents did it years ago. [They’ve] always been super open about it, so I feel like they’ve taught me with that as well,’ said Scruggs.

‘Well this one right here gave me a scare last night,’ he posted on Instagram. ‘A trip to the ER for severe pain post egg retrieval but our doctor assured us this morning that everything will be ok.

‘She’s STRONG and will be back on her feet in no time. This is where nurse Jason steps in with that 24/7 love and care. Oh and slide 2 is bunny, she requested he stay close at all times.’

Lauren and Jason have publicly shared the very difficult process in medically conceiving a child with their millions of followers.

‘I have truly been feeling so grateful for every part of this process,’ she recently wrote online. ‘It was an internal struggle initially to make the decision to start ivf because holistic routes are always my go-to, but after so much prayer, this path was the clear next step and so much peace is behind it.’

The pair wed in Texas in 2015 and started trying for a family four years later.

‘Whenever i get a shot or take medicine, instead of subconsciously feeling guilty, i thank God for how it is helping my body during this time + am so grateful for this opportunity, the amazing doctors, and the community of friends doing ivf at the same time as me,’ she wrote online. This mentality has shifted everything for me.

‘Every time a shot hurts or if i am tired, i am so reminded of the most beautiful attribute behind having kiddos that i have learned from the sweet parents around me – there is nothing better to sacrifice for and this minimal discomfort is so temporary.’
