While she still faces paying a $10.3 million judgment, Amber Heard hasn’t let that stop her from continuing to make money. As TMZ first revealed, and property records do indeed confirm, the “Aquaman” actress’s mysterious and formerly secret Yucca Valley, Calif. hideaway has quietly changed hands, despite the house never being publicly listed for sale. The covert deal was inked for nearly $1.1 million, or almost double the $570,000 Heard paid for the Mojave Desert digs only three years ago, back in the early days of 2019.
The big profit isn’t surprising, as desert home values have soared since the COVID-19 pandemic. Records show the all-cash buyers, a non-famous married couple, have no previously known connection to Heard: he’s a Las Vegas-based entrepreneur in the insurance industry, she’s his longtime wife and secretary.
Though it was the primary Heard residence for several years — and photos clearly taken at the property were posted to her public Instagram account in recent months — the home’s existence didn’t become widespread knowledge until this May, when Heard stated her town of residence in publicly televised testimony during the media circus that was the Depp v. Heard defamation trial.
No word yet on the next stop for the Heard real estate train, but Elon Musk’s former girlfriend has reportedly been living in the Hamptons in recent months, or practically a world away from the desolate landscape of her former Yucca Valley neighborhood.
Still, some could argue there’s something peculiarly beautiful about this particular six-acre property, in all its rocky and forbidding natural glory. Built in 2015 and situated about 10 miles due west of Joshua Tree National Park, the house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms in more than 2,400 square feet. Other amenities include an attached three-car garage, concrete floors, LED lighting throughout, a surround sound system and a very custom, 110-foot wooden bridge in the backyard.
