Alec Baldwin shops in Vermont amid ‘Rust’ shooting investigation

Alec Baldwin surfaced in Vermont town on Thursday, a week after fatally shooting a cinematographer and injuring his director when his prop gun was improperly loaded on the set of the Western “Rust” in New Mexico.

Baldwin was seen wearing a green flannel shirt, penny loafers without socks and a surgical mask as he was dropped off at Manchester Center’s Polo by Ralph Lauren outlet store by his wife Hilaria, who drove him around town in a large black SUV Thursday, exclusive photos showed.

The 63-year-old actor had also shaved off the heavy beard that he was sporting for the ill-fated Western flick — which suggested production of the film has been indefinitely halted amid the investigation — and walked around slightly hunched over with his head down, at one point covering his eyes with his hand.

The sighting in the town of about 4,000 came a day after the actor tweeted an article about the shooting investigation that pointed the finger at assistant director Dave Halls, who told investigators that he should have checked all the rounds of the .45 Long Colt prop gun before handing the weapon to Baldwin.

The gun, which had been used recreationally by the film crew, contained a live round, which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza, officials said.

Authorities in New Mexico had refused to rule out charges against Baldwin — who was also producing the film — or his co-workers, saying “an arrest or arrests will be made,” if they find criminality in the case.
