Aaron Carter was looking forward to a bright and sober future just months before he was found dead in a bathtub at age 34 this weekend.
The pop star discussed how he’d become the best version of himself after recently completing rehab in one of his final previously unseen interviews.
The August 7 chat took place with KFC chicken heiress Kaila Methven on the pilot episode of her K’LA Afterdark talk show.

Asked about his sobriety following his fourth round of treatment, Aaron replied: ‘I think I turned into the real, true authentic version of myself.
‘I went into to rehab four times I finally got it right’.
In September, Aaron was back in rehab for the fifth time, despite claiming he hadn’t relapsed, in an outpatient program to address his ‘triggers’.

The I’m All About You singer, who has previously said he was bisexual, also raised his personal life in a discussion with Methven about enjoying ‘all naked bodies’.
‘I think men are beautiful, I think women are beautiful,’ he said candidly.
‘I think anybody who is transgender is gorgeous. I’ve even dated a transgender woman before.’
The St. Petersburg, Florida native went public with the revelation that he was bisexual in 2017, but later said that the comments were ‘misconstrued’.

‘I see myself being with a woman and having kids. I want to have a family,’ he told Hollywood Life the following year.
‘It was moreso just a story that happened when I was like 17 with somebody, and I can find men and women attractive,’ said the Saturday Night artist, ‘but when it comes down to it, I think it was a little misconstrued.’

I know that he had suffered many problems in the past, but it was a completely different person that I interviewed, that’s why it’s so important for me to show the world, a different aspect of Aaron Carter, and that’s what my show is really about, is showing people what celebrities are really like, not what they are portrayed to be.’

Police said Carter drowned, but have not elaborated on how the tragedy happened.
The singer has previously admitted to having a huffing addiction.
Huffing, ‘involves inhaling (or ‘huffing’) fumes from run-of-the-mill household products, such as glue, cleaning products or paint – which produces a high that is similar to the effects of alcohol.’

Last month Aaron’s fans were so worried about the singer, they called police to ask officers to check on him.
TMZ had reported the requests for a welfare check came in the evening of Tuesday, September 20, after fans were worried the star might be doing drugs off-camera while streaming a live chat on social media.
The screen went black during the online conversation and some fans thought they could hear spraying and inhaling going on in the background.

The Fool’s Gold artist, who previously revealed he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and anxiety, claimed online he was ‘the troll hunter’ and sprayed what appeared to be air freshener. He explained the actions as a joke to TMZ saying, ‘I’m tired of people coming after me, so I trolled everybody.’
The incident happened just a couple of days after the troubled singer went online threatening to sue his on-again/off-again girlfriend Martin, who accused him of domestic abuse at one time, but later recanted.
Both Aaron and Melanie have lost custody of their son, Prince, who is being cared for by his maternal grandmother.
Aaron claimed he has voluntarily checked into a month-long outpatient program through Lionrock Recovery so he can regain custody of the boy.
