A mother and her boyfriend are now facing charges after her 6-year-old son from Middletown was reported missing.Police said the mother, 29-year-old Brittany Gosney, reported her son missing Sunday morning from the 500 block of Crawford Street. Investigators said 29-year-old Brittany Gosney and 42-year-old James Hamilton told police 6-year-old James Hutchinson was killed in Preble County a few days ago, brought the body back to Middletown where they live, and put him into the Ohio River.Trained search and rescue teams are attempting to recover James’s body. Gosney is facing charges of murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Hamilton is facing charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.The Middletown Police Department is working with the Preble County Sheriff’s Office, the Preble County Prosecutor and the Butler County Prosecutor.
