Naomi Watts looks glamourous in NYC after revealing she was told her career would be OVER at 40

Naomi Watts turned heads as she stepped out into the bustling streets of New York City earlier on Monday afternoon.

The award-winning actress, 54, made a fashion statement as she walked on the wet sidewalk wearing a sparkling pink dress.

The mother of two recently opened up in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about her struggles of perimenopause and how she rejected the idea that once she turned 40, she would be, ‘no longer hirable’ in Hollywood.

Stunning: Naomi Watts, 54, made a fashionable appearance as she stepped out into the busy streets of New York City earlier on Monday

The King Kong star opted for a pop of color during her busy day and donned a glittering pink dress that fell down past her knees.

The high-necked gown was covered with a black coat to stay warm in the cooler fall temperatures.

A belt made of the same material was tied securely to accentuate her slim waist. Naomi slipped into a pair of dark red shoes to complete her stunning ensemble.

The talented actress added a pair of large, round sunglasses for a classy touch and to protect her eyes from the bright flashes from the paparazzi’s cameras.

Big smile: The talented actress was pictured sending a smile to the cameras as she quickly walked to her awaiting car

To accessorize her look, the beauty added a pair of dangly, glittering earrings along with a stylish ring on her right hand.

A large black purse was slung over her right shoulder to hold a few items she needed during her exciting outing in the big apple.

Her short, blonde hair was parted to the side, and fell down straight to almost brush her shoulders.

Naomi added a bright, red lipstick to coincide with the color of her heels for a finishing touch.

Chic: The award-winning star opted for a pop of color and donned a shimmering pink dress and red high heels

Staying warm: Naomi chose to add a thick black coat to stay warm in the cooler, rainy fall weather

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Naomi opened up about issues with aging in Hollywood, and what she had personally faced.

‘I was told, ‘You better get a lot done because it’s all over at 40 when you become unf—able.’ And I’m like, ‘What? What does that mean exactly?’ she honestly expressed.

‘Then you think about it, and you go, ‘Oh, right. When you are no longer reproductive, when those organs are no longer functioning, you are not sexy, so, therefore, you are not hirable.’ That just made me so mad,’ the actress added.

Naomi also revealed that she entered menopause early, which similarly also happened to her mother.

‘I heard the word menopause mentioned to me right at the precipice of when I wanted to start creating a family, so you can imagine the panic.’

However, in her late thirties and at the age of 40, Naomi welcomed two children to the world, whom she shares with her ex, Liev Schreiber.

The Impossible actress expressed that women aging in Hollywood shouldn’t be something looked down upon, nor should their be a time stamp.

‘We’ve got important and powerful experiences as well at this age that we should feel proud of,’ she stated.

To better normalize menopause, the talented star created her own greeting cards called the Naomi Watts Menopause Collection. She stated that her vision of the brand needed ‘humor’ and that she, ‘wanted it to be fun.’

‘I was pretty sure there was a space for something to happen in a different way, where [women could talk about menopause] and not have this same retelling of it as a spooky, scary, painful time.’

‘The mission of the brand is to end the stigma, and get rid of the confusion and the mystery, and to debunk myths. We want to get it as normalized as we possibly can because we’re living longer,’ the mother of two added to the publication.

Horror genre: Naomi has been diving into the thriller and horror genres by starring in projects such as Amazon’s Goodnight Mommy; seen in September in NYC

‘Spider-Man’ Helmer Jon Watts Exits Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Jon Watts has withdrawn as the director of Fantastic Four, the reinvention of the venerable Marvel Comics series at Marvel Studios and Disney. Watts just directed Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios film that grossed $1.89 billion to become the sixth highest grossing film of all-time. Nothing sinister here; Watts just needs a break from the superhero realm after completing the Spidey trilogy with Tom Holland and Zendaya. He had expected to make Fantastic Four his next film, the third feature iteration of that franchise and first since Disney acquired Fox, which controlled the franchise. Watts has spent the better part of the last decade directing and promoting the Spider-Man films, after being hired off Cop Car, a small budget indie thriller that premiered at 2015 Sundance. He needs a breather.

Both Watts and Marvel confirmed his exit, and said that it is amicable.

Said Kevin Feige, president, Marvel Studios and Louis D’Esposito, co-president, Marvel Studios: “Collaborating with Jon on the Spider-Man films has been a true pleasure. We were looking forward to continuing our work with him to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU but understand and are supportive of his reasons for stepping away. We are optimistic that we will have the opportunity to work together again at some point down the road.

Watts said that “Making three Spider-Man films was an incredible and life changing experience for me. I’m eternally grateful to have been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven years. I’m hopeful we’ll work together again and I can’t wait to see the amazing vision for Fantastic Four brought to life.”

Sony and its Spider-Man producers have made it clear they expect to reunite Watts with Holland ad Zendaya to continue the series. Watts hasn’t officially dropped out of  that franchise, but if it were to happen, it does sound like it would be down the road.

Watts has another strong project that might become his next outing as a director. Last September, Apple Studios won a brisk auction for an untitled film Watts will write and direct, with George Clooney and Brad Pitt playing rival “fixers” who find themselves simultaneously hired for the same job. That film’s deal calls for Apple to give the film a robust theatrical release before it hits Apple TV+. Watts is producing that film with Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Watts is repped by CAA and attorney Gregory Slewett.

Monday Night Football: T.J. Watt’s four sacks carry Steelers to 26-14 win over Browns

Getty Images

If it’s the last game at Heinz Field for Ben Roethlisberger, he’s going out with a victory.

Dionate Johnson caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Roethlisberger, Chris Boswell kicked four field goals, and the Pittsburgh defense sacked Baker Mayfield nine times — four of which came from T.J. Watt — in a 26-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Monday night.

Watt’s four sacks give him 21.5 sacks for the season, which puts him just one sack behind the NFL record of 22.5 by Michael Strahan in the 2001 season with the New York Giants.

Watt is the first Steelers player with four sacks in a game since Joey Porter had four against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2001. He is the third player this season to have at least four sacks in a game, joining Myles Garrett of the Browns (4.5 vs. Chicago) and Chandler Jones of the Arizona Cardinals (5.0 against Tennessee).

The victory for Pittsburgh secures their 18th straight season without a losing record. They will finish no worse than 8-8-1 this season. That covers the entirety of Roethlisberger’s tenure in Pittsburgh.

While it was Roethlisberger’s stage, it was Watt, the Steelers defense, and Najee Harris that led the way to victory.

Harris rushed for 188 yards on 28 carries and surpassed Franco Harris’ record for the most rushing yards by a rookie in Steelers team history. Harris had 1,055 rushing yards in 14 games as a rookie in 1972. Harris finished the night at 1,172 for the season. The 188 yards are the eighth-most by a Steelers player in history.

Watt carried the stellar pass rushing effort for Pittsburgh as well. Watt, Alex Highsmith (2.0), Cam Heyward, Henry Mondeaux and Derrek Tuszka combined for the nine-sack night for the Steelers defense.

Roethlisberger finished the night with 123 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception on 46 attempts.

After Johnson’s touchdown give the Steelers on the board, Chris Boswell kicked field goals of 22 and 30 yards to take a 13-0 lead into halftime.

A sack from Jadeveon Clowney of Roethlisberger backed the Steelers up to their own 4-yard line. After a punt, Donovan Peoples-Jones picked up 39 yards on a catch-and-run through the Steelers secondary to get into scoring position. After two runs from Nick Chubb inched the Browns closer, David Njoku‘s 3-yard touchdown got the Browns on the board.

Boswell stretched the lead back out again with field goals from 50 and 48 yards to make it a 19-7 game with just 5:48 left.

Harrison Bryant caught a 1-yard touchdown from Mayfield to trim the lead to 19-14 with 1:10 left. Then Harris broke free for a 37-yard touchdown run after the Steelers recovered an onside kick to put the game away.

Roethlisberger kneeled out the victory after Tre Norwood intercepted Mayfield with 10 seconds left to play.

Mayfield completed 16-of-38 passes for 185 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Rolling Stones begin US tour with tribute to Charlie Watts

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood honored their bandmate of nearly six decades as they finally kicked off their pandemic-delayed “No Filter” tour at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Sunday night.

The show opened to an empty stage with just a drum beat, as pictures and videos of Watts were projected on four huge screens.

When the group emerged, Jagger shared with a packed stadium that: “It was really quite emotional, seeing those pictures of Charlie up on the big screen.”

A spokesperson for the musician told CNN at the time that Watts had passed away peacefully in a London hospital, surrounded by his family, adding that he was “one of the greatest drummers of his generation.”

It was previously announced that Watts wouldn’t take part in the tour while he recovered from an unspecified medical procedure.

Jagger made it clear ahead of Sunday’s concert that Watts’ absence on stage would be felt.

“I must say though, at this point, it’s a bit of a poignant night for us because it’s our first tour in 59 years that we’ve done without our lovely Charlie Watts. And we all miss Charlie so much,” he said in a video shared on Instagram.

“We miss him as a band, we miss him as a friend on and off the stage and we’ve got so many memories of Charlie — and I’m sure some of you that have seen us before have got memories of Charlie as well.

“I hope you will remember him like we do, so we’d like to dedicate this show to Charlie.”

The legendary British rock band’s 13-date tour had been scheduled for May 2020 before the coronavirus restrictions caused it to be postponed.

The band are scheduled to make pit stops in, among others, Florida, Atlanta and Los Angeles before wrapping in Austin, Texas on November 20.

Touring musician and longtime Stones associate Steve Jordan will replace Watts on drums for the duration of the tour.

This Insane New Image of The Moon’s Tycho Carter Is So Detailed It Barely Looks Real

A new telescope system has managed to capture the highest resolution image of the Moon ever taken from Earth using radar technology.

The feat took years of work, and the result is spectacularly detailed. The focal point is Tycho Crater, one of the most prominent impressions on the Moon. And even though it was taken from hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, the picture makes you feel as though you are flying right over the surface of Earth’s only natural satellite.

The resolution of the resulting image is five meters by five meters and contains roughly 1.4 billion pixels. Together, it encompasses the entire breadth of the Tycho Crater, all 86 kilometers in diameter (53 miles), plus much more.

From this bird’s eye view, every wrinkle on the beat-up surface of the Moon seems to stand out in stark detail.

The National Science Foundation’s Green Bank Telescope (GBT) is located in West Virginia and is the world’s largest fully steerable radio telescope. This allows astronomers to point its beady eye in any direction they please.

Earlier this year, the satellite was outfitted with a new radar transmitter, developed by Raytheon Intelligence & Space, which is capable of sending pulses out into near space.

As each of these signals bounces off the surface of the Moon, it is retrieved by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO)’s Very Long Baseline Array, which is also headquartered in West Virginia.

“The stored pulses are compared to each other and analyzed to produce an image,” explains GBO engineer Galen Watts.

In January, researchers tested the system by taking a radar image of the Apollo 15 landing site, proving that they could, in fact, take high definition images from Earth.

The radar image of the Apollo 15 landing site. (Sophia Dagnello/NRAO/GBO/Raytheon/AUI/NSF/USGS)

Months later, they successfully snagged an even higher resolution image of Tycho Crater.

“The transmitter, the target, and the receivers are all constantly moving as we move through space,” explains Watts.

“While you might think this could make producing an image more difficult, it actually yields more important data.”

Because each returning radar pulse contains information from a slightly different orientation, astronomers can get more angles than a stationary observation.

This means scientists can calculate the distance to a target and the speed of that target with greater accuracy.

“Radar data like this has never been recorded before at this distance or resolution,” says Watts.

“This has been done before at distances of a few hundred kilometers, but not on the hundreds of thousands of kilometers scales of this project, and not with the high resolutions of a meter or so at these distances.”

Even just 10 years ago, Watts says it would have taken months of computing to get an image from just one received radar signal. More than that would have taken over a year.

Astronomers hope the new technology will allow us to explore parts of the Solar System we’ve never before seen, all from the comfort of our own planet.
