Troy Vincent doesn’t rule out postponement of Patriots-Bills game

Getty Images

The NFL still hasn’t decided whether, or when, the Week 17 game between the Bills and Bengals will resume. There’s another dilemma potentially looming for the league.

During a Wednesday afternoon conference call regarding the Damar Hamlin situation, NFL executive V.P. of football operations Troy Vincent didn’t rule out the possibility of postponing the Week 18 game between the Patriots and the Bills, if Bills players and coaches aren’t ready to proceed.

“We have not had that discussion,” Vincent said regarding the possibility of postponing the Buffalo game. “It’s really important that we just keep the pulse of the coach and the players, and don’t get in front of that. And we’ll allow Sean [McDermott] and his team and his staff and his players, which are the most important thing here, to guide this, if we have to make that decision collectively with the club.”

On one hand, it would be very hard to envision the Bills not playing on Week 18, when they quite possibly will never finish their Week 17 game. On the other hand, it’s impossible to expect the Bills players and coaches to proceed, if they aren’t ready to play.

Really, who would expect them to? They experienced a trauma that may not heal to the point at which they can properly gather themselves and play football again only six days later. If they can process their feelings and properly and safely perform, that’s great. If they can’t, that’s a decision that someone will have to make at the appropriate time.

Time continues to be the key word. As Steve Miller said, time keeping on slipping, slipping, slipping into the future. At some point, time makes decisions for you.

Alexis Bledel, Vincent Kartheiser to Divorce After Eight-Year Marriage – The Hollywood Reporter

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser are parting ways after eight years of marriage.

Kartheiser filed for divorce from Bledel on Aug. 10, his team confirms to The Hollywood Reporter. A representative for Bledel did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The two stars, who did not publicly share much about their relationship, tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed a son in fall 2015.

They met in 2012 on the set of Mad Men, the Emmy-winning AMC series on which Kartheiser, 43, starred as Pete Campbell. Bledel, 40, recurred as Beth Dawes on three episodes of the fifth season.

In 2014, Kartheiser explained that it was a priority for him that details of their relationship remain private. “It’s something I realized about the most important things in my life,” he told Vulture at the time. “If I share them with the world and I open that door to their fuming anger that they need to get out or their adoration that they want to flaunt, it lessens it. It cheapens it; it weakens it. And it’s magical, love, and all of that is … profoundly spiritual, and it just doesn’t feel right.”

Bledel rose to fame as Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls and earned an Emmy Award for her role as Emily on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. Additionally, she has appeared in such films as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and its sequel.

Kartheiser’s recent work includes a season three role as the Scarecrow on HBO Max’s Titans.

UK climate activists glue hands to Vincent van Gogh painting at London museum

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A pair of British climate activists glued their hands to the frame of a Vincent van Gogh painting at a London gallery Thursday to protest the government’s climate policies.

The duo – Louis McKechnie and Emily Brocklebank – are supporters of the activist group, “Just Stop Oil,” which engages in publicity stunts to bring the public’s attention to climate change.

McKechnie, 21, and Brocklebank, 24, glued themselves to Van Gogh’s 1889 painting, “Peach Trees in Blossom, which hangs at the Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House in London.

In a statement released on Just Stop Oil’s website, McKechnie called on the art world to be more proactive about fighting climate change.

“Directors of art institutions should be calling on the government to stop all new oil and gas projects immediately,” he said. “We are either in resistance or we are complicit.”

The Courtauld Gallery said it would remain closed through the end of Thursday and was expected to reopen to the public “as normal” on Friday. Fox News has reached out to the gallery for further comment.

Footage posted online by Just Stop Oil shows police responding to the climate activists.

“A piece of art receives this protection and state concern. Whilst people’s in Ethiopia, Somalia, India, Pakistan, the USA, Australia (to name a few) who are suffering from climate change NOW get ignored and left,” the group wrote. “What’s more important? This painting? Or a future”?!

The stunt came after another climate activist threw a piece of cake at Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa at the Paris’ Louvre Museum in late May.

Vincent Chiarella ID’d as one of 3 Americans found dead at Sandals Emerald Bay

An Alabama man was among those who died mysteriously at a Bahamas resort.

Vincent Chiarella of Birmingham was found dead at the Sandals Emerald Bay resort on Great Exuma Friday, his son told WVTM-TV.

Vincent’s wife Donnis was also injured, Austin Chiarella told the station.

The couple was celebrating their anniversary at the resort, he told ABC News, adding that he spoke to his mother on Saturday.

He told the outlet that she had woken up to find that “she couldn’t move” and that Vincent “was laying on the floor.”

“Her legs and arms was swollen and she couldn’t move and she screamed to get someone to come in the door,” Austin said.

Three Americans were found dead at the resort, and a fourth was airlifted to a hospital, Bahamas officials said.

The deceased guests had showed signs of suffering a convulsion but were not victims of trauma and foul play was not suspected, officials said.

Police said they were waiting for autopsy reports to determine the causes of death.

“We believe it’s an isolated situation that revolves around four people,” Bahamas health minister Dr. Michael Darville said, without speculating on the deaths occurred.

A letter from the Royal Bahamian Police Force about its investigation into the deaths.
American Chris Coucheron-Aamot, who is staying at the resort, alluded to an issue with the A/C on Facebook.

Chris Coucheron-Aamot, an American who is staying at the Sandals Emerald Bay in a building next to where the three vacationers died, wrote on Facebook that “it sounds like it may have been a fault with the a/c” in the unit, causing a toxic coolant leak.

“It was hard to sleep last night — every time the a/c came on, I woke up,” he wrote. He also shared a letter from the Royal Bahamas Police Force about its investigation at the resort.
