What To Expect (And What Not To Expect) From Ubisoft In 2023

PlayStation

And to finish, here’s the least likely Ubisoft game to see released in 2023, or perhaps, ever. Which is incredibly sad.

The original 2003 Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was revelatory. An exceptional game that reinvented how all third-person action games should be played, with its astonishing rewinding time mechanic, and fabulous 3D platforming. Sadly, no one else ever had the sense to copy it, and 20 years later we remain stuck in a mire of action games that endlessly kill us, rather than let us keep going. Oh, and there was that Jake Gyllenyhaal film to rub salt in the wound.

A remake was announced in 2020, with the ambitious release date of January, 2021. Spoiler alert: that didn’t happen, and it was maybe for the best, given just how awful it looked in the trailer above. It was then rather optimistically delayed until just March ‘21, before they seemingly admitted to themselves that it looked like a PS3 game, and kicked it down the road. Later that year Ubisoft said it’d appear in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, then took it from Indian developers Ubisoft Mumbai and gave it to Ubisoft Montreal, before announcing yet another delay last May, without even guessing at a fiscal year.

Come last November, things looked even worse when Ubisoft cancelled all pre-orders and returned everyone’s money. Perhaps a useful lesson on why you probably shouldn’t pre-order games that don’t exist yet. The publisher insists the game isn’t cancelled, but has yet to suggest a new release date, meaning this is unlikely perhaps even in 2024.

But hey, it’ll still probably come out before Beyond Good & Evil 2.

NASA Announces Successful Test of New Propulsion Technology

The rocket engine test occurred at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
Image: NASA

As NASA gears up for a return to the Moon with the Artemis missions, the administration has announced that its researchers have successfully developed and tested a new type of supersonic rocket engine called a rotating detonation rocket engine.

The rotating detonation rocket engine, or RDRE, generates thrust with detonation, in which a supersonic exothermic front accelerates to produce thrust, much the same way a shockwave travels through the atmosphere after something like TNT explodes. NASA says that this design uses less fuel and provides more thrust than current propulsion systems and that the RDRE could be used to power human landers, as well as crewed missions to the Moon, Mars, and deep space.

Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine Test at Marshall Space Flight Center

NASA’s test of the RDRE featured 3D-printed parts made with a copper-alloy called GRCop-42, which the agency developed. During the test, the rocket withstood the high temperatures and pressures generated by the detonation, producing over 4,000 pounds (1,814 kilograms) of thrust for almost a minute.

NASA argues that the new rocket design can move more mass into deep space with less fuel, potentially making space travel more sustainable. With the successful tests, NASA engineers are now working on a fully reusable 10,000-pound (4,536 kilogram) RDRE to compare its performance to traditional liquid rocket engines.

NASA’s development of the RDRE signals the space administration’s interest in developing more efficient rocket technology for space travel. Earlier this week, NASA announced a joint collaboration with DARPA to develop DRACO, short for Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operation. DRACO would utilize a nuclear thermal engine for interplanetary travel, reducing travel time with a more efficient propulsion technology.

‘Snowpiercer’ Season 4 Won’t Air On TNT In Content Write-Off, Shopped – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: And then there were none. Snowpiercer, the only remaining original scripted series on TNT, is done on the Warner Bros. Discovery network. The post-apocalyptic drama’s completed fourth and final season will not run on the basic cable network as previously announced. The move is believed to be part of the tax write-offs for content at WBD. I hear the studio behind it, Tomorrow Studios, is currently shopping the new season, along with potential prequel and sequel, with the goal to build a franchise.

“We can confirm that TNT will not air season four of Snowpiercer,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement to Deadline. “This was a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who brought Snowpiercer’s extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong. We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects.”

Deadline revealed exclusively in June that Season 4 of Snowpiercer was going to the series’ last, with the cast released to take on other jobs. The decision not to air it was made later in the year, sources said. It was part of the slew of content cuts for tax write-off purposes, including the axing of HBO Max tentpole Batgirl, J.J. Abrams’ HBO drama Demimonde, TBS series such as The Big D, Chad and Kill The Orange Bear as well as a raft of cancelations including Westworld. Chad and The Big D, whose new seasons, like Snowpiercer‘s, had been completed, have since found new homes at Roku and Peacock, respectively.

“We’re done with that chapter,” WBD CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said last week about the content write-off practice.

The TNets already had been scaling back on original scripted programming. The process was accelerated by the Discovery-WarnerMedia merger.

“We love Snowpiercer and believe season four completes a story with incredible talent that will entertain viewers while exploring issues of climate change and class warfare. We are so passionate about this series that we have acquired the rights to control the franchise,” Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein, CEO/Partner, and Becky Clements, President/Partner, said in a statement. “We hope to find the perfect partner shortly and finish a great ride with the final season.” –

Based on Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 movie, Snowpiercer premiered as the No. 1 new scripted drama on all of ad-supported cable in 2020.  Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Rowan Blanchard and Roberto Urbina star in the series, whose Season 4 features cast additions included Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov.

Snowpiercer Season 4 is executive produced by new showrunner Paul Zbyszewski, Christoph Schrewe, Adelstein and Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Matthew O’Connor, Ben Rosenblatt and Scott Derrickson, and the original film’s producers, Oscar winner Bong, Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi. The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios, along with CJ Entertainment. ITV Studios handles international distribution.

An Ancient Asteroid Impact May Have Caused a Megatsunami on Mars

The Viking 1 lander arrived on the Martian surface 46 years ago to investigate the planet. It dropped down into what was thought to be an ancient outflow channel. Now, a team of researchers believes they’ve found evidence of an ancient megatsunami that swept across the planet billions of years ago, less than 600 miles from where Viking landed.

In a new paper published today in Scientific Reports, a team identified a 68-mile-wide impact crater in Mars’ northern lowlands that they suspect is leftover from an asteroid strike in the planet’s ancient past.

“The simulation clearly shows that the megatsunami was enormous, with an initial height of approximately 250 meters, and highly turbulent,” said Alexis Rodriguez, a researcher at the Planetary Science Institute and lead author of the paper, in an email to Gizmodo. “Furthermore, our modeling shows some radically different behavior of the megatsunami to what we are accustomed to imagining.”

Rodriguez’s team studied maps of the Martian surface and found the large crater, now named Pohl. Based on Pohl’s position on previously dated rocks, the team believes the crater is about 3.4 billion years old—an extraordinarily long time ago, shortly after the first signs of life we know of appeared on Earth.

According to the research team’s models, the asteroid impact could have been so intense that material from the seafloor may have dislodged and been carried in the water’s debris flows. Based on the size of the crater, the team believes the impacting asteroid could have been 1.86 miles wide or 6 miles wide, depending on the amount of ground resistance the asteroid encountered.

The impact could have released between 500,000 megatons and 13 million megatons of TNT energy (for comparison, the Tsar Bomba nuclear test was about 57 megatons of TNT energy.)

“A clear next step is to propose a landing site to investigate these deposits in detail to understand the ocean’s evolution and potential habitability,” Rodriguez said. “First, we would need a detailed geologic mapping of the area to reconstruct the stratigraphy. Then, we need to connect the surface modification history to specific processes through numerical modeling and analog studies, including identifying possible mud volcanoes and glacier landforms.”

Both lines of investigation are noble pursuits, but it may be some time before a new Mars lander gets off the ground. NASA is always juggling missions, but its main planetary focus in the future is Venus. The DAVINCI+ and Veritas missions would see two spacecraft arrive at the second planet from the Sun at the turn of the decade.

There are no plans for a future Mars lander, besides the Mars Sample Return mission, which will retrieve the rock core samples currently being extracted by the Perseverance rover on the western edge of the planet’s Jezero Crater.

NASA is canceling and delaying missions as it deals with a budget crunch, so exactly when the agency could turn its attention to the Pohl crater is unclear. With the InSight lander on its last legs, we will soon lose one of our best interrogators of the Martian interior.

Charles Barkley slams ‘selective outrage’, hopes to do TNT, LIV Golf

After dining with LIV CEO Greg Norman Wednesday, Charles Barkley sounded like a man who would be willing to join the Saudi-backed Tour as a broadcaster.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Post, Barkley said he believes there is “selective outrage” in critics going after LIV Golf and feels it would be hypocritical not to consider being a part of the new tour if the money is right.

As further proof that he is serious about LIV, he will play in the Pro-Am portion of the LIV event next week at Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey.

After dining with Norman at the Italian restaurant Pricci in Atlanta, Barkley next expects the Aussie golfer to make him an offer to be a commentator. Barkley, one of the 50 greatest NBA players of all-time, has led TNT’s “Inside the NBA” as it has become an iconic sports studio show.

Barkley is under contract with Turner for three more years and $30 million, according to sources.

“In a perfect scenario, I would love to do both,” Barkley told The Post. “I don’t know how Turner’s sponsors are going to feel about it. I know there is going to be some blowback.”

Barkley said he and Norman talked about the Saudi-led group that is behind LIV Golf. The Saudi Arabian government has been accused of killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, as well as other human rights violations.

“I told [Norman,]” Barkley said. “’Listen, they are making up words, like ‘blood money’ and ‘sports washing.’ I said, ‘We have all taken ‘blood money’ and we all have ‘sports washed’ something so I don’t like those words, to be honest with you.’

“If you are in pro sports, you are taking some type of money from not a great cause.”

When asked if the NBA’s relationship with China was an example he was pointing to, Barkley responded, “Yeah, I don’t want to practice selective outrage.”

As a follow-up, Barkley was asked if it is different if you are basically receiving a check from the Saudi government.

“Now, that’s semantics,” Barkley said. “I’m a Nike guy, also, so I’m not going to do that thing where I pick and choose what I’m outraged about, where my money comes from. I just don’t think that is fair. I think that makes you a hypocrite.

“And let’s be fair, all these golf tours have played in Saudi Arabia and China. That was my point.”

Still, how everything plays out is not solely up to Barkley. He has endorsement deals with Capital One, Subway and Dick’s Sporting Goods. When the stories came out that Barkley was meeting with LIV Golf, his sponsors contacted him.

“They checked in with me,” Barkley said. “What I told Subway, Capital One and Dick’s Sporting Goods, I said, ‘Wait a minute. I haven’t signed anything. I haven’t met with the guy. Let’s let this thing play out before you all call me all upset.’

“Between the number you just mentioned [$10 million per year] and all my commercials, for me to risk all of that, it would have to be some serious money thrown my way.”

LIV has added big name golfers like Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka, while for its YouTube broadcasts it hired Arlo White and, as The Post reported earlier this week, David Feherty. Both were formerly at NBC Sports. The PGA Tour has ruled that LIV players can’t participate in their events.

LIV keeps steamrolling around with the Saudis’ seemingly endless money, and Norman told Barkley that a TV deal is expected.

“I think he thinks they are going to get a TV deal,” Barkley said. “I’m pretty sure they are going to get a TV deal also. Somebody is going to step forward at some point.

“I think it is kind of a smorgasbord of different things, to be honest with you. I don’t think it is one thing in particular, but I think the main thing is using my personality ”

Before taking the meeting with Norman, Barkley consulted with Michael Wilbon, Mark Cuban, Ahmad Rashad and Bryant and Greg Gumbel.

“These are guys that have mentored me throughout my career,” Barkley said. “I got all their opinions on it, and they saw no problem with me taking this meeting – and I’m glad they did.”

Brett Weitz Exits As General Manager Of TNT, TBS, & truTV – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Brett Weitz is leaving as General Manager Of TNT, TBS, & truTV. He will be transitioning out of his role in the next 30 days, with his last day marking his 14th anniversary at the TNets.

Weitz’s departure comes weeks after the Discovery-WarnerMedia merger was completed as his position has been eliminated following the restructure of the U.S. Networks Group Division under Discovery’s Kathleen Finch who added TNets to her portfolio.

“These past 14 years have been the most fulfilling of my career,” Weitz said. “I’ve had the great fortune to create and launch Emmy-winning fan-favorite entertainment, to be a part of powerful life-changing initiatives, and most importantly to have had the privilege to lead the most talented, dedicated, altruistic, and innovative team at the TNets. We made huge profits for shareholders and brilliant content for fans while having the most fun and being better partners with talent than any team I’ve ever been a part of. I will for sure continue to root for you all.”

Weitz, a well liked veteran TV executive, was named General Manager Of TNT, TBS, & truTV in October 2019. In his role, he managed all three nets, helping TNT and TBS to maintain their positions as as the #1 and #2 networks in prime among all cable entertainment networks and truTV among the youngest and most affluent. Some of Weitz’s recent accomplishments include the development and launch of scripted hits Snowpiercer, and Chad; the milestone 300th episode of American Dad, the successful revival of reality series Wipeout and the growth of two unscripted/sports franchises – AEW, which he expanded into three series across two networks, and Impractical Jokers, which launched multiple series and a major motion picture.

In his previous role as EVP Programming for TBS, Weitz was integral in revitalizing the network’s comedy brand with The Last O.G., which recently ended after four seasons, as well as late-night’s Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Weitz previously served as SVP Scripted Development for TBS and TNT, where he developed a range of hit series including The Last Ship, Rizzoli & Isles and Dallas.

Weitz also developed defined brand lanes for the three TNets – TBS’ always here for a good time, TNT’s always here for a thrill ride and truTV’s always here for a good laugh — which collectively delivered six of the top 10 comedies, two of the top dramas and eight of the top 10 performing movies each year. Additionally, Weitz championed the MORE initiative, a multifaceted campaign highlighting content that celebrates all cultures and showcases diverse stories and voices.

The writing has been on the wall as TNT and TBS started pulling away from original scripted programming shortly after the merger was completed, with the leadership of Warner Bros. Discovery making their first major cost-cutting moves at the TNets by dramatically changing their programming makeup.

New comedy series Kill the Orange-Faced Bear starring Damon Wayans Jr. was axed a week before it was to start production and new scripted development was suspended. Obliterated, a new series from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, which had been ordered by TBS, recently moved to Netflix. Additionally, TNT and TBS just dropped the SAG Awards after more than two decades.

Weitz had already steered the three linear networks through a process of transformation. There had been a scale-back in scripted pilot and series orders at the TNets over the past year and a half as the networks at the same time have beefed up their unscripted entertainment fare and sports offerings while continuing to rely on acquired content. Still, Weitz, a respected  development executive who worked at Columbia Tri-Star Television, 20th Century Fox Television, and fox21 before joining Turner, had remained committed to scripted programming.

WarnerMedia’s linear basic cable networks had been identified as prime cost-cutting targets for Warner Bros. Discovery, with more departures and layoffs expected.

MEMA: Fireball spotted over Vicksburg traveled at 55,000 mph, generated equivalent of 3 tons of TNT – The Vicksburg Post

Report courtesy of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.

More than 30 eyewitnesses in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi reported seeing a bright fireball at 8:03 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The sighting was soon followed by numerous reports of loud booms heard in Claiborne and surrounding counties. 22,000 miles out in space, the Geostationary Lightning Mappers onboard the GOES 16 and 17 satellites detected several bright flashes associated with the fragmentations of this bolide, which was first spotted 54 miles above the Mississippi River near the Mississippi town of Alcorn.

The object — thought to be a piece of an asteroid about a foot in diameter with a weight of 90 pounds — moved southwest at a speed of 55,000 miles per hour, breaking into pieces as it descended deeper into Earth’s atmosphere.

It disintegrated approximately 34 miles above the swampy area north of Minorca in Louisiana. The fragmentation of this fireball generated an energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT, which created shock waves that propagated to the ground, producing the booms and vibrations felt by individuals in the area.

At its peak, the fireball was over 10 times brighter than the Full Moon.

Anna Guizerix contributed to this report.

AEW Dynamite Results (3/9) – TNT Title On The Line, More

Welcome to our WrestlingINC.com live AEW Dynamite viewing party. Tonight’s special show will air live from the Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida. Our live coverage starts at 8pm ET. Please share coverage of tonight’s Viewing Party on social media and chime in with your thoughts in the comments section below.

– We are kicking things off tonight with the Demo God, Chris Jericho, who heads to the ring with usual great reception. He says that last Sunday was one of the best nights of his career, even though he lost. He thinks it is one of the best matches of his career, and arguably the best of his AEW run. He thanks Eddie Kingston, claiming he brought out a side of him he thought was gone.

Jericho says he didn’t live up to his word after the match, and his word is everything. Chris says he was frustrated as the fans chant, ‘shake his hand.’ Chris says Eddie deserves his respect, and he has got it. So he calls out Kingston so he can shake his hand. He makes his way down, and tells people they’re going to get real deep.

Kingston says the Friday night before the biggest match of his career, he didn’t want to show up. He wanted to go out drinking as Jericho got in his head. A fan tries to, ‘what,’ chant him, but he tells them to show some respect as Steve Austin isn’t here. Eddie says four people told him that they didn’t commit suicide because of him, and that’s why he showed up.

After the match, he went to his hotel room and cried, because he wanted to make those people from the fan fest proud. Eddie gets emotional and says he hopes he did that. Kingston tells Jericho the handshake wasn’t for him, the handshake was for Jericho. It sounds like a Chris Jericho problem.

Eddie says he dragged out the man who he looked up to in Japan, that was him showing respect. He says Jericho proved he’s still the man, and still number one. But Kingston questions if that’s enough to fill the hole where he doesn’t want to show respect to young guys. Jericho says everything Eddie just said was right.

Jericho tells Eddie he has his undying respect. He thanks him for giving him respect, and he offers to shake his hand. The two men then do that, and then 2point0 and Daniel Garcia make their way out and start jumping the two guys. However, Santana and Ortiz then hit the ring and clear house. They keep hold of Garcia, but Jericho then cracks Ortiz and Santana with the bat!

Jericho is working alongside 2point0 and Garcia. Jake Hager then comes down and screams at Jericho. He questions what he is doing, but then the big man blasts his Santana and Ortiz as well, sticking with Chris. Jericho smashes Kingston over the head with the baseball bat, and then Hager powerbomb him from the ring apron through a table on the floor.

Jericho then gets on the microphone and he tells us that this is the Jericho Appreciation Society…and that’s entertainment.

– CM Punk is then shown being interviewed after the dog collar match, as footage from the encounter is displayed. He says he’ll be digging dried blood for weeks. But that CM Punk is dead…long live CM Punk.

AEW World Championship Match

Hangman Page (c) vs. Dante Martin

The two men shake hands to start things, and then Hangman Page uses his strength to drop his challenger with a few shoulder tackles. But Dante Martin picks up the pace and rocks the champion with a dropkick and then a few chops. Hangman responds by springboarding and hitting a lariat, sending Martin outside.

He then launches himself over the top rope to take Dante down once more. The champion then unloads some chops of his own inside the ring, and while Martin hits a few himself, Page then explodes with a lariat in the corner, which he follows up with a huge clothesline, dropping Dante to the mat.

Dante then tries to leap over the champion, but he catches him and hits the Death Valley Driver, but Martin kicks out. The young wrestler continues to fight back though, sending Hangman out of the ring, as he follows up with a moonsault from the top turnbuckle to the outside. Martin then looks for a dropkick from the top turnbuckle, but Page catches him in mid-air to turn it into a powerbomb, but the challenger kicks out again.

Martin then sends the champion out of the ring once again. He looks to springboard to the outside, but Page pushes him back into the ring. Immediately, Hangman launches himself in with the Buckshot Lariat to defend the title.

Winner (and still champion): Hangman Page

– After the match, Tony Schiavone hits the ring to interview the champion. However, Page tells Dante to get his ass back in the ring. He tells him that Martin was put in a tough spot last year when his brother was injured. He pushed himself all the way to the World Title, and Page says while he will be going for the tag titles, if he makes it back here, he’d love to do it again.

Adam Cole then appears, telling him to shut his mouth. At Revolution, he proved Page wasn’t untouchable. Cole congratulates Page for a fluke victory, he says anybody can get lucky once, and the next time that won’t happen. Cole challenges Page to a six-man match next week, and he has two specific young men in mind, who know Page very well.

Cole says he will make Hangman’s life living hell, and he will not stop until he gets what he wants, and what he deserves. He won’t stop until he hears, ‘and new AEW World Champion.’

Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley w/William Regal vs. The Workhorseman

Immediately Jon Moxley takes the fight to JD Drake, attacking him in the corner and launching him across the mat. Bryan Danielson then tags in and unloads a series of strikes, dropping down the bigger man. However, he is able to power Bryan into his corner and Anthony Henry tags in and unloads several kicks of his own.

However, it doesn’t last long until Bryan turns things around with kicks of his own, and Moxley then stomps a mudhole into him in the corner. Bryan comes back in with chops and kicks, locking in the surfboard submission, as Jon tags in and then bites his face before chopping him down.

Jon throws him up in the air, turning Henry inside out, but that only gets a one count. Henry rights back in the corner and comes in with a missile dropkick. Drake tags in and starts throwing slaps to Moxley, but he gets dropped with a lariat. Moxley then brings in Bryan, launching himself out with a tope suicida. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Bryan hits the running knees and then the Label Lock for the win.

Winners: Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley

– After the match, William Regal tells Tony Schiavone he didn’t think they’d be doing this again, 29 years after they first work together. Regal says he has made his own life hard, both in the ring and in his life. He knows he’s not long for this life due to too many empty bottles, and broken hearts.

Regal then gets emotional, and he thanks Tony for helping him in the past. William then snaps out of it and says he is no longer required from his old job, and he checked out of his old job. But then someone told him Bryan Danielson mentioned him on AEW Dynamite. It got him interested, he went to watch and he found out that he’d be fighting Jon Moxley.

Regal says the reason people know him now, is because of Bryan, as his name was always mentioned alongside of him. Regal says if someone wants to work hard, he will make them a better wrestler. The first thing he will do, is sit them down and tell them not what to do. Regal says Bryan is what he should have been, as he’s a perfect wrestler.

Regal says there was a time when they’d train with a group of wrestlers, but he and Bryan would stay and keep working. Regal sent him places and Bryan became the wrestler he should have been, because he doesn’t have the problems Regal did. William said he had seen enough on Sunday, as what better could this younger generation have than these two men.

Regal says that is why the team is together. He warns anyone who steps in the ring with them, they will not like the outcome. You’ll step up, or get stepped on.

– Backstage Hangman Page apologizes to The Dark Order for pushing them on Sunday. They say it’s fine. They ask who will be his partner next week, but Hangman says he has already agreed to team with Jurrasic Express.

Wheeler Yuta vs. PAC

PAC immediately takes control of Wheeler Yuta’s arm, but he smartly gets out of it and hits a dropkick. PAC decides to dump his opponent out of the ring and he stares down the rest of the guys outside the ring as Penta then turns up. The Englishman then launches Yuta head-first into the barricade before hitting a brainbuster on the outside.

Back inside the squared circle, Yuta launches PAC across the ring and then hits a boot in the corner.  He dives from the top turnbuckle, and almost gets the win with a crossbody. PAC responds with a German suplex, but Yuta is then the one kicking out of a pinfall attempt. He follows that up with an Avalance Brainbuster and then locks in the Brutalizer to gain the victory.

Winner: PAC

– The Cutler Cam is then shown as Adam Cole says he knows Sunday wasn’t the best night for any of them. However, Matt Jackson questions reDRagon as they begin arguing. Cole tells them to stop, and he says next week they’ll change things up. Cole says he has the perfect partners, who are two of his very best friends.

Matt tells him to count them out, but Cole says he wasn’t picking them anyway. He was picking Bobby and Kyle, as they walk away.

– FTR are then interviewed where Dax Harwood says wrestling was his first love. He tries to call out reDRagon. But Tully Blanchard cuts them off, and says he was brought by them to win titles, but they argue about what it’s all about. Cash Wheeler says this is about family, and Blanchard is not that, and they fire him.

– The AHFO are all in the ring, with Matt Hardy saying he wanted to make things right, but Andrade wants to fire him. Andrade asks where Matt’s suit is. Matt says when he puts on the suit, he transforms into an a—–e, and Andrade knows what that is all about, and Jose certainly does.

He wants to make this right. Andrade says he wants to take a vote, but Matt says Private Party will never vote him out. They start doing the vore…but Private Party end up turning against him, giving a thumbs down behind his back. Andrade says you always need to watch your back, and Matt turns around to see they have turned on him.

The entire group then beats the hell out of Matt, with all of the members getting their shots in. Andrade then hits a big running boot. However, Darby Allin and Sting then make their way out. They hit the ring and start brawling with everyone inside the ring as well.

But JEFF HARDY IS HERE! Jeff comes out to a huge reaction and he helps them clean house, with the segment ending with a Swanton Bomb. Matt and Jeff share a big hug together, as the Hardy Boyz are back together!

– Swerve Strickland is then shown backstage as Tony Nese interrupts. He says since they have a history of wrestling on Friday nights, he thinks they should do that again. Strickland agrees, saying he will beat that ass.

– Tony Schiavone is back again, this time welcoming Wardlow to the ring. Wardlow says you always come to a moment whether you want to help someone else accomplish their dreams, or take the chance to fulfill your own. Wardlow says before Max, he did a lot for someone and got nothing in return.

Little did he know he was walking out of one cage into another with Max. He knew Max wasn’t a good person, and he asks for forgiveness for associating with such trash. But he grew up very poor, and he had to watch his mother struggle. Max changed his life, and for that he thanks him. But it does not give you the right to disrespect someone like he did.

Wardlow says he is still under contract with Max, but he no longer gives a damn. He is no longer watching his back, he is not his bodyguard, and he is not a member of The Pinnacle. He is finally free. Wardlow tells Max to be smart, and if he lets him go from his contract, he will leave him alone. Wardlow only cares about becoming TNT Champion, and obtaining a new contract. He will not stop at the TNT Title, so he’s letting everyone know, AEW is Wardlow’s world.

– QT Marshall is shown backstage with Keith Lee. He thinks they have a common enemy with Team Taz. QT says he has stroke in AEW, so he wants to let him know, they have his back. Keith says he happens to have a large back, and he’s good. Marshall says Lee will pay for it.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match

Jurassic Express w/Christian Cage vs. The Acclaimed

Jungle Boy starts things out, but The Acclaimed work together initially, only for him to take both men out. Luchasaurus comes in and just chops Max Caster down. He then unloads a massive uppercut to him as Jungle Boy returns by leaping over his partner and down onto his opponent.

The Acclaimed regain control and work well with some double teams as Caster then drops Jungle Boy with a shoulder tackle. Anthony Bowens charges in with a splash in the corner and then attacks Luchasuarus to stop a possible tag. He keeps Jungle Boy isolated, but the champions respond with a great forearm strike.

Caster tries to stop a tag but it doesn’t work and Luchasaurus takes out both men, charging back and forth between the turnbuckles, following it with a double clothesline. They then spill to the outside as The Acclaimed try to use the boom box, but the big men avoids it and then Jungle Boy launches himself out of the ring to take them out.

Back inside the ring, Luchasaurus continues the attack, hitting a standing moonsault but Bowens breaks up the pinfall. Jungle Boy then connects with several forearms as he tags in, but Bowens responds with a superkick into the Mic Drop. But Luchasaurus rescues things just in time.

Luchasaurus gets taken down outside the ring though, with Caster diving out with a dropkick. Back in the ring they hit a Combination Bomb, but Jungle Boy somehow kicks out. The challengers try to use the chain, but Christian puts a stop to that. Jungle Boy then runs Bowens into a headbutt from his partner. He gets propped up on the shoulders of the big man and Jungle Boy launches himself off the top rope to turn him inside out in mid-air.

#1 Contender’s Match

Leyla Hirsch vs. Thunder Rosa

The two women start things out technically, but Thunder Rosa picks up the pace with some arm drags and then a dropkick. The challenger is able to turn things around though, with her power proving to be too much. She slams down Thunder to the mat, but she is able to kick out.

Leyla then uses the turnbuckles to her advantage, hanging up Rosa with an arm submission. She then follows up with a big dropkick, adding further pressure to Rosa. She turns things around thought, suckering in Leyla to the second rope, as Rosa follows up with a dropkick to the back, with Leyla bouncing off the ropes.

Thunder charges into the corner with a clothesline, but as she leaps around the turnbuckle, Leyla catches her and hits a German suplex. Rosa kicks out, but Leyla then just lays in some punches. Hirsch takes long heading to the top rope, ut Rosa meets her there and gets the best of the situation.

Rosa then hits a fireman’s carry and a running clothesline, but Leyla kicks out again.  She then goes to use the turnbuckle rod again when the referee isn’t looking, but Red Velvet appears and stops her. However, back in the ring, Leyla secures an arm submission, as Rose gets to the ropes. Leyla misses a running knee strike and then hits the Thunder Driver to win.

Winner: Thunder Rosa

– Tony Schiavone is then on the microphone. He says next week, Thunder gets a title shot, and that will be…inside a steel cage match.

– Britt Baker then appears backstage. She says it’s more conspiracy stuff going on. Thunder should be at the back of the line, but Britt is not afraid of it. She’s afraid of what happens if carny riffraff like Rosa gets the title.

TNT Championship Match

Sammy Guevara (c) vs. Scorpio Sky

The two men waster no time going back and forth with an attack here, as Sammy Guevara’s pace takes down Scorpio Sky at the legs. The fight spills to the outside, and Sky gets a few shots in, but the champion then drives him into the barricade repeatedly. The Spanish God then breaks out a table, as Sky gets launches into the stairs.

Sammy then sets up Scorpio on the table outside the ring, and as he launches himself to the outside, Sky moves and the champion lands hard. Tay Conti then comes down to check on him as the doctor looks at him as well. The champion then gets carried to the back with the doctor and Tay, but he argues with them on the apron and he makes his way back in.

Sammy spits at Sky and then they start brawling as Sky then dumps him outside the ring again. Tay then ends up arguing with Paige VanZant at ringside, while back in the ring, Sky hits a backbreaker. He continues focusing on the back, but Guevara continues to kick out. Sammy tries to throw a few punches, and then he almost steals it with a roll-up.

Guevara connects with a back heel kick, and he then connects with the Springboard Cutter, but Sky kicks out! Guevara then hits the GTH, but Sky rolls under the ropes. He goes for the Shooting Star Press, but Sky gets the knees up. Dan Lambert then gets on the apron as Ethan Page tries to interfere, but Conti stops him.

However, Paige Van Zant then appears and attacks her. She launches Conti into the stairs, which distracts Guevara. Sky then hits the TKO to become the new champion!

AEW Dynamite Results -Interim TNT Title Match, CM Punk In Action

Welcome to our WrestlingINC.com live AEW Dynamite viewing party. Tonight’s special show will air live from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our live coverage starts at 8pm ET. Please share coverage of tonight’s Viewing Party on social media and chime in with your thoughts in the comments section below.

– We are kicking off tonight’s show with Adam Cole, bay bay. He is flanked by Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish. He says 2021 was a great year for the three of them, but 2022 will be better. Cole reminds everyone that he hasn’t been pinned or made to submit in AEW. He also says the boys are back together and they are the baddest team on God’s green.

Cole says it is a new era here in AEW. However, he is interrupted by The Young Bucks. Matt says he kicked COVID’s ass in two days and says he would come and join them and he thanks them for the invite. Kyle O’Reilly says nobody invited them before either, and they didn’t need help beating the ‘Super Friends.’

Matt tells them that this is their company, and they are the longest-reigning Tag Team Champions in history. Kyle says that is funny as they have the same resolution. Bobby Fish claims there isn’t a single team that will stop them from getting the titles and that includes The Bucks.

Adam Cole says this is what we need, friendly competition. He says that is what makes them the greatest faction in AEW history. Best Friends then make their way down to the ring. Orange Cassidy doesn’t have anything to say, instead, he jumps Cole and all the members begin brawling. However, a low blow from Cole takes advantage for his team.

Cole looks for the Superkick, but Kris Statlander gets in the way…that is until Britt Baker appears and she takes out Statlander with a Curb Stomp, while she sets up Cassidy for the Boom by Adam Cole. He poses for the Young Bucks kick spot, but Baker stops them and she kisses her boyfriend instead.

Wardlow w/MJF vs. CM Punk

CM Punk immediately slides out of the ring and looks to face off with MJF, but Wardlow also slides out and stands in the middle. Inside of the ring, Wardlow’s power and strength is too much early on as he throws Punk into the corner before dropping him with a shoulder tackle. However, Punk responds with a few strikes in the corner, only for a clubbing blow from Wardlow to drop him.

The bigger man continues his dominance, working the shoulder. However, he takes too long and Punk attacks the knee, but Wardlow’s power is too much again as he launches Punk into the corner as he spills to the floor. Punk continues to fight back with an attempted tornado DDT, but Wardlow shrugs him off mid-move.

Wardlow looks for the powerbomb, but Punk escapes and catches him with a kick to the head. He follows up with several more shots and he charges with several clotheslines but Punk can’t take the bigger man down. He eventually hits the springboard clothesline and that does the trick!

Punk then goes for his classic knee to the head in the corner. He connects but MJF then gets his head, and with Punk distracted, Wardlow hits a powerbomb. He then follows that up with a second one and a third, and a fourth, and a fifth! Wardlow looks for the pin, but MJF gets on the apron and demands he does more damage.

Wardlow gets him up again and nails a sixth powerbomb. However, MJF demands more. He goes along with the order and nails a seventh. He rolls out of the ring and Wardlow goes around, but MJF clears the timekeeper’s table and demands he puts Punk through it. Wardlow is visibly not happy about it, but he powerbombs Punk through the table.

Despite the beatdown, Punk somehow manages to get in the ring before the 10 count. MJF then demands another powerbomb happens. Wardlow slowly goes for another, but Punk gets the inside cradle and he defeats Wardlow!

Winner: CM Punk

– After the match, MJF goes crazy with Wardlow, but he grabs his hand and seems to be losing his cool until Shwan Spears hits the ring. He comes between them and calms things down as they all head to the back.

Powerhouse Hobbs w/Ricky Starks vs. Dante Martin

Dante Martin sprints to the ring and the two men start brawling outside of the ring. Hobbs sends his opponent into the ring but Martin connects with several kicks before he launches himself at Hobbs, sending them both out of the ring. However, as Dante tries to come off the ring apron, Hobbs catches him and nails a spine buster on the outside.

Hobbs then plans Martin to the mat several times, and while the smaller man tries to fight back, he is instantly set back to the mat with a clothesline. Hobbs then locks in a torture rack submission, but Martin breaks out only to be leveled with a clothesline.

Hobbs then launches his opponent into the turnbuckle and out of the ring as Ricky Starks begins attacking while the official isn’t looking. Back inside of the ring, Hobbs just continues attacking and mocking his opponent. However, he fights back with an elbow strike and a high boot.

Martin then ens up back in the torture rack, but once again Martin gets out of it and several strikes help him. This is followed up by a missile dropkick. With Hobbs on the outside, Dante hits the tornado. When Hobbs tries to get in the ring, Martin attacks him. However, Hobbs responds by simply charging into him.

Starks then tries to cheat again, but Jay Lethal appears and pulls him away. Martin then connects with the Nose Dive and secures the win.

Winner Dante Martin

– Chris Jericho is shown backstage and says it is an honor that The Inner Circle got named faction of the year. He says since day one they promised to dominate the country and company. He says Sammy Guevara will win tonight. Eddie Kingston then appears and he says he doesn’t care about that. He’s bothered about his injured knee.

Eddie tells Santana and Ortiz the reason they’ve not been champions is Jericho. He tells them that they’re a family. The rest of the group walk away and leave them two together. Jericho says he will be ringside tonight and if 2point0 get involved he will fight them. He says if Eddie gets involved, he might fight him too.

– MJF then storms out and congratulates CM Punk, but says he is in a world of pain and got powerbombed to oblivion. He says Punk got a fluke victory over an oaf tonight. MJF says next week he will personally make sure Punk gets his first L. He says next week it is the match everyone wants…CM Punk vs. Shawn Spears.

– Adam Cole’s group are backstage as he says it has gotten silly with Best Friends. He tells Kris if she thought they were safe, they should think again. Britt Baker appears and challenges her and Orange to a mixed-tag next week.

– Adam Page then appears and says over the past two months he’s spent 90 minutes into the ring against one of the best in the world. He’s poured sweat and bled, all for the title. However, Page says 90 minutes isn’t enough. He needs a new challenger. This leads to Dan Lambert appearing and Page says, ‘oh god, shoot me.’

He didn’t come here to hear from a walking Facebook profile like Lambert. However, he says the matches Page and Danielson are some of the best he’s ever seen. He says he respects him for not taking the Cody Rhodes path with backstage politics. He says Page has earned everything other than the persona he’s using as his gimmick.

Lambert says the guy in the Village People can say he’s a cowboy but it doesn’t make it true. He tells him to stop disrespecting the legacies of people like Blackjack Mulligan. He says people doing that come across as full of cowboy sh*t. Page says living with cattle isn’t cowboy sh*t? Turning down a six-figure contract to start a new company isn’t cowboy sh*t?

However, as Lambert tries to leave, Lance Archer returns! He looks like he’s going to attack Lambert, but he then takes out the champion. Lambert scurries away as Archer uses a chair to attack him, with Archer hitting the Blackout on the chair, leaving the champion laying.

– Arn Anderson is then shown with his son and Lee Moriarty, he tells them it is horseman country. But then Tully Blanchard arrives and says if he wants to feel it again, he needs to ditch the deadwood. FTR suggests a ta team match, and Anderson’s men agree.

Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb

As Hikaru Shida is making her entrance, Serena Deeb chases her and takes out her knee. She then continues that by using the steel stairs, getting the advantage before the bell rings. Once Shida gets in, the attack on the knee continues, with Serena using the ropes to her advantage in order to be even more creative and dangerous. Deeb then rips away Shida’s knee pad and slams it into the mat. Deeb locks in a submission focusing on the knee, and the referee ends the match.

Winner: Serena Deeb

After the match, Shida is mad at the official for finishing the match as the doctor comes in to check on her. However, Deeb gets the kendo stick and beats down on Shida’s injured area until officials pull her back.

– Jurrasic Express are shown backstage and they say that they’re ready to defend the titles against any team in the top five. The Dark Order then appear and they challenge them to a match, which becomes official for Rampage.

– Matt Hardy is in the ring and says he is sorry that Rey Fenix got injured. But tonight in his hometown and in front of his beautiful family, he is going to delete Penta to send him to the hospital to be with his brother.

Matt Hardy vs. Penta El Zero Miedo

The two men start out doing their catchphrases towards each other with the fans being behind both. Penta takes off his glove and stops it, and then takes down Penta with a clothesline. However, he ends up walking straight into a superkick after which he follows up with a series of chops to the chest. Matt responds well though and lays in several of his own.

Penta ends up sending Matt to the outside with a thrust kick, but as he tries to launch out of the ring, Matt stops him with a right hand. He launches Penta into the barricade and takes control. Matt then drops an elbow from the second rope, but that doesn’t get the job done as Penta kicks out.

Hardy knocks him down once again with an elbow strike, this time following up with a leg drop before the Delete attacks into the turnbuckles. Matt drops his opponent with a DDT, but once again the former Tag Team Champion kicks out. Hardy then sets Penta onto the top rope, but he slips underneath him and kicks out the ankle of Matt and then gets stomped from the top, but Hardy kicks out.

The two men then exchange punches on the ring apron, but Matt Hardy comes out on top with a Side Effect. This time it is Penta kicking out! On the top rope, Matt goes for the moonsault press but Penta moves and follows up with the Fear Factor.

Winner: Penta El Zero Miedo

After the match, Pentagon and Alex Abrahantes send Malakai Black. He says he will teach Black some respect. But then the lights go out and Black appears. He takes down Alex and then hits Penta with some superkicks. He tries to rip his mask off, but the Varsity Blondes then appear and help out. Julia Hart tells them to stop. The lights go out again and Brody King is here!

He lays all three men to waste with Black and King then working together. They stand together and then leave.

– Kris Statlander then talks with Tony Schiavone backstage about the mixed tag team match. But Layla Hirsch questions if that is selfish of her to focus on that before their Rampage match. Red Velvet tells them to get it together.

The Acclaimed vs. Bear Country

Straight away Bear Country take both men down with their power advantage. They lift up The Acclaimed and simply drop them onto each other as they take control. The two big men continue working together with fast tags and double teams, but they then get pushed into each other by Anthony Bowens. He rocks Boulder with a superkick as Max Caster launches himself in from the top rope.

The Acclaimed then make several tags as they continue to work Bronson over in the corner. Bowens looks to to lift up Bear Bronson but he can’t do it, and he ends up sitting on him as both men make a tag. Bear Boulder takes down both of his opponents. He launches the two of them around and then hits a double flatliner. They look for the Bear Bomb, but The Acclaimed avoid it.

Bowens hits an elbow strike to Boulder, but he is then launched to the floor himself. However, while he’s on the outside he pulls him down onto the top rope while the referee isn’t looking. This allows Caster to follow with the Mic Drop.

Winners: The Acclaimed

As they make their way up the ramp…Sting arrives! But as they back away, Darby Allin appears on the other side and he launches through the ropes with a skateboard to take out Caster. Meanwhile, Sting uses his bat to hit Bowens. Inside the ring Sting connects with the Scorpion Deathdrop as the duo sends a message.

– PAC is then seen in a video package. He says his perspective is different now, and his vision has never been so clear as he holds a card that says justice on it.

– Matt Hardy says he is frustrated. He talks about possibly having to focus on himself as something has to change. Andrade then appears and tells him he needs to focus as they hand him a water. He wants to negotiate a deal with Matt and they head to his office. But Matt tells Private Party to stay.

Sammy Guevara (c) vs. Daniel Garcia (Interim TNT Championship match)

Both men waste no time in starting things off here as they brawl inside the ring. Garcia hits a huge kick to the back, but Sammy does the same and then they exchange big slaps before Sammy sends his opponent to the outside as he follows up with a huge dive.

Back inside the ring, Garcia regains control with a backbreaker, which sends Sammy to the outside. He then drives the champion into the ring apron, but that isn’t enough to get the win. He then locks in the Boston Crab, but Sammy makes it to the ropes. He then moves into the bow and arrow submission, but Sammy counters with a lateral press.

While Garcia kicks out, he immediately follows it with a clothesline. He continues to attack the back, but Sammy then nails a clothesline of his own before charging into him in the corner. Sammy looks to leap into him but Daniel goes outside of the ring. That’s not enough though, with Sammy bouncing on the other top rope before flipping out of the ring to connect with Garcia.

Sammy then looks for another top rope move, but Garcia pulls his legs from the turnbuckle and the back of Guevara’s neck bounces off it. Garcia drops him down to the mat again, but the interim champion kicks out. Sammy hits a pump kick, but Garcia then sets in the Scorpion Deathlock as this continues to go back and forth.

Guevara avoids the charge in the corner and then hits the Cross Rhodes, but Garcia kicks out! Sammy looks to bounce into the cutter, but Garcia sees it coming and he locks in a sleeper. He then transitions and hits a piledriver, but Sammy kicks out!

However, on the outside, 2pointo arrive and they jump Jericho and Kingston. Despite that, Sammy takes control, but he has to deal with distractions from 2pointo on the outside. He manages to knock down both men and then hit the GTH to retain.

Winner: Sammy Guevara
