It will launch in 2024 worldwide.

“We wanted to create a new genre that is completely different from the recently popular looter Shooter [3,288 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/shooter”>shooter or Battle Royale [19 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/battle-royale”>battle royale,” said project lead Seeder Jaehyun Bae in the text interview. “We want to create a new market that is exclusive to NC with a new IP that incorporates the keywords ‘shooter,’ ‘MMO,’ and ‘open world.’ We are developing a project that combines different play styles and elements from NC’s previous games, and we are very excited to share a sneak peek with our community.”

According to Bae, Project LLL will offer a “Vast open world in which more than 30km of land area is seamlessly connected to a single environment.” It is being built on the latest Unreal Engine.

LLL is a Science-Fiction [38 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/science-fiction”>sci-fi game, but it can also be seen as a game that falls under a sub-genre of alternative history,” Bae explained. “It takes place in a world that started with the idea that the history we know progressed differently due to a particular event in the past. In LLL, a devastated Seoul, the 10th century Byzantine Empire, and the 23rd century are all blended together in the same lore.”

Bae cited the novels Founation, Dune, and the works of Philip K. Dick as inspiration for lore of the game, and Blade Runner [1 article]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/runner”>Runner, Total Recall, and The Man in the High Castle as inspiratino for its themes of technology, human justice, and alternate history.

As for characters, unlike other NCSOFT games, Project LLL will have predefined characters, each with a unique name, background story, and driving forces.

Resident Evil Village Third-Person Mode Demo Available Today

Capcom has announced that a demo for Resident Evil Village’s upcoming third-person mode will be available tonight, October 20, and will include 60 minutes of gameplay to try out in the new mode or in first-person for comparison.

Announced during the latest Resident Evil Showcase, this demo will be released at 4pm PT/7pm ET. If you live in the BST or AEST timezone, that translates to October 21 at 12am BST/9am AEST.

Included will be a small glimpse of what owners of the Resident Evil Village’s Gold Edition or Winters’ Expansion DLC can look forward to when both are released on October 28, 2022. And yes, the entire game will be playable in third-person. For those worried about a simple rework, Capcom had previously stated that creating this new perspective for Resident Evil: Village took “about as much effort as creating a new game.”

Those who choose to purchase the Gold Edition or Winters’ Expansion will get access to the third-person mode alongside The Mercenaries: Additional Orders and the story expansion Shadows of Rose.

The Mercenaries: Additional Orders will allow players to become Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and even Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, and each will have their own unique abilities.

Shadows of Rose takes place 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village and follows Ethan Winters’ daughter Rosemary, who finds herself “struggling with terrifying powers.” To cure herself of this curse that has befallen her, she will have to enter the “consciousness of the Megamycete” and face her past, as well as new horrible nightmares.

Furthermore, it was revealed that this DLC will “conclude the Winters family saga.”

Republican Utah Senator Mike Lee Praises Mike Lee in Weird Third-Person Article by Mike Lee

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) was roundly roasted on social media for a bizarre op-ed Sunday in which he endorsed himself in the third person. The article in The Salt Lake Tribune ran under the headline “Mike Lee has earned a reputation as principled conservative” with the byline “Mike Lee.” “Mike Lee serves as a United States senator representing the state of Utah,” the piece begins. “Since taking office, Senator Lee has earned a reputation as a principled conservative.” It appears that the newspaper offered the opportunity to submit an op-ed to both Lee and his independent challenger Evan McMullin. Journalist James Surowiecki said McMullin contributed a piece written in the first person “like a normal person,” while Lee chose instead to submit his bio.

Bandai Namco announces sci-fi third-person shooter SYNDUALITY for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Game Studio [6 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/companies/game-studio”>Game Studio has announced SYNDUALITY [1 article]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/games/synduality”>SYNDUALITY, a new science-fiction third-person Shooter [3,242 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/shooter”>shooter coming to PS5 [3,413 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/platforms/playstation/ps5″>PlayStation 5, Xbox Series [2,684 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/platforms/xbox/xbox-series”>Xbox Series, and PC [15,939 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/platforms/pc”>PC via Steam in 2023.

Here is an overview of the game, via Bandai Namco:

Developed by Game Studio, SYNDUALITY is a science-fiction third-person shooter set in a dystopian futuristic world where humans and AI must co-exist and cooperate to survive.

SYNDUALITY takes place in 2222, years after a mysterious poisonous rain called “The Tears of the New Moon” wiped out most of humanity and birthed deformed creatures that now hunt the population. Amidst the calamity, humans are forced to build an underground haven named Amasia, where they discover and begin to collaborate with forms of artificial intelligence called Magus.

In the game, players will step in the shoes of the Drifters, people who make a living collecting AO crystals, a rare resource available on Earth. In this quest they must face xenomorphic creatures known as Enders, and they will be able to count on Magus, their AI partners, to guide them through their journey, help them in fights, and provide direction, hints, and warning. All the while, they will be developing and strengthening the bond between player and AI. Gameplay and combat in SYNDUALITY centers around Cradle Coffins, armed vehicles in which players will be roaming on the surface and can fully personalize, from appearance to weapon loadouts, to fit their own playstyle. SYNDUALITY will also have multiplayer, with other Drifters joining players to help them in their missions or turn against them, hindering their progress or fighting to loot their precious resources.

SYNDUALITY is a project we can’t wait for players to put their hands on,” said Bandai Namco producer Yosuke Futami in a press release. “We have been working with famous designers such as Neco for character design and Ippei Gyoubu for mechanical design, as well as the team at Game Studio, to develop a fun shooter with strong core gameplay and a unique focus on the relationship between AI and human, where the bond that develops between players and their Magus impacts game play and story.”

Here are some additional details, via producer Yosuke Futami on PlayStation Blog:

Hello! My name is Yosuke Futami, the producer of SYNDUALITY. On behalf of the team, we are excited to finally reveal our brand-new science-fiction Third-Person Shooter [1,009 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/shooter/tps”>third-person shooter game from Bandai Namco Entertainment [6,198 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/companies/bandai-namco-entertainment”>Bandai Namco Entertainment.

It all started a couple of years back when our team grouped together and passionately discuss how can we break ourselves into—or even break the whole barrier, of the science-fiction genre. With the emergence of technology these days, and how artificial intelligence slowly becoming more prominent in our daily lives, we were particularly interested in how humans and AI would interact with each other in the future. Will they coexist? Do they have the same belief on feelings, or sense of emotion? Can they intertwine? Those were the questions that eventually became an exodus of this project, and hopefully you would join us to figure out together the Adventure [481 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/adventure”>adventures that lies ahead of them.

SYNDUALITY is set in a dystopian future where poisonous rain and deformed creatures wreak havoc on the world, where you and you AI partner must find a way to work together and reclaim lost ground for humanity. Adding to the excitement, we have partnered with prominent designers Neco (for character design) and Gyobu (for mech design) to bring their unique science-fiction style to the game. Please check out the reveal trailer below for a first look at the game.

The World of Amasia

The year is 2222. It has been years since Tears of the New Moon, a mysterious rain, poured and wiped out almost the entire human race. The poisonous rain gave birth to deformed creatures devouring for humans, and humanity fled from the danger. As means for Survival [88 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/survival”>survival, the humans then build an underground haven; Amasia. In this new built dystopian city, on a pursuit of maintaining their existence, they run into an Artificial Intelligence named Magus. Not knowing how things will work between them, the story of how Humans and AI coinciding and trying to find their truths begin.

Search for Scarce Resources in Your Cradle Coffin

In the world of SYNDUALITY, you will take on a role as Drifters—who makes a living by collecting AO Crystals; a rare resource that can only be obtained in dangerous terrestrial environment. You will take on each mission in your Cradle Coffin—an armed vehicle that will get you mobile during the adventure. Players can personalize their Cradle Coffin—not only its appearance, but the weapons equipped as well to make your Cradle Coffin suit your own play style.

Meet Your AI Partner, Magus

You are not alone on this journey. An AI partner called Magus will be there in battle flying alongside your mech to give directions, hints, and warnings so you can safely complete your missions. Discover unique interactions and dialogues with Magus depending on different situations.

Battle Against Enemies and Other Players (PvPvE)

On the vast battlefield, you will encounter xenomorphic creatures known as Enders, trying to stop you from gathering the AO crystals. You can use different types of weaponries attached to the Cradle Coffin to fend off these incoming enemies.

Immerse yourself into an intense PvPvE battle. When playing online, you’ll also encounter other players trying to clear their own missions—be careful, they could potentially hinder your progress.

We would like to officially welcome you to the world of SYNDUALITY. Please stay tuned for more information!

Infinite Now Playable In Third-Person Thanks To Mod

While Halo Infinite is a first-person game by design, that doesn’t mean, like so many other games designed to be played a certain way, we can’t play it another way if we want.

As PC Gamer report, there’s a new mod out now that lets you play the whole campaign from a third-person perspective, not just those sections where you’re holding a big-ass weapon. Which might sound pointless at first since this is a FPS game, but one look at the mod in action will make you realise that this might be something worth looking into:

Doesn’t it look great? So many of these kinda mods, the ones that change an entire game’s perspective from the one it was designed to be played in, end up looking broken and/or unfinished (and often playing just as badly), simply because we were never supposed to be able to see a first-person character’s kneecaps.

Because Halo Infinite already has all this stuff baked into its animations from turret sequences and multiplayer, though, this looks as seamless and natural as though it was a toggle you could hit from the main menu. Which…it basically is once you get the mod installed, but more on that in a minute.

It’s the work of Opulent Halo, who also made all the videos in this post. The one above is more of a general showcase, while this one below gets rid of the HUD for something that looks even more cinematic, albeit also largely unplayable:

If you want to try the mod out yourself—and right now it works only on the game’s main campaign—you’ll need to first download the Infinite Runtime Tagviewer, then get the mod itself here. After that it gets a little bit fiddly, so you can check out a tutorial that Opulent Halo to help folks get it installed below:
