‘Kim Kardashian has purchased’ memes sweep social media after Princess Diana necklace purchase

Kim Kardashian has been at the center of the latest viral meme after purchasing an iconic cross necklace previously worn by Princess Diana for $197,000.

The 42-year-old mogul has been trending on social media over a cornucopia of memes on Twitter which begin ”Kim Kardashian has purchased.’

One of the more hilarious posts involved Hilaria Baldwin’s fake heritage scandal from 2021 as it read: ‘Kim Kardashian has purchased Hilaria Baldwin’s fake Spanish accent for $97,600.’

Breaking the internet once again: Kim Kardashian has been at the center of the latest viral meme

This comes days after she purchased an iconic cross necklace previously worn by Princess Diana for $197,000. Diana is seen wearing it in 1987

Back in 2021, several of 39-year-old Hilaria’s former classmates came forward to confirm that she was raised in Weston, Massachusetts, by American parents without a hint of a foreign accent.

The woman who first exposed the fraud, later told The New York Times that it was an ‘open secret’ in Manhattan that Hilaria had faked her heritage, and that she and her friends, ‘bored’ from the pandemic, decided finally to expose the secret.

In the next few days several videos of Hilaria’s past TV appearances resurfaced showing her commitment to a Spanish accent.

Better days: The woman who first exposed the fraud, later told The New York Times that it was an ‘open secret’ in Manhattan that Hilaria had faked her heritage, and that she and her friends, ‘bored’ from the pandemic, decided finally to expose the secret, Hilaria is pictured with husband Alec Baldwin last month

In one now infamous Today Show video that surfaced, Hilaria appeared to forget the English word for cucumber.

After her American heritage was exposed, Hilaria apologized and said she ‘should have been more clear’ about her connection to the Spanish culture.

Another funny meme was Game Of Thrones related as it had to do with the character potrayed by Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy.

It read: ‘Kim Kardashian has purchased Rhaenyra Targaryens Crown for $500k, TMZ reports.’

There were several other memes which hit the internet including references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Loki, Nicki Minaj, Lord Of The Rings, and even other memes like the ‘blue or white dress’ debate which swept the world in 2015.

Just days ago it was reported that the reality star had  bought the beloved purple amethyst-and-diamond-encrusted Attallah cross pendant during an auction held by Sotheby’s on Wednesday. The UK-based company confirmed the sale to DailyMail.com.

A source close to the SKIMS founder revealed that Kim is ‘honored to be able to own a fine piece of jewelry once worn by the late princess’ and to add to her growing collection of historic memorabilia worn by ‘strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.’

‘Diana was a woman of incredible style, beauty, and grace. Kim is honored to be able to own a fine piece of jewelry once worn by the late princess,’ the insider told DailyMail.com.

Days ago the reality star, 42, bought the beloved purple amethyst-and-diamond-encrusted Attallah cross pendant during an auction held by Sotheby ‘s on Wednesday

The cross pendant was made in 1920 by the jewelry company Garrard. According to Vogue, Diana was friends with the man who owned it, businessman Naim Attallah, who loaned it to her

‘This beautiful cross pendant will be added to her growing collection of jewelry, all pieces that have been worn by strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.’

The Princess of Wales famously wore the glittery piece of jewelry during a London charity gala in October 1987. She paired the lavish necklace with a black and burgundy long-sleeved velvet gown, which came with a ruffled neckpiece

The late Princess of Wales, who often made headlines for her bold fashion choices before she tragically passed away in a car accident in 1997, famously wore the glittery piece of jewelry during a London charity gala in October 1987.

She paired the lavish necklace with a black and burgundy long-sleeved velvet gown, which came with a ruffled neckpiece – and between the flashy pendant and the stylish dress, the Princess dazzled at the event.

The enormous cross pendant was made in 1920 by the jewelry company Garrard, and according to Vogue, Diana was friends with the man who owned it, British businessman Naim Attallah. The mogul, who passed away in 2021, loaned it to her for the event.

‘Few people could carry this piece off but Diana really could,’ Naim’s son, Ramsay Attallah, told the outlet in December.

‘When I was growing up, we’d always have it on the table for Christmas lunch, but it was never worn by anyone other than Diana and it hasn’t been seen in public since she died.’

The ‘bold and colorful’ piece came with ‘square-cut amethysts and circular-cut diamonds’ – with a total diamond weight of approximately 5.25 carats.

It is now in possession of Kim, who seems to have a knack for buying clothing and jewelry that were previously owned by famous figures.

In 2011, she scooped up a set of Elizabeth Taylor’s bangles for $65,000, and in 2017, she paid $379,500 for Jackie O’s watch.

In 2011, she also scooped up a set of Elizabeth Taylor’s bangles for $65,000 (seen)

And while she wasn’t able to officially add it to her collection, the mother-of-four also wore Marilyn Monroe’s famous Happy Birthday Mr. President dress to the Met Gala last year

But Kim’s decision to wear the dress parked a slew of backlash from social media users, after it was rumored that she damaged the gown. It is seen with a torn sleeve after she wore it

And while she wasn’t able to officially add it to her collection because it belongs to a museum, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum also wore Marilyn Monroe’s famous Happy Birthday Mr. President dress to the Met Gala last year.

Diana’s ‘bold and colorful’ necklace comes with ‘square-cut amethysts and circular-cut diamonds’ – with a total diamond weight of approximately 5.25 carats

But Kim’s decision to wear the gown at the Anna Wintour-hosted ball sparked a slew of backlash from social media users, after it was rumored that she damaged the gown.

And now, her recent purchase has resulted in more furious fire from online users.

‘She has a weird obsession with dead people’s stuff,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘She already ruined Marilyn’s dress and now she has Diana’s necklace… You will never be iconic, Kim Kardashian,’ said another.

‘Princess Diana looking down from Heaven, seeing that Kim Kardashian has bought her old jewels,’ someone else added, accompanied by a video of someone asking, ‘Who is this woman?’

A different user tweeted, ‘Kim Kardashian’s damage to fashion history is so disrespectful and gross.

‘And the people who keep selling her these items for profit instead of preserving them for history are no better.’

‘Can she just stop? I literally cannot stand her or her family. They are the epitome of privileged a**holes,’ a fifth tweet read.

Kim’s recent purchase has resulted in furious fire from online users.

‘Is she gonna open a museum of accessories and clothes of dead people that she’s desecrated?’ asked someone else.

‘The truth is that she’s nothing but a chameleon – doesn’t stand out on her own, only molds herself to what is currently popular/trendy,’ wrote another user.

‘That’s why she latches on to these iconic memorabilia from past stars. She has nothing but wealth and cheap tricks in her name.’

‘She can buy iconic items but she will never be an icon,’ read a different tweet.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Kim’s representative for comment.

‘Jewelry owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on to the market, especially a piece such as the Attallah cross, which is so colorful, bold, and distinctive,’ Kristian Spofforth, Head of Jewelery at Sotheby’s said in a statement before the sale.

‘To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the Princess’s growing self-assurance in her sartorial and jewelry choices, at that particular moment in her life.

‘We are confident that this unique 1920s piece of jewelry by Garrard, with such an exceptional provenance and only ever worn by the Princess herself, will attract the attention of a wide variety of bidders, including royal and noble jewelry collectors, as well as fans of the Princess keen to share part of her history.’

Jim Cramer Urges SEC to Do a Big Crypto Sweep — Says ‘I Wouldn’t Touch Crypto in a Million Years’ – Featured Bitcoin News

The host of Mad Money, Jim Cramer, says he would not touch crypto in a million years. He called investors who own various altcoins idiots and urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to do “a big sweep” on the crypto industry.

Jim Cramer’s Crypto Warnings

The host of CNBC’s Mad Money show, Jim Cramer, has issued more warnings about cryptocurrency. Cramer is a former hedge fund manager who co-founded Thestreet.com, a financial news and literacy website. He said on CNBC Friday:

I would not touch crypto in a million years because I wouldn’t trust the deposit bank.

He was then asked whether he is making a distinction between centralized and decentralized platforms. “They fought regulation. They didn’t want regulation and you don’t have regulation,” Cramer replied, indicating that he does not trust any platforms that do not want regulation.

The Mad Money host continued:

I’m just saying you are using a lot of blind faith, and I like to have my money at JPMorgan, and I check on Monday to see whether my balance is there. It feels good.

“Try getting your money out,” he advised crypto investors, adding that when he had money at a crypto firm: “It was a fight to get the money out — a fight!”

Cramer opined:

I think that everybody who owns these various coins — you know, solana, litecoin — I do think you are an idiot, okay. I did not go to college to get stupid. These people who own these things should not own them. They shouldn’t own them.

Jim Cramer Calls on SEC to Do a Big Crypto Sweep

Cramer also commented on the chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Gary Gensler, stating that existing securities laws are adequate for the regulation of the crypto industry. He wants the SEC to “come on and enforce” crypto firms.

The Mad Money host added:

I think they need to do a big sweep. They have to stop people creating money.

“It’s the creation of money by cretins. I don’t think cretins should create money and then suck people in. These are worse than even the worst Nasdaq stocks,” Cramer concluded.

The Mad Money host used to invest in bitcoin, ether, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) but he sold all his crypto holdings last year. Cramer has been advising investors to avoid investing in speculative assets, including crypto, while the Federal Reserve continues to tighten the economy. Earlier this month, he advised investors to get out of crypto, emphasizing that it is never too late to exit “an awful position.”

At least 2 killed in Alabama as severe storms and tornadoes sweep across the South

Editor’s Note: Affected by the storms? Use CNN’s lite site for low bandwidth.

CNN
 —

Severe storms and tornadoes swept through parts of the South from Tuesday into Wednesday morning, killing at least two people in Alabama and damaging homes, other buildings and downing trees in several states, officials said.

Two people were killed and at least one other was injured when a tornado hit Wednesday morning in the Flatwood area near Alabama’s capital, Montgomery County Emergency Management Director Christina Thornton told CNN.

“Thanks to the heroic efforts of our first responders many other lives were saved. We pray for our community as we mourn this tragic loss of lives,” Thornton said.

At least 30 tornado reports have been made since Tuesday afternoon, mostly in central and southern Mississippi and Alabama, as well as in Louisiana, the Storm Prediction Center said. Winds also knocked down trees in Tennessee and Georgia.

Storm damage includes:

Alabama: The tornado that killed two in the Flatwood area near Montgomery had winds estimated at 110 mph, the National Weather Service said. Tornadoes also are believed to have caused damage in the western and southwestern parts of the state, according to the service.

An apartment complex was torn apart late Tuesday near Eutaw Greene County, with a roof torn off and fallen walls exposing residents’ rooms, video from CNN affiliate WBMA showed.

A tornado with roughly 110 mph winds damaged the complex, the weather service said. The damage left some displaced residents taking shelter at a middle school, WBMA reported.

In nearby Hale County, many trees and some homes were damaged in the small town of Akron. One fallen tree rested on a home’s roof, images from WBMA and CNN affiliate WVTM showed. No injuries were immediately reported in Akron, county emergency management Director Russell Weeden said.

In Sumiton just outside Birmingham, a commercial building’s roof was blown off and struck a house, city officials there said.

Track storms as they develop >>

Mississippi: In Lowndes County east of Starkville, a tree fell through Mary Perkins’ trailer home, virtually slicing it in half.

The storm, which might have included a tornado, sounded “like a train coming through,” Perkins told CNN on Wednesday. No one was injured.

“I hope I can afford a trailer to get back in. … As old as I am, I don’t think about building a house. I hope for a trailer,” Perkins, a resident of the county for 34 years, said.

Volunteer firefighters helped some people who found themselves trapped in damaged buildings, Lowndes County Fire Coordinator Neil Austin said.

“We were successful in getting (to) some people that had to hunker down in their homes that were messed up,” Austin told CNN on Wednesday.

In the same county, a church’s steeple was blown off and a grocery store was damaged in the community of Steens on Tuesday evening, Cindy Lawrence, the county’s head of emergency management, told CNN. No deaths or injuries were reported in the county, Austin said.

Mississippi State University in Starkville briefly asked students to seek shelter during a tornado warning Tuesday night. Earlier in the day, classes at two of the school’s campuses were taught remotely and some dining halls were closed due to the threat. Regular operations were expected to resume Wednesday, the university said.

• Louisiana: Several homes were damaged in northern Louisiana’s Caldwell Parish, where the National Weather Service reports a tornado is believed to have struck Tuesday night, CNN affiliate KNOE reported. At least one home collapsed, with bricks, boxes, a mattress and other debris strewn around the area, KNOE video showed.

More than 41,000 power outages were reported in the Southeast late Wednesday morning, including 25,000 in Alabama, 12,000 in Tennessee and 4,000 in Mississippi, according to utility tracker PowerOutage.us.

Some parts of the South, including between Huntsville and Birmingham in Alabama, saw between 2 and 4 inches of rain Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the storm prediction center issued a rare “particularly dangerous situation” tornado watch, which is typically designated for the most significant severe-storm threats. That watch was in effect for central Mississippi, northeast Louisiana and southwest Arkansas through early Wednesday and has since expired.

Putin Insiders Pray for ‘Frightening’ GOP Election Sweep

Russian state media is following the midterm elections in the United States with great interest, but the mood in Moscow’s studios had noticeably soured in comparison to the fun-filled episodes of the years preceding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. While the experts and the hosts are still rooting for the Republicans, they stop short of promising the audience total salvation even with the GOP back in charge. Even the most seasoned propagandists can’t hide the fact that Russia’s war against Ukraine—and the global fallout that followed—is only going from bad to worse.

Appearing on the state TV show 60 Minutes on Tuesday, Dmitry Abzalov, Director of the Center for Strategic Communications, noted: “Of course we depend on the U.S. elections. Anyone who is doubting that should take a look at today’s dominating news topics. Every field commander is reporting that they’re plugged into American elections, planning to watch them at night. Why would they need to watch if everything was decided over here?”

Even former President Donald Trump’s anticipated reemergence on the political scene did little to cheer up Putin’s mouthpieces. During Sunday’s broadcast of the show, Sunday Evening With Vladimir Solovyov, the top pro-Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov described a video clip of Trump’s diatribe against President Joe Biden as the opinion of a “smart person who openly says everything that many Americans are thinking.”

Andrey Sidorov, deputy dean of world politics at the Moscow State University, bitterly complained about the Biden administration trying to force Russia to negotiate with Ukraine. The host and the panelists recoiled, questioning what would be the point of negotiations. Sidorov explained that the U.S. wanted Russia to retreat from the territories it occupies in Ukraine. Solovyov incredulously asked: “Retreat where?” Head of RT Margarita Simonyan blurted out: “To Siberia.”

After the midterm elections, we’ll see a glass jar full of poisonous American spiders, tearing each other up. Go ahead and eat one another!

Sergei Luzyanin

The topic of retreating touched a nerve, since the Russian troops are rapidly losing Ukrainian ground to the Ukrainian army. To negotiate at this point would mean to cement their losses and acknowledge Russia’s defeat. Sidorov proceeded to focus on America: “You’ve just shown Trump. Of course, I am a big aficionado of this former president. I even love his colors, the colors of the Republican party.” Sidorov recounted Trump’s dealings with the Jan. 6 Committee and added that they will be ratcheting up their pressure. Solovyov interrupted, “Lordy, so let them pressure him. Let them get married to each other, cut each other up or kill one another.”

Sidorov clarified: “We couldn’t care less how they feel about each other, but Trump generates a lot of hatred in America’s society. From my standpoint, the more they hate each other, the better it is for us.” He distilled the main talking point that emerged on multiple state TV shows: regardless of the party that may come to power in the United States, Russia is in dire straits in Ukraine. The best course of action proposed by the state TV experts was to stoke the divisions in the U.S. in hopes of placing the continued aid to Ukraine in peril.

During Monday’s broadcast of the state TV show 60 Minutes, Sergei Luzyanin, professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the Russian Foreign Ministry, complained of the bipartisan “Russophobic consensus” in the U.S. Congress and Senate. Luzyanin said, “A potential victory of the Republicans in the Congress and perhaps in the Senate, will mark the beginning of a political Halloween.” He predicted that in the next two years, Republicans will pursue a multitude of legal disagreements, court cases and impeachments, all of which will lead to exacerbating the already existing societal divisions and conflicts among the elites.

Luzyanin predicted: “After the midterm elections, we’ll see a glass jar full of poisonous American spiders, tearing each other up. Go ahead and eat one another! It will be a frightening political process… It may also lead to tactical or strategic changes in their foreign policy… Get lots of popcorn and let’s watch.”

Host Olga Skabeeva noted that she would prefer to rely on Russia’s own might, instead of hoping that its enemies will decimate one another: “We keep hoping it happens, but they’re yet to destroy each other.”

Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov explained that Republicans would turn Biden into a lame duck, blocking his defense budgets, among other things—which would negatively impact U.S. aid to Ukraine and therefore help Russia. He added: “With respect to driving in the wedge, we should certainly try to destabilize the situation in the United States of America… as well as their allies.”

To cheer up the viewers, a clip of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) promising last Thursday that “not another penny will go to Ukraine,” was repeatedly played throughout the show. Military expert Mikhail Khodaryonok, a retired Russian army colonel, couldn’t hide his irritation, as he noted: “Let’s not pay attention to the shrieks of certain marginalized representatives of Trump’s wing. Broadly speaking, they don’t represent the moods within the Republican party. Military aid to Ukraine will continue.”

Skabeeva concurred: “The situation won’t change for the better and we have to rely solely upon ourselves, on the Russian army. Republicans can’t help us to hold on to Kherson.” Later in the show, she added, “There aren’t many chances that the magnitude of the funding will change, but an everyday Russian keeps on hoping and believing. They’ve never followed the midterm elections so closely… We trust and believe in the Republicans. Do we even have any other allies?”

Astros silence Yankees bats yet again, win ALCS Game 3 to move within 1 win of sweep, World Series

New game, same story: The Houston Astros took ALCS Game 3 from the New York Yankees by using a robust pitching staff to utterly quash any hopes of offense. This time, they allowed only three hits in a 5-0 win, subduing the Yankee Stadium crowd and taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. The Astros, in their sixth consecutive ALCS, are now one win away from their fourth World Series in six years — and their third postseason triumph over New York.

The Astros are an undefeated 6-0 in the postseason so far.

Cristian Javier, a breakout arm in 2022, made his first postseason start Saturday night after 12 October relief outings. He struck out five Yankees, walked three and allowed only one hit. Houston didn’t exactly hammer Gerrit Cole, but they applied enough pressure to post five runs. First, Chas McCormick cranked a two-run homer after a Harrison Bader and Aaron Judge miscommunication in the outfield extended the inning.

Then, Cole left with the bases loaded in the sixth, only to watch reliever Lou Trivino allow all three runners to score. In total, the Yankees ace was charged with five runs, only three earned.

A stagnant Yankees offense hit the low point of its dismal series. Giancarlo Stanton’s fourth-inning double was their only hit heading into the ninth inning, when the Yankees mounted a brief but futile challenge. Manager Aaron Boone’s second lineup shuffle — moving Anthony Rizzo to the leadoff spot — still found no joy.

Houston trade deadline acquisitions Trey Mancini and Christian Vazquez came up with the key RBIs in that sixth inning to shush Yankee Stadium. Generally relegated to the bench, the pair came through as reports indicate Astros owner Jim Crane may not retain GM James Click — who he hired in the wake of the sign-stealing scandal.

But whatever the longer-term future holds for the Astros, the immediate future involves a chance to sweep the Yankees and head to the World Series. They’ll have Lance McCullers Jr. on the mound trying to do just that on Sunday at 7:07 p.m. ET. He’ll face the Yankees’ Nestor Cortes Jr., hero of ALDS Game 5 against Cleveland.

Need to catch up on the major October storylines? We’ve got you covered.
