Larry King’s wife Shawn King speaks out after TV icon’s will is revealed: ‘We are grieving’

Larry King’s wife Shawn King is speaking out after the late star’s will was revealed.

On Thursday, King’s handwritten will, which was obtained by multiple outlets, showed that King requested his $2 million estate be left to his children.

Notably, the document names his now-deceased children Chaia and Andy, as well as his remaining children — Larry King, Jr., 59, Cannon, 20 and Chance, 21 — as beneficiaries.

Shawn was not mentioned, and People magazine reported that the handwritten will was dated Oct. 17, 2019, two months after he filed for divorce from Shawn. His will was also written several months prior to the loss of his two adult children Andy, 65, and Chaia, 51.

LARRY KING’S HANDWRITTEN WILL LEAVES $2 MILLION ESTATE TO BE SPLIT AMONG HIS KIDS: REPORT

“This is my Last Will & Testament. It should replace all previous writings. In the event of my death, any day after the above date I want 100% of my funds to be divided equally among my children Andy, Chaia, Larry Jr., Chance & Cannon,” King allegedly wrote in the document, according to the magazine.

Now, after seemingly being left out of her estranged husband’s will, Shawn has spoken out, offering a brief statement to Extra.

“We are grieving as a family,” she said. “My boys just lost their father — they are my priority.”

Shawn added: “I will comment further when appropriate.”

The outlet reports that Larry Jr. has filed court documents requesting to be named special administrator of his father’s estate.

The docs allegedly said that because King and Shawn were in the middle of a divorce, she should not be appointed special administrator.

Larry King’s will was recently obtained by multiple outlets. It reportedly states that he wished for his estate to be distributed among his children.

“The Decedent was married to Shawn Southwick King (‘Ms. King’) at the time of death,” said the documents, per Extra. “However, the Decedent and Ms. King were actively involved in ongoing dissolution proceedings in Los Angeles Superior Court. The Decedent and Ms. King were residing separately at the time of death.”

Morgan Wallen speaks out amid ongoing n-word controversy, says he was on 72-hour bender

Country music star Morgan Wallen is speaking out as he continues to face fallout in his career after being caught on video using a racial slur.

Last week, a video leaked featuring Wallen using the n-word and since then, he’s faced fierce backlash from the country music industry. He was deemed ineligible for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards and his music has been pulled from iHeartRadio stations while he was also suspended by his record label.

Wallen, 27, previously apologized for using the slur, but has remained silent since, and was recently even dropped by talent agency WME.

On Wednesday evening, the singer took to Instagram to share an apology video.

“I’m long overdue to make a statement regarding my last incident,” he said, adding that he took time to collect his thoughts and “seek some real guidance.”

“The video you saw was me on hour 72 of a bender, and that’s not something I’m proud of either,” he admitted. “Obviously, the natural thing to do is to apologize further and continue to apologize because you got caught, and that’s not what I wanted to do.”

The Tennessee native continued: “I let so many people down who mean a lot to me, who have given so much to me, it’s just not fair. I let my parents down and they’re the furthest thing from the person in that video. I let my son down and I’m not OK with that.”

Wallen said he took time to apologize to the people in his life that he knew were personally hurt and engaged in “some very real and honest conversations” with leaders of various Black organizations.

He noted that he was “nervous” to engage in such conversations as he felt “they had every right to step on my neck while I was down” but instead, “they offered me grace and they also paired that with an offer to learn and to grow.”

Wallen said the kindness showed by those willing to engage with him inspired him “to dig deeper” and helped him to learn that “a word can truly hurt a person.”

“This week I heard firsthand some personal stories from Black people that honestly shook me,” he added. “And I know what I’m going through this week doesn’t even compare to some of the trials I about from them. I came away from those discussions with a deep appreciation for them and a clearer understanding of the weight of my words.”

“Our actions matter. Our words matter and I just want to encourage anyone watching to please learn from my mistake,” the singer urged. “There’s no reason to downplay what I did. It matters and please know I’m carefully choosing my next steps in repair.”

On a more “positive note,” Wallen shared that he’s now been sober for nine days since the video was taken. He admitted that nine days isn’t a terribly long time, but it’s long enough to recognize that he doesn’t want to be the version of himself in the video.

The star said “the majority of [his] mistakes are made” when he’s not sober.

“I’ve decided to go off the grid for a little while and get used to making good decisions,” he announced. “I want my team, my family, my friends and even strangers to trust me. Hell, I wanna trust me. Who knows if I’ll be able to live down all the mistakes I’ve made, but I’m certainly going to try.”

Wallen then asked his fans not to defend him because he “was wrong” and now takes “ownership” of the problem.

The film will also star Taylor Russell and will be based on Camille DeAngelis’ 2015 novel, which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “follows Maren Yearly on a cross-country trip as she searches for the father she’s never met in an attempt to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people that love her.”

The news raised some eyebrows, since Hammer has been the recent subject of numerous allegations regarding past relationships — including alleged Instagram DMs with the actor allegedly “appearing to write to a woman on [Instagram] that he is ‘100% a cannibal’ and desired to ‘drink [her] blood’,” according to Variety.

Up to this point, Hammer’s ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers — who separated from the actor in July of last year — has remained silent about the allegations. But she clearly noticed the unfortunate timing of the casting announcement, commenting on a Just Jared IG post about Bones & All: “No. Words.”

Jake Sullivan speaks for the first time with Israel’s national security adviser

U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan spoke on the phone Saturday with his Israeli counterpart Meir Ben Shabbat, Israeli officials tell Axios.

Why it matters: This is the first contact between the Biden White House and Israeli prime minister’s office. During the transition, the Biden team refrained from speaking to foreign governments.

Driving the news: Israeli officials said the call was meant mainly as an introduction and to kick off the dialogue.

  • One of the issues discussed was Iran.
  • The two national security advisers also covered the Abraham Accords — the biblical branding the administration has given to the individual normalization agreements between Israel and Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
  • In recent days, Sullivan made calls to his counterparts in the U.K., France, Germany, Japan and South Korea.
  • The White House did not comment on the call with the Israeli national security adviser.

The big picture: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is concerned about President Biden’s stated goal of trying to resume the nuclear deal with Iran. Such a move could result in tensions between the Biden administration and the Israeli government.

  • Secretary of State designate Tony Blinken said at his confirmation hearing this week that “there is a long way” until the Iran deal could be resumed.
  • He stressed that the U.S. will consult with Israel and the Gulf states before making any decisions
