Miley Cyrus details Liam Hemsworth marriage in new song ‘Flowers’

Miley Cyrus takes a dig at her failed marriage to Liam Hemsworth in her new single, “Flowers” — and adding insult to injury, she dropped the song hours before her ex-husband’s birthday.

“We were good / We were gold / Kind of dream that can’t be sold,” Cyrus sings. “We were right / ‘Til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.”

The “Wrecking Ball” singer’s lyrics present a double meaning, referring to the multimillion-dollar Malibu home she shared with Hemsworth being destroyed in a 2018 wildfire while also detailing how their relationship crumbled over time.

Cyrus, 30, goes on to sing that she “didn’t want to leave” the “Hunger Games” actor, 33, but then realized she is happier and better off alone.

“I didn’t want to leave you / I didn’t wanna lie / Started to cry but then remembered / I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand,” she croons.

Cyrus is seen dancing through the streets of Hollywood looking glam in a gold ensemble and big black sunglasses as she warbles the biting lyrics.

“I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can,” she continues to the melody of Bruno Mars’ ballad “When I Was Your Man.”

Cyrus’ lyrics suggest she’s better off without Hemsworth.

Cyrus also sings that she has “no remorse” and “no regret” and forgets “every word” Hemsworth has said as she lies by a pool wearing sexy black lingerie.

She is then shown working out in her lacy bra and underwear, signifying how she has only become stronger since their breakup.

The video ends with the “Hannah Montana” alum dancing around a gorgeous mansion wearing a man’s suit with no shirt underneath, hinting that the new home she built without a man is perfect for her.

The song hit YouTube and streaming services just before Hemsworth’s 33rd birthday on Friday.

Cyrus and Hemsworth were first linked in 2009 after meeting on the set of “The Last Song.” She later revealed that she lost her virginity to him when she was 16.

The couple secretly wed in December 2018, but Cyrus announced they were separating in August 2019 after less than a year of marriage. Days later, Hemsworth filed for divorce.

At the time, Cyrus had already moved on and was seen canoodling with Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn Carter.

Sources told Page Six that Hemsworth learned about their breakup via social media.

Page Six exclusively reported at the time that Hemsworth learned of their separation through social media when Miley’s camp released a statement announcing the news.

But insiders on both sides shared that the relationship had been falling apart for months.

Cyrus spoke about their challenges in March 2022, calling the brief union a “f–king disaster.”

Cyrus has since been romantically linked to Kaitlynn Carter, Cody Simpson and Maxx Morando.

The Grammy nominee has had no problem finding love again, though. She dated Cody Simpson for 10 months until their breakup in August 2020. And in April 2022, she confirmed her romance with Liily drummer Maxx Morando, whom she is still dating.

Meanwhile, Hemsworth started dating Gabriella Brooks shortly before his divorce from Cyrus was finalized in January 2020.

Shakira Slams Gerard Piqué in New Song With Bizarrap – Rolling Stone

The Colombian superstar let it all out on the highly anticipated track with the viral super-producer Bizarrap

The Argentinean producer Bizarrap has a way of disarming artists during his wildly popular BZRP Music Sessions on YouTube. The viral series has featured names like Residente, Paulo Londra, and Villano Antillano — all people who took the mic and let everything out over Bizarrap’s futuristic beats.

Still, no one was expecting global powerhouse Shakira to unleash the way she does on the latest BZRP Music Session. In fact, fans could hardly believe it when Bizarrap announced on Tuesday that the Colombian superstar would be the latest guest on his music series, and quickly began counting down until the YouTube video was released.

It finally came Wednesday night and it delivers on what was anticipated. Over an electronic beat, Shakira reminds people of the superstar she is and addresses her breakup from soccer player Gerard Piqué — the couple split last year after an 11-year relationship. “Una loba como yo no esta pa’ tipos como tu (A wolf like me isn’t for guys like you),” she declares, referencing her 2009 mega-hit “She Wolf.”

Trending

“I won’t get back with you, not if you cry, not even if you beg me,” she sings in Spanish in one of the most biting lines. “It’s clear that it’s not my fault if they criticize you. I just make music, sorry if it splashes you.” She pauses at the end, emphasizing “pique” in the Spanish word “salpique” — a clear nod at her ex.

The song is Shakira’s latest release and follows her Ozuna collaboration “Monotonía,” which came out last October. The video also touched on the breakup, showing Shakira walking through the streets with a hole in her chest while people around her trampled on her heart. Before that, Shakira dropped “Te Felecito,” an upbeat track featuring Rauw Alejandro. The song, which came out in April last year, hit Number One on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart — and signaled that Shakira was back in the studio working on new music. Fans are anticipating a new album this year.

Given the brothers’ tumultuous relationship over the years, the song will surely be full of emotions. In 2019, Nick got a restraining order after claiming his younger brother threatened to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.

Nick has since given a tribute performance to his brother Aaron while on tour with the Backstreet Boys and, with the help of his sister Angel, raised money for a children’s mental health charity.

Not long to wait: The Backstreet Boys singer has teased on social media that a solo single release is set for Wednesday 11 January

The Backstreet Boys singer has teased on social media that a solo single release is set for Wednesday 11 January.

Nick – who broke down on stage at London’s O2 as he performed with the Backstreet Boys less than 24 hours after his brother’s death – had a fractured relationship with Aaron.

Following Aaron’s passing, Nick posted several throwback photos of the two of them together and wrote: ‘My heart has been broken today.’

He continued: ‘Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.’

Embattled: Aaron, who rose to fame as a child star, battled mental health conditions including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and manic depression during his lifetime – he was found dead on November 5 (pictured February 2022)

‘I have always held onto the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.’

Nick’s caption went on to discuss his complicated feelings surrounding Aaron’s heartbreaking death and touched on the element of his younger brother’s longstanding struggle with addiction.

He wrote: ‘Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know.’

In 2019, Aaron revealed on ‘The Doctors’ that he was diagnosed with ‘multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression,’ according to CNN.

Tragic loss: Aaron allegedly ‘had an obsession’ with his estranged older brother and ‘looked up to him’ despite their feud (pictured 2000s)

In the wake of his death, Aaron’s representative has said he and Nick were working to iron out their differences before the tragedy.

The former child pop star previously accused Nick of trying to put him under a conservatorship, similar to the one placed on Britney Spears.

In 2019 Nick filed a restraining order against Aaron, alleging he threatened to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.

Nick wrote at the time: ‘After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today.

‘We were left with no choice, but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family.’

Nick added that he still loved Aaron and hope he would get ‘the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else.’

Aaron responded to the restraining order at the time by tweeting: ‘So my brother just got a restraining order against me. And I was just served lol.’

‘Take care. @NickCarter we’re done for life,’ he continued. ‘I haven’t seen him in four years. And I don’t intend to… I am astounded at the accusations being made against me, and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family.’

Hugh Jackman Begs Oscars Not to Nominate Ryan Reynolds for Best Song – Rolling Stone

Hugh Jackman, staring down the abyss of a potentially harrowing year filming Deadpool 3, beseeched the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to not give his costar Ryan Reynolds a Best Original Song nomination for the Spirited track “Good Afternoon.”

At the tail end of last year, “Good Afternoon” — from Reynold’s recent Christmas flick with Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer — appeared on the Academy’s shortlist for this year’s Best Original Song prize (the actual nominations won’t be announced until Jan. 24). The news, however, only just seemed to reach Jackman, who shared a video on social media expressing his concerns about this development (which are technically totally moot, but more on that in a second).

Jackman did, of course, espouse his love for Spirited, the film’s stars, “Good Afternoon” itself, and two of its songwriters Benji Pasek and Justin Paul (who wrote the music for the Jackman-starring musical biopic The Greatest Showman). But, he stressed, “Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination in the Best Song category would make the next year of my life insufferable.”

He continued, “I mean, I have to spend a year with him shooting Wolverine and Deadpool. Trust me, it would be impossible. It would be a problem. So, just to recap, love Spirited, love Will, love Octavia, love the song ‘Good Afternoon,’ love Benj and Justin. But please, please, from the bottom of my heart — do not validate Ryan Reynolds in this way. Please.”

Now, not to “well, actually” Hugh Jackman, let alone a silly, but still blatant bit of Oscar campaigning but… Well, actually, even if “Good Afternoon” did receive an Oscar nomination for Best Song, Reynolds wouldn’t be among the nominees. The prize is only handed out to songwriters and composers, not performers, and only Pasek, Paul, Khiyon Hursey, Mark Sonnenblick, and Sukari Jones are credited on “Good Afternoon.”

Trending

At best, Reynolds would probably get the chance to perform “Good Afternoon” at the Oscars. Or, as he quipped in response to Jackman’s video on Twitter, “I think the deepfakes that sung and danced for Will and I would love to perform at the Oscars.”

So, rest easy, Hugh. You’ll likely be the only top-billed Oscar nominee on the Deadpool 3 set this year (unless there’s a surprising number of Academy voters who loved Reynolds’ performances in The Adam Project or Spirited).

Hugh Jackman begs Oscars not to “validate” Ryan Reynolds with Best Song nomination

Earlier today, Hugh Jackman issued a heartfelt plea to The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts And Sciences: Please don’t validate or encourage Ryan Reynolds.

Jackman performed his comedic begging on social media today, as part of a post that was ostensibly about saving himself—ahead of a year of filming alongside Reynolds on the upcoming Deadpool movie—from the insufferability of “Oscar-nominated performer Ryan Reynolds.” The real reason, of course, was to give a shout-out to Reynolds and the rest of the cast and crew of last year’s Spirited, with the movie’s song “Good Afternoon” having apparently been shortlisted for Oscars consideration.

Per Billboard, here’s Jackman: “Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination in the best song category would make the next year of my life insufferable.” Jackman went on to add: “It would be a problem.”

Spirited — “Good Afternoon” Official Audio I Apple TV+

Of course, given that he and Reynolds are actually buddies—and that Spirited’s music was co-written by Jackman’s Greatest Showman pals Benj Pasek and Justin Paul—it’s not hard to read between the happy lines. “Don’t get me wrong,” Jackman said, “I loved Spirited. It’s a great movie, we had a blast, the entire family watched it. I love Will [Ferrell], I love Octavia [Spencer]. Obviously I did The Greatest Showman with Benj [Pasek] and Justin [Paul] — they’re incredible and I love their music … And ‘Good Afternoon,’ by the way, the song ‘Good Afternoon’? I laughed the entire way through, it is absolutely brilliant.”

(As Billboard notes, there’s no actual way that Reynolds would personally get listed as a nominee for “Good Afternoon,” since that category doesn’t recognize performers; writers Khiyon Hursey, Sukari Jones, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Mark Sonnenblick would get the nod instead.)

Other songwriters on the Best Song shortlist this year include Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna. The actual nominations will roll out on January 24, ahead of the Oscars themselves on March 12.

Dolly Parton has both a secret song and the secret to being married for 56 years

CNN
 —

You may have to wait for 23 years to hear this new Dolly Parton track.

The iconic singer shared during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” that seven years ago, she recorded a top-secret song and buried it in a time capsule to be opened in 2045.

“You have no idea how that has bothered me,” Parton said. “I wanna go dig that up so bad. It’s a really good song!”

The tune was written and recorded for the 2015 opening of her Dollywood DreamMore resort. The plan is to keep the song in the time capsule until the 30th anniversary of the resort, at which time Parton will be (fingers crossed) 99 years old.

She joked that she didn’t “know whose damn idea that was.”

“They weren’t expecting me to be there at all and I probably won’t be,” Parton said. “I might be there, who knows. I figure it’ll probably disintegrate and nobody will ever hear it, that’s what bothers me – if it rots in there before they open it.”

Parton also recently talked to ET Canada about another secret she has – the way she’s stayed happily married to her husband, Carl Dean, for 56 years.

She said it hinges on giving each other space, noting that with her busy schedule, “we’re not in each other’s face all the time.”

“He’s not in the business, so we have different interests, but yet we have the things we love to do together,” she said. “So it was meant to be, I think. He was the one I was supposed to have and and vice versa.”

“If anyone ever played that in my house, they’re instantly being kicked out.”

People were kinda living for Jenna’s hatred of the track:
