LG C2 OLED

Photograph: LG

LG OLEDs have the best black levels on the market because each pixel on the screen acts as its own blacklight. This model has even brighter colors than before, and it is the perfect size to use as a giant computer monitor when you’re not streaming your favorite shows. It does 120 frames per second at 4K, so it’s super smooth with the latest gaming consoles and PCs too. The 48-inch model is also on sale for $1,040 ($157 off). If you want to go big or go home, Buydig has the 77-inch model on sale for $2,496 with a $200 Visa gift card.

This is one of the best TVs I’ve ever seen (8/10, WIRED Recommends) for bright spaces. The giant, pedestal-mounted screen gets so bright it nearly hurts your eyes, and it has a super wide viewing angle that makes it great in bigger rooms. The backlighting system is also excellent, making this a great TV to watch darker content on.

Samsung The Frame

Photograph: Walmart

This is a TV that’s literally designed to hide in plain sight. It comes with a new matte finish that makes it look like the paintings it displays when not in use, allowing it to blend into even the classiest of living rooms. The picture quality is solid, but you do pay a bit extra for the party trick (not much extra today). The 2022 model is just $100 more.

The 55-inch version of this TV was down to $1,000 earlier in the week, so this is a good deal for the next size up. The image quality and processing are both fantastic. Expert Parker Hall notes that the TV leg design isn’t ideal, but a wall mount or pedestal will remedy the issue.

We have not yet tested this entry-level option from Hisense, but we generally like TVs from this brand. Dolby Vision HDR support means better colors. Built-in Amazon Fire TV functionality means a user-friendly interface. This deal price is $40 cheaper than we saw on Prime Day.

This is a Best Buy exclusive model, which means it was likely made with shopping holidays and doorbuster prices in mind. It’s not the fanciest set out there, but we generally like LG TVs. The price is right for what you’ll get—a big ol’ screen, integrated voice assistants, and good photo quality. It has LG’s own smart system baked in, so you may want to supply your own streaming stick.

Read our Best Soundbars guide for more details. We also have a How to Buy a Soundbar guide to break down some of the terms and what to expect.

Vizio M-Series 5.1.2

Photograph: Vizio

This isn’t the latest Dolby Atmos soundbar from Vizio, but we do like it (8/10, WIRED Recommends), and it’s a great option if you have a limited budget and want something with dedicated surround speakers and a subwoofer. You won’t fill a huge room with sound, but you’ll easily spice up an apartment or smaller space.

If your goal is to disturb your neighbors on purpose, you couldn’t do better than this sound system. WIRED reviewer Jaina Grey spent over a year with this beast, which includes two subwoofers and side and rear speakers, ensuring your entire room shakes from the earth-shattering sound. If you want it to, at least.

The Polk Signa 4 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) can easily fill an entire room with rich, Dolby Atmos-powered sound. It comes with three different sound modes, including a Night mode that limits your subwoofer so you don’t end up bothering the neighbors.

Sonos Beam

Photograph: Sonos

The Beam (Gen 2) is the Goldilocks of Sonos soundbars. It’s not the most powerful from the brand, but it’s the best balance of sound and size for most living rooms. The Beam supports Dolby Atmos and voice assistants (Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri); it processes faster than its predecessor; and it’s incredibly sleek, whether on your shelf or mounted to the wall. Read our Sonos guide for more.

If the Beam is the best Sonos soundbar for most people, the Arc (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is the upgrade pick. Our choice for home theater setups, the incredibly powerful Arc delivers deep bass and crisp sound. In certain rooms, the sound can bounce off walls well enough to mimic a respectable surround sound system. This soundbar is the most expensive in the Sonos line, so it’s a great opportunity to upgrade and save some cash in the process.

I am normally not a huge fan of bars this expensive that don’t come with a subwoofer, but the Bose Soundbar 300 has pretty robust bass, and built-in Alexa makes it easy to play Spotify and set timers when you’re in the living room.

Sennheiser Ambeo

Photograph: SENNHEISER

It’s not every day that WIRED editor Parker Hall refers to a soundbar as “some of the most advanced processing and audio quality we’ve ever heard from a single bar.” The Sennheiser Ambeo earned this high praise given its Dolby Atmos immersion, standalone surround sound, and overall richness (both in price and quality). Given the high cost, it’s great to grab this on sale.

Not much is worse than a giant bundle of tangled wires. The Platin Monaco (8/10 WIRED Recommends) is a completely wireless system that’s super easy to set up and control with the SoundSend app. The five-speaker sound system is really balanced and immersive, filling up small rooms especially well.

JBL makes great soundbars, especially in the entry-level category. I like this 2.1 option, which has a cool-looking design that sets it apart from other cheap bars. With a total of 300 watts of total power, it gets louder than more affordable options too.

Roku Streambar

Photograph: Roku

The Roku Streambar is an excellent compact option if you want to upgrade a TV’s sound and its ability to play your favorite shows and movies. This little soundbar has a built-in Roku streaming interface, making it a good all-in-one solution for smaller spaces.

This is a great way to get immersive surround sound inside smaller living rooms or apartments. Editor Julian Chokkattu likes that you can use the HEOS app to link it to other speakers for streaming, but his favorite feature is the dialog button, which makes it easier to hear what people are saying onscreen.

Streaming TV Device Deals

Read our Best Streaming Devices guide for other options.

Roku Ultra

Photograph: Roku

Roku regularly makes our top picks for streaming devices, and the Roku Ultra is one of the most powerful ones out there. While it’s not the convenient stick that plugs directly into your TV, this box has one of the most powerful processors in a streaming box, so you won’t see lag even when playing 4K HDR footage.

Despite introducing the world to streaming sticks with the original Chromecast, Google took its sweet time finally delivering one with a remote control. Now, the Chromecast With Google TV (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is one of our favorites. If you’re using an older TV and don’t need 4K, you can also grab the HD version for $20 ($10 off).

If you’re big into the Amazon ecosystem, then the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is our top pick for you. It has a faster processor than its siblings and supports Wi-Fi 6, making it the best-performing Fire TV stick. However, if you don’t need the extra power, you can also pick up the regular Fire TV Stick 4K for $25 ($25 off). And if you haven’t upgraded to 4K yet, you can save even more by going with the HD-only Fire TV Stick Lite for $15 ($15 off).

This doesn’t apply to the ad-free plan. It still may be worthwhile if you’ve been craving a Game of Thrones binge. This plan usually costs $10 per month, but new and returning subscribers can snag three months for $6 in total. Just note that it’ll automatically renew after three months, so be sure to set a reminder to cancel if you don’t want subsequent charges.

Hulu has a pretty wide collection of shows and movies worth watching, and right now you can get a year of the ad-free version of the service for $24, or $2 a month. Normally it costs $8 per month or $96 for the full year. Unfortunately, this deal is only available for new subscribers, or returning subscribers who canceled more than a month ago. The discount also doesn’t apply to the ad-free version, which is a bummer.

TV Deals That Appear to Be Sold Out

We’re leaving a few of these in here so you can check if they’ve come back in stock.

This deal is running low in stock and may or may not be available in your area. The U8H (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is one of the best TVs for the money. It has Mini-LED backlighting for deeper blacks and a super fast refresh rate for gaming with the latest consoles or a PC. The only downside? Some slightly awkward feet mean you’ll need to have the right TV stand.

Sony has the best image processing on the market, made better by the LG-supplied OLED panel in this display. If you’re after the best possible movie viewing experience for the money, look no further. The only downside? It has legs on either side, which I hate. Just wall-mount it or buy yourself a pedestal with the money you saved here.

This isn’t quite as pretty as the other 65-inch Samsung TV we have listed, but it is also a good deal cheaper. The pedestal mount still makes it super easy to place on existing TV stands, and the quantum dot and ultra viewing angle coating make this TV usable in bright, large rooms.

The TCL 6-Series is one of my favorite TVs practically every year. It has an astonishing picture for the money—this one even features Mini-LED backlighting—and it has one of the best interfaces, thanks to Google TV built-in. The only thing not to like is the wide legs, so be sure to wall mount this or buy a pedestal.

LG remains the only company that manufactures large-scale OLED panels, which means it has a huge advantage in offering buyers the cheapest option. This is its entry-level OLED, which has the same perfect black levels as others, and it supports Dolby Vision HDR. It does only have a 60-Hz refresh rate, which makes it less ideal than some other models for gaming.

If you’re purely interested in rock-bottom prices, it’s hard to beat this TCL deal. It’s a decent option for anyone looking to spend as little as possible, or if you want a smaller TV for the bedroom or kitchen. Roku is baked in for an easy OS experience. A slightly newer model is also on sale for $300 ($50 off).

Amazon Echo Buds

Photograph: Amazon

Amazon’s second-gen Echo Buds (8/10, WIRED Recommends) are our some of our favorite cheap buds. They come with Alexa built right in, a wireless charging case, and an assortment of earfins so you can get just the right fit.

This is our top pick for streaming sticks if you prefer to stick to the Amazon ecosystem. It supports most major streaming apps, but it promotes Prime shows and movies first and foremost. The included voice remote also supports Alexa voice commands on top of the usual suite of TV control buttons. The 4K Max is the most powerful version of the Fire TV Stick, with a faster processor and support for Wi-Fi 6. However, if you’re willing to sacrifice some horsepower, the regular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for $25 ($25 off). If your TV isn’t 4K-capable and you need a 1080p streaming stick, you can pick up the Fire TV Stick Lite for $15 ($15 off).

The Kindle Paperwhite is our favorite Kindle for most people. It’s waterproof, with brighter screens than other Kindles, and a spacious 6.8-inch screen. This standard model comes with 8 gigabytes of storage, enough to store around 5,000 of your favorite ebooks. If that’s not enough space, you can also pick up the Signature Edition for $130 ($60 off). There’s also the Paperwhite for Kids for $105 ($56 off) which comes with a 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ with a ton of free books, games, and videos.

Amazon Kindle Oasis

Photograph: Amazon

We loved the Kindle Oasis when we tried it out for its adjustable warm lighting, speedy processor, and sleek aluminum frame. Normally, we’d say it’s still too pricey to buy for any practical reason, but with this much of a discount, it’s pushing dangerously close to reasonable.

We’re still testing the new Fire HD 8, but it improves on its predecessor with a faster processor and thinner design while retaining its compact design and USB-C port for charging. It’s perfect for reading ebooks, watching videos, and just casually browsing the web.

There are also several other variants on sale, depending on your preferences:

  • Fire HD 8 Kids for $80 ($150 off): The Kids’ version comes with a rugged case to keep it safe from drops and dings, plus a 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, which includes thousands of games, books, and apps aimed at children (plus parental controls).
  • Fire HD 7 (2022) for $40 ($20 off): This is ideal if you prefer something a little smaller for casual book reading. There’s also a Kids’ edition of this tablet as well for $55 ($55 off).
  • Fire HD 10 (2021) for $75 ($75 off): This one’s got a more spacious screen, making it better for watching movies or videos. As usual, there’s a Kids’ edition of this tablet, too.
  • Fire HD 10 Plus Tablet (2021) for $105 ($75 off): Very similar to the regular HD 10, this model adds wireless charging, more RAM, and a softer material on the chassis.

The standard Amazon Echo (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is a handy tool for setting timers, asking trivia questions, and playing music. It impressed us with room-filling sound, and a 3.5-mm output to connect it to larger sound systems. It’s a bit bigger than previous Echo models though, so keep that in mind.

Amazon Echo Show 8

Photograph: Amazon

Arguably, smart home speakers are most useful when they have a screen attached. The 2nd-generation Echo Show 8 is one of our favorite smart displays, specifically for those who prefer Alexa. It goes great in the kitchen where you can use it to read recipes or watch movies while you cook. If you’d like a little more screen space, the Echo Show 10 is also on sale for $170 ($80 off), and there’s the smaller Echo Show 5 for $35 ($50 off).

This Echo Show is a little different than the others. It’s designed to be mounted on the wall, where it can display things like the family’s upcoming events, notes, news, and weather. We haven’t tested it yet, but if it sounds like something your family could use, this is the lowest price we’ve tracked.

If you’re not overly concerned with the audio quality of your smart speaker, then you can save a lot of money with the Echo Dot. It’s smaller, with simpler speakers (though they’re still not bad), and can do all the same things that a full-size Echo can. Amazon also sells a Kids Edition for $30 ($30 off), which comes with a cute design, and a 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+.

Gift cards are an easy stocking stuffer for the hard-to-buy-fors on your list. Amazon has a handful of options, and each one comes with an Amazon credit from $5 to $15—they all say exactly what you’ll be getting under the “Special offers and product promotions” section of the page.

We know you don’t want to cook this soon after Thanksgiving. This gets you $10 off a $25+ order, even if you’re already a Grubhub+ customer. If you aren’t, Prime members can get a year’s membership free.

Headphone and Audio Deals

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro

Photograph: Samsung

If you’re an Android phone user, Samsung’s Buds2 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) are one of the best options for mobile audio. They’re light and comfortable to wear, and the battery life is solid—5 hours with noise canceling on, 7.5 hours with it off). But the companion app only works for Android, so iPhone users won’t get the added benefits of EQ controls and finding lost buds.

Need to completely drown out the world around you? The Bose QuietComfort over-ears have excellent noise cancellation. They’re comfy like any other Bose, and the battery life is solid. If you prefer earbuds, the QuietComfort Earbuds II are discounted to $249 ($50 off).

Marshall Stockwell II

Photograph: Marshall

Marshall’s amp design is iconic, and you can get it in mini form here with one of our favorite Bluetooth speakers. It looks cool, but it sounds great too, with a smooth, balanced, and refined sound. It’s also durable and splash-resistant. For $50 less, you can get a smaller Marshall speaker with the Marshall Emberton for $100 ($50 off). That one is more portable.

Blue microphones have earned their reputation for high-quality audio from USB mics and the Snowball is one of our favorite budget options. It’s great for anyone who works from home if you want to sound better in all those Zoom meetings.

These ColorBuds from 1More (8/10, WIRED Recommends) have some of the best fit of any earbuds we’ve tried. It can be tough finding the right earbuds that won’t fall out of your ears, but if you’ve ever struggled with that, these might be the ones that end your struggle. Plus they’re dirt cheap!

We like a bunch of Beats models, and the Flex buds are the best for iPhone users who want to spend under $100. They include a neckband, which can be convenient—when you need to, just take the buds out of your ear and let them dangle! They sound great and have a long 12-hour battery life.

Shower Power Pro

Photograph: Ampere

The biggest downside to Bluetooth speakers is having to charge them. This speaker from Shower Power solves that problem in a pretty genius way: using the water flow from your shower head to generate electricity to keep itself charged. You can also remove the speaker and take it room to room, though just know that the audio quality is nothing to write home about.

The Flip 6 isn’t included in our best Bluetooth speaker roundup, but it’s still a good speaker and we generally like everything from JBL. It’s waterproof and boasts a long, 12-hour battery life. If you want to save a little bit, the older Flip 5 is also on sale for $70 ($30 off).

Remember when we all had little grey computer speakers to listen to our Limewire downloads? Well, these SteelSeries speakers (8/10, WIRED Recommends) are a much-needed upgrade from that. They boast incredible sound, and the software gives you the ability to fine-tune settings. You can connect them to your setup a handful of ways and there’s built-in RGB LEDs.

Photograph: Bang & Olufsen

The beautifully designed Beosound A1 speaker is one of our favorites, but it typically has a luxurious price tag. It dipped lower earlier during this sale, but it’s still one of the best prices we’ve seen for. It’s a portable speaker that doesn’t lack sound quality despite its tiny body.

The Back Bay Tempo 30 earbuds (8/10, WIRED Recommends) shocked us with the quality you get for the price. They have big bass-y sound, eight-hour battery life, and noise-canceling tech, all in an inexpensive package. With this deal, even more so.

WIRED writer Louryn Strampe says she takes this portable speaker to parties, to festivals, and on camping trips. It’s waterproof and gets super loud, plus there’s a handle and detachable strap.

The SteelSeries Arctis 9 is a comfy headset that pairs wirelessly with your PC, PS4, or PS5 and up for 20 hours of battery life. The Xbox version of this headset is one of our top wireless gaming headsets, but the PC/PlayStation version is also a great deal, especially at this price.

Logitech’s G735 wireless headset offers detailed sound, a comfortable, lightweight fit, and it eschews the typical gamer gear color scheme. In stark white with glowing LED lights around each earcup, they look just as sleek and light as they feel.

Vitamix 5200

Photograph: Vitamix

If you’re not a blender person, this might be the one to convert you. What it lacks in smart gadget bells and whistles, it makes up for in raw power. It features a 64-ounce container, and its stainless steel blades can spin so fast that they actually heat up ingredients if you want them to. Plus, it’s built so sturdily that it might just outlast most other kitchen gadgets you own.

Cuisinart’s cookware set is more affordable than All-Clad’s, and you even get an extra skillet for your trouble. This 10-piece set comes with six pots and pans, and four lids. The stainless steel construction should last for a lifetime, and the set comes with a warranty to match.

Every kitchen needs a solid foundation of pots and pans, preferably something like this stainless steel cookware collection. All-Clad’s seven-piece set includes a 10-inch frying pan, a 3-quart saucepan, 3-quart sauté pan, and an 8-quart stockpot, plus lids for the latter three.

KitchenAid Artisan Mini

Photograph: Amazon

There are few more coveted kitchen gadgets than the KitchenAid stand mixer, and this mini version with a 3.5-quart bowl is one of the cheaper ways to get one. Aside from a smaller capacity versus the 5-quart model, it’s largely the same powerful mixing tool that can make your work go much faster. You can lift the top of this one to access the bowl without having to remove it.

WIRED reviewer Brenda Stoylar loves this waffle maker. She’s used it to make chocolate chip waffles, cinnamon roll waffles, and TikTok-inspired “chaffles.” It’s a handy and sweet way to make several mini waffles all at once.

AeroPress Go

Photograph: Aeropress

The AeroPress Go (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is a great way to make coffee at home and while traveling. It’s incredibly lightweight, and makes one of the best-tasting cups of all the portable options we’ve tried. Though it can take a bit of experimenting to get it to make coffee exactly the way you want, a true coffee lover will enjoy fine-tuning their technique.

The super-sturdy Java is our favorite hand grinder. The handle is clever. It folds out and provides more leverage while you grind, and then you can fold it up, screw it down, and use it as a hook to hang the Java up when you’re done grinding. The Java handled whatever grind we tried, from French-press coarse to espresso-fine.

We haven’t tested this French press, but Fellow makes some of our favorite coffee and tea gear so we don’t hesitate to say this is going to make good coffee. Fellow has some of the best-designed and most durable kettles and brewers on the market.

County Line Kitchen Cold Brewer

County Line Kitchen

County Line Kitchen is a family-owned business in Wisconsin. Its Cold Brew Maker uses a trusty ol’ 2-quart mason jar and stainless steel filter basket to brew. You fill the basket with a lot of coffee grounds, pour up to 64 ounces of cold water through it slowly, and let it sit for 24 hours. When it’s done, take out the filter basket and use the lid to pour.

This is Vitamix’s entry-level blender, but it still packs a powerful 2-horsepower engine that will reduce the toughest nuts to a creamy paste. If you’re looking for a blender that will last but don’t want to invest a car payment for the privilege, this is a good place to start.

This smart blender is an upgrade over the popular Vitamix 750. It’s a bit smaller, but it comes with a touchscreen and a wireless connection. The base automatically detects the size of the container on top and adjusts its blending programs accordingly.

If stainless steel cookware is a little too rich for your tastes, this nonstick pan set from All-Clad is a great alternative. It comes with an 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch pan, including lids for the 10- and 12-inch pans.

Mr. Coffee’s One-Touch is our top pick for latte and cappuccino machines. It pulls as nice an espresso as it can from almost anything—we even tested it with standard Maxwell House coffee and it put out an acceptable espresso. That said, it doesn’t get you quite the same rich flavor as more expensive machines like a Breville can.

Layla Two-Sided Foam Mattress

Photograph: Layla

Mattress deals are not usually as good as they present themselves, but this actually isn’t a bad one on a mattress we like—it’s still $949 on Layla’s website. This all-foam option has one medium-firm side and one medium-soft side, so you can figure out what’s best for you. There are a few other beds discounted, too.

While we haven’t tested this exact Hisense TV, we’ve tested several previous models from Hisense and we typically like what we see. This model is the entry-level model in Hisense’s lineup, and shares some key features with more expensive models like Dolby Vision HDR and Amazon Fire TV built-in.

Honeywell’s Insight line is one of our favorites for its ability to purify medium-sized rooms—it maxes out at 200 square feet. It’s powerful enough to work in decent-sized living rooms, basement areas, and other spaces where small air purifiers struggle.

TP-Link Deco

Photograph: TP-Link

TP-Link’s Deco XE75 is our pick for an affordable mesh router, but it has a bigger sibling in the Pro version. This model comes with extra AI features to help manage your network, and with this sale, it’s closer in price to the one we already like.

The Eero 6 system is the simplest of all the mesh routers we’ve tested. It’s not terribly fast, especially at long distances, but if you’re looking to extend your Wi-Fi network without much hassle, this is the way to do it. If you want all the customizable power as well, the Eero 6 Pro system is also on sale for $389 ($210 off).

WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has been testing this air purifier for a few months and likes it. It roars alive when it detects particulates in the room (aka when he cooks bacon), and it’s not terribly loud. It’s on the larger side, so you’ll need to make room for it, but it can clean the air in a 517-square-foot room within 26 minutes. The filters are pricey. You can connect it to the Smartmi app to control it remotely (and it supports Google Assistant and Alexa too.) He’s also testing the Smartmi P1, which is also on sale for $108 ($69 off). It’s better for smaller rooms and adds HomeKit support.

Blink Video Doorbell

Photograph: Amazon

We’re still in the process of testing the Blink Video Doorbell, but we gave it an honorable mention in our Best Video Doorbell Cameras guide. It’s affordable, works with Alexa, and comes in both a tethered and battery-powered version. This bundle includes two of Blink’s outdoor cameras, which will give you broader coverage around your home (other bundles are on sale as well). This one is the lowest price we’ve tracked. Worth noting however that Blink’s privacy policy states that the company can share user data and content with law enforcement at its discretion.

Amazon recently launched this new mount for its Blink Mini camera, so we haven’t tried it yet. It has the ability to pan and tilt, giving you a 360-degree view of any room. This bundle comes with the camera, but if you already own the Mini you can purchase the mount separately.

We tried the Bluetooth version of the Pro-Ject record player. This one doesn’t include Bluetooth connectivity but it’s beautiful, minimalist, and well-built. The setup is really easy, playback is smooth, and there’s a built-in phono preamp so it’ll work with most speakers.

There are more powerful electric toothbrushes, but the Colgate Hum (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is the best smart brush and it rarely gets this cheap. The app is the best of all the smart brushes we tried, so you can get accurate tracking info.

Laptop, Phone, and Tablet Deals

Apple iPad Mini

Photograph: Apple

This is last year’s iPad model (8/10, WIRED Recommends), but it’s still excellent and powerful for most tasks. The downside is the dated look, with thick bezels surrounding the screen, but maybe you like it. It keeps the trusty home button and is the only iPad in Apple’s lineup with a headphone jack. Read more in our Best iPad guide.

This is a paltry deal, but if you want the latest version of the standard iPad (7/10, WIRED Recommends), you’ll have to shell out some more cash—it’s unfortunate that Apple had to raise the price, but it’s the first price drop this tablet has seen. It has a more modern look, now features USB-C charging, and has Touch ID embedded into the side power button. It’s plenty powerful for nearly every task you can throw at it, and the selfie camera is now centered in landscape view.

To see this price, you’ll have to add the iPad to your cart and continue all the way to checkout—it’s valid for the pink, blue, and space grey colors. The newest iPad Air (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is our upgrade pick. It has a powerful M1 processor and works with the second-generation Apple Pencil. There’s a better selfie camera with a higher-resolution 12-megapixel sensor, and Center Stage support.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

Photograph: Samsung

We refer to the Galaxy Tab S8 as a luxe Android tablet. It’s a tablet that sits at the premium end of the market, so now’s your chance to snag one for a mid-market price. The LCD screen is sharp, bright, and has good contrast, the speakers are good (for built-in speakers anyway), and it comes with a stylus. There’s even a mode that lets you go into a desktop-style user interface if you want to get serious work done. The slightly larger Galaxy Tab S8+ is also on sale for $680 ($160 off). This tablet jumps around in price, so it’s possible it will be back toward this price again.

Apple’s 14-inch MacBook Pro (8/10, WIRED Recommends) comes with the powerful new M1 Pro processor that can handle nearly anything you throw at it. It includes a 1080p webcam, 120-Hz display, and the return of the MagSafe charging port.

Apple MacBook Air M1

Photograph: Apple

The M1-powered MacBook Air (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is our favorite budget MacBook. WIRED reviewer Eric Ravenscraft has been using this one since it came out and its excellent battery life and speedy performance for its price make it a great workhorse, even if it is a couple of years old at this point.

The 2022 version of the MacBook Air (7/10, WIRED Recommends) didn’t impress us quite as much as the previous model, mainly because it was more expensive. It’s got a better display, brings back the MagSafe connector, and with this deal, it’s closer to a price we like.

Lenovo Flex 5

Photograph: Lenovo

Our top pick for the best Windows laptop, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 comes with a 360-degree hinge, letting you prop it up on a table, use it as a drawing tablet, or keep it folded like a traditional laptop. This model includes an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 16 gigabytes of RAM, 512 gigabytes of internal storage, and an included digital pen.

One of our favorite cheap laptops, the HP Pavilion X360 charges notably less for huge amounts of RAM than other manufacturers. This model packs an 11th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, a 256 gigabyte SSD, and 8 gigabytes of RAM.

Asus Chromebook Flip C434

Photograph: Asus

The Flip C434 is our favorite Chromebook because it strikes the best balance between price, power, and features. The battery life is impressive, getting to nearly 11 hours in our testing and the 14-inch, 1080p display and bright and sharp. We’ve seen it get lower than this before, but $263 is still a solid deal.

Apple’s folio keyboard for the iPad Pro uses Apple’s Smart Connector to connect, so there’s no pairing necessary, and it doesn’t even need to charge. Its slim profile means it’s nearly silent, and it won’t add much bulk to the iPad so it still fits neatly in your bag.

Another great option for the iPad case, Logitech’s Combo Touch comes with a built-in trackpad and a kickstand. The keyboard is detachable, so you can use just the kickstand to prop up the screen if you just want to watch a video on the tablet.

Asus ROG Phone 6

Photograph: Asus

The best gaming phone we’ve tried, the Asus ROG Phone 6 is a massive phone, with a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen and a 165-Hz screen refresh rate. It’s plenty powerful thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a whopping 12 gigabytes of RAM. Those top-tier specs get you some of the smoothest gaming performance available in a phone.

The Moto G Stylus 5G is powerful, has nearly two-day battery life, supports NFC for contactless payments (rare for a Motorola), and comes with 256 GB of storage and a 256-GB MicroSD card, so you’re getting a ton of space. With its 6.8-inch LCD screen, it’s on the large end for a phone, but it supports a 120-Hz refresh rate and there’s a built-in stylus you can pull out to doodle or sign documents.

Despite it’s awkward name, Sony’s expensive Xperia 1 III is a solid high-end phone. It features a 4K OLED 120-Hz screen, which makes it fantastic for watching movies (as fantastic as a tiny phone screen can be anyway). It has great-sounding front-facing stereo speakers and a headphone jack when you want to plug in. Its camera system isn’t quite the best, but gives you a lot of control over the results. If you’re a photo tinkerer, this is for you. The newer Xperia 1 IV is also on sale, but we prefer the III for its headphone jack.

Nokia XR20

Photograph: Nokia

The Nokia XR20 (7/10, WIRED Review) offers a headphone jack, expandable storage, customizable buttons, and wireless charging at a respectable price. It isn’t the fastest and there’s no nice OLED screen like you’ll find in some others at this price point, but it’s solid and at this price, a good deal.

The iPad Mini (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is one of our favorite compact tablets. It has the same speedy processor as the iPhone 13 and supports the second-generation Apple Pencil, letting you use it to draw or take notes. We’ve seen it at this price before, but it’s still the best price we’ve seen it at.

BenQ ScreenBar Monitor Light

Photograph: BenQ

Wired reviews editor Julian Chokkattu says his life changed after he installed this ScreenBar. It illuminates your desk space but doesn’t interfere with the screen. And because it attaches to the top of your monitor, it doesn’t take up precious space. It’s a small deal but it rarely goes on sale.

Chances are, the webcam in your laptop doesn’t deliver sharp results unless your office is properly lit up during Zoom calls. An easy fix is adding a lamp, and we like this one that clamps to your desk frame. There are several brightness levels and color temperature controls, plus you can adjust the actual angle of the light so it doesn’t cast shadows down your face

You must be an Amazon Prime subscriber to get this discount on one of the best cheap standing desks around.  It’s not the easiest to assemble, but it has a good range of height and after years of use, the single motor still works reliably.

This is an alt-pick in our roundup of the best office chairs. It’s a significantly cheaper all-mesh chair compared to the ultra-expensive X-Chair X2 K-Sport Mgmt Chair that we prefer (that one is discounted $50 to $920 if you click the on-page coupon). It’s not as comfy, and may annoy bare skin if you work in shorts, but mesh keeps your cool, and it’s adjustable and roomy and comes with two different sets of wheels so you can choose what works best.

Obsbot Tiny 4K Webcam

Photograph: Obsbot

This webcam automatically wakes up and points at you when you start a Zoom call and automatically faces away when the call ends—you can preset the position and the crop (so you can hide the clutter behind your desk). The video quality is pretty good too.

This keyboard from Razer is our favorite small keyboard for gaming. It’s a 60 percent keyboard that strips a normal keyboard down to the bare essentials, but it keeps all the fancy RGB LEDs that every gaming keyboard is legally obligated to have.

Logitech G915

Photograph: Logitech

The Logitech G915 is one of our favorite keyboards, particularly if you like to automate tasks. It comes with five extra programmable buttons that work with Logitech’s robust G Hub software. You can assign different tasks on a per-application basis, so all the shortcuts and macros you need for Photoshop, Excel, or anything in between, will work.

The ultra-slim and compact K3 mechanical keyboard offers a tactile click despite its low profile. It connects to your computer via Bluetooth, and a single charge should last you around four or five days—or you can use it plugged in via USB-C. This deal is available to Prime subscribers only.

Apple Watch SE

Photograph: Apple

The Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is the entry-level version of Apple’s wearable. While it lacks some of the flashier features of its more expensive sibling—like checking blood oxygen or ECG—it still includes most of the fitness features and apps that you’d want a smartwatch for, and all at a substantially lower price.

This is the best smartwatch for Android users. It looks sleek and is comfortable to wear. Plus, it matches the accuracy of Apple’s health and fitness metrics, from SpO2, sleep, and heart-rate tracking to electrocardiogram measurements (though the latter is exclusive to Samsung phones). The older Galaxy Watch4 is also on sale for $149 ($50 off).

Withings Scanwatch

Photograph: Withings

Withings’ ScanWatch (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is our favorite hybrid smartwatch. It will track heart rate, sleep and has FDA approved tracking for the blood-oxygen and electrocardiogram measurements. This is close to its lowest price. It has dropped to $229 and a bit lower during Prime Day and a few other days this year, but this is one of the best prices you’ll see on it.

An alternative to the Apple Watch or Pixel Watch, the Skagen Jorn features an always-on E-Ink display, workout detection, blood oxygen detection, and a heart rate sensor. Other watches may have apps, but the Jorn keeps things simple and therefore gets around 10 days of battery life on a single charge.

The Ticwatch Pro Ultra features Google’s Wear OS, sleep tracking, blood oxygen saturation detection, heart rate monitoring, and a host of other features to help you manage your health and fitness. The feature we liked most during testing was the Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra’s dual-layer screen. Tap it and you’ll see the usual AMOLED display, but when it goes into standby it uses a simple LCD panel to preserve battery life.

Whether you want extra storage space for your photos, music, or games, this speedy MicroSD card from Samsung delivers. We’ve seen it this low before, but this is still a good price for a high-capacity card.

iOttie Velox

Photograph: iOttie

Charging your phone in the car can be its own unique hassle, but this MagSafe wireless charging mount makes it simple. It attaches to the air vent in your car, while letting your iPhone magnetically attach to a wireless charging pad. It’s about as simple as a mount can be.

Many of Apple’s latest gadgets come with MagSafe wireless charging, which is convenient for each one, but it can be a pain to charge them all at once. This MagSafe Duo charging pad helps by giving you space to charge two gadgets, including the iPhone 8 or later, and Apple Watches and AirPods that support wireless charging.

If you’re going to put a case on your iPhone (and you probably should), then these MagSafe cases are one of the better options. Other cases can add thickness that reduces the effectiveness of the magnets, but these cases include their own magnets to make sure everything stays in place. The deal is available for the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, or 14 Pro.

This dock doubles as a microphone for video calls, speakers to pump out tunes, and a hub with an array of ports at the back so you can declutter your desk of those annoying wires. However, we like it for one special reason: right before your video call starts, it’ll light up with a chime. Just press the center button and your video-calling app will launch. It’s a great way to join meetings if you have a tendency to forget they’re about to start. It works with several calendar clients and video-calling apps.

Anker 623 MagGo

Photograph: Anker

We love all three of Anker’s MagGo wireless chargers. The 623 is cheaper, with a flip-up platform that MagSafe phones can snap onto. While it’s flipped up, there’s also a spot where you can put your AirPods case to charge those as well. Anker’s MagGo 637 dock lets you wirelessly charge and prop up your iPhone, but also includes several AC outlets and charging ports on the back to clear your table of wires. It’s on sale for $70 ($30 off) with the coupon button.

If you only need to charge one MagSafe-compatible gadget, then the official MagSafe charger is one of the cheapest ways to do so (when it’s on sale). It supports any MagSafe-compatible phone, which starts with the iPhone 12 and up.

Totallee Thin iPhone Case

Photograph: Totallee

Some protection is better than none, and if you don’t like the bulk that many phone cases add, then you might at least be better off with one of these from Totallee. They’re thin, so they’re not likely to offer much protection in major falls, but they should help prevent scuffs and dings.

This is our favorite 3-in-1 charging stand for older iPhones that don’t have MagSafe. The upright magnetic puck for the Apple Watch means your watch can take advantage of Nightstand mode (basically, a digital clock), and the center stand lets you place your iPhone vertically or horizontally. There is also an indented spot for AirPods cases, so they won’t slide off easily.

Crucial X6

Photograph: Crucial

This is our absolute favorite portable SSD and at this price, it only gets better. It’s nearly the fastest drive we’ve tested. So fast, in fact, that we were able to edit video files directly from the disk.

The Mars Pro 3D Resin Printer is our gift recommendation for fellow nerds in your life. It works by using ultraviolet light from a screen in the base of the printer to harden specific spots in a pool of liquid resin—layer by layer—until a full product emerges. So you can make Dungeons & Dragons miniatures, for example. The Pro 3 is our preferred choice, but you can spend less and go with the Mars 2 Pro for $165 ($35 off). That one has a smaller print volume.

WIRED writer Eric Ravenscraft recommends keeping this battery booster in your car. If your car battery dies, you can jump it yourself without having to wait for AAA or a kind stranger with jumper cables. Better yet, a single charge will boost your car multiple times.

These handy trackers can go on everything from your luggage to your bike to your keychain and, if you ever lose that item, you can track its location through Apple’s Find My app. It should be noted that there are privacy concerns with these trackers, but there are ways to find out if you’re being tracked by an AirTag.

If you can spend a bit more, the 633 is the star of Anker’s MagGo lineup. You can adjust the angle of your phone, so you can still scroll while it charges, but the real pro here is that the attachment point is a portable battery. Slide it out of the stand to charge on the go, and then just slide in back into the dock later for it to recharge itself.

Chrome’s Mini Metro is, as the name suggests, the smaller version of its flagship Metro messenger bag. This is a bag I’ve actually used for almost ten years now, it’s a little faded, a little worse for wear, but it’s still waterproof, still comfy to wear, and the buckles still work great. In short, this bag is a lifer, it’s going to be around much longer than most of your other bags.

One of our all-time favorite bags, the Greenland Pocket is about as simple as sling bags get. Just a single pocket, simple strap, water resistant outer, cute little leather Fjallraven fox patch, and a zippered top. It’s perfect for carrying masks (which you should still be wearing), a cell phone, and a cell phone battery pack.

Backbone One iPhone Controller

Photograph: Backbone

The PS5 comes with an M.2 slot where you can install an SSD to add extra high-speed storage to your console. This model from WD_Black is one of our favorite PS5 accessories, adding one terabyte of extra space. It even comes with a built-in heat sink to help make sure it runs smoothly.

Whether you’re playing mobile games or streaming from a service like GeForce Now or Xbox Game Pass, this controller attachment (8/10, WIRED Recommends) can turn your phone into a portable console. It pairs with any iPhone and includes adapters for most iPhones since the iPhone 13.

The 8Bitdo Pro 2 is our favorite mobile game controller. We find the D-pad in most phone controllers to be disappointing, but not here. The buttons and analog sticks are satisfying to use. This Bluetooth controller can connect to four devices so you can jump between them. It works with a Nintendo Switch, Windows (Steam), Mac, Android, and iOS.

Camera and Binocular Deals

Nikon Monarch M5

Photograph: B&H

Here’s a chance to save a few bucks on our top binocular pick for most people. Nikon’s Monarch 5 binoculars strike an excellent balance between optical power, quality, and price. The glass in these provides nice, bright views with very little chromatic aberration (the distortions or fringing that you sometimes see around objects in bright sunlight), and the 8×42 magnification is great. For $10 more you can get a bundle with a nice harness and cleaning pen.

As we note in our binocular guide, these are often on sale for around this price. They aren’t quite as bright as the Nikon Monarchs, and I did notice more chromatic aberrations, particularly purple fringing, but for the price, these are a good entry-level option.

I have not tested these extensively, but I’ve used them enough to know that they’re lightweight (10.9 ounces) and deliver a very good, sharp image. They have 8x magnification and come with a nice rugged, waterproof case. These aren’t just light, either. The folding design means they also easily fit into your pocket.

The Celestron Regal EDs are what I call a sleeper deal. That is to say, you’ll find very little information about these online, but they’re excellent binoculars, and the price is almost impossible to beat, especially on sale. You get great field of view (6.5 degrees), a sharp clear image, and very little chromatic aberration. I have not tested a better binocular that costs less.

Panasonic Lumix S5

Photograph: Panasonic

This deal has been coming and going for a few months now, but it’s still a great price on an excellent camera. The S5 is our top pick for those wanting to shoot video with a full-frame sensor. It’s a fine still camera too, but what really sets it apart are the high-end video features—like support for Log recording, anamorphic 4K support, and uncropped 4K at 30 frames per second.

Sure, the A7RIII is not the latest model in the Sony Alpha line, but you’re getting a lot for $2,000. The 42-megapixel full-frame sensor delivers sharp images and excellent dynamic range, and the camera is light enough to carry around all day. The image stabilization is pretty great, and you have access to a dizzyingly large selection of lenses.

Polaroid cameras aren’t perfect, but we love them. This Now+ outputs photos with that perfect grainy feel and there are multiple shooting modes and options. The app is just OK.

This is one of our favorite compact sling bags for toting a camera. Decent padding on the sides of the 10-liter size protects those everyday essentials for photo and video shoots—including a 13-inch laptop in the rear zippered compartment. There are two roomy pockets on the front, one with lots of pouches for chargers, SD cards, and batteries, and the other is lined with faux fur and is great for more delicate items like sunglasses.

However, if you’re willing to sacrifice some horsepower, the regular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for $25 ($25 off), or if you don’t have a 4K TV, you can pick up the Fire TV Stick Lite for $15 ($15 off).

Headphone and Audio Deals

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro

Photograph: Samsung

If you’re an Android phone user, Samsung’s Buds2 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) are one of the best options. They’re light and comfortable to wear, and the battery life is solid—5 hours with noise canceling on, 7 and half hours if it’s off).

The Beosound A1 speaker is one of our favorites, but it typically has a luxurious price tag. It dipped lower earlier during this sale, but it’s still one of the best prices we’ve seen for. It’s an easily portable speaker that doesn’t lack sound quality despite its tiny body.

The Back Bay Tempo 30 earbuds (8/10, WIRED Recommends) shocked us with the quality you get for the price. They have big bass-y sound, eight-hour battery life, and noise-canceling tech, all in an inexpensive package. With this deal, even more so.

WIRED writer Louryn Strampe says she takes this portable speaker to parties, festivals, and camping.

Vitamix 5200

Photograph: Vitamix

This smart blender is an upgrade over the popular Vitamix 750. It’s a bit smaller, but it comes with a touchscreen and a wireless connection. The base automatically detects the size of the container on top and adjusts its blending programs accordingly.

Cuisinart’s cookware set is more affordable than All-Clad’s, and you even get an extra skillet for your trouble. This 10-piece set comes with six pots and pans, and four lids. The stainless steel construction should last for a lifetime, and it comes with a warranty to match.

All-Clad Anodized Cookware Set

Photograph: Amazon

If stainless steel cookware is a little too rich for your tastes, this nonstick pan set from All-Clad is a great alternative. It comes with an 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch pan, including lids for the 10- and 12-inch pans.

Every kitchen needs a solid foundation of pots and pans, preferably something like this stainless steel cookware that will last a lifetime. This seven-piece set from All-Clad comes with a 10-inch frying pan, a 3-quart saucepan, 3-quart sauté pan, and an 8-quart stockpot, plus lids for the latter three.

The AeroPress Go (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is great for home and travel. It’s incredibly lightweight, and makes one of the best cups of coffee you’ll get on the go. Though it can take a bit of experimenting to get it to make coffee exactly the way you want, it’s difficult to make a bad cup of coffee with the Go.

The Java is our favorite super-sturdy hand grinder. The handle is clever. It folds out and provides more leverage while you grind, and then you can fold it up, screw it down, and use it as a hook to hang the Java up when you’re done grinding. The Java handled whatever grind we tried, from French-press coarse to espresso-fine.

Mr. Coffee One-Touch Espresso and Cappuccino Machine

Photograph: Mr. Coffee

We haven’t tested this french press, but Fellow makes some of our favorite coffee and tea gear so we don’t hesitate to say this is going to make good coffee. Fellow has some of the best-designed and most durable kettles and brewers on the market.

Amazon recently launched this new mount for its Blink Mini camera, so we haven’t tried it yet. It has the ability to pan and tilt, giving you a 360-degree view of any room. This bundle comes with the camera, but if you already own the Mini you can purchase the mount separately.

We tried the Bluetooth version of the Pro-Ject. This one doesn’t include Bluetooth connectivity but it’s beautiful, minimalist, and well-built. The setup is really easy, the tonearm doesn’t wobble, and there’s a built-in phono preamp so it’ll work with most speakers with little effort.

There are more powerful electric toothbrushes, but the Colgate Hum (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is the best smart brush and it rarely gets this cheap. The app is the best of all the smart brushes we tried, so you can get accurate tracking info.

To see this price, you’ll have to add to your cart and continue all the way to checkout—it’s valid for the pink, blue, and space grey colors. The newest iPad Air (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is our upgrade pick. It has a powerful M1 processor and works with the second-generation Apple Pencil. There’s a better selfie camera with a higher-resolution 12-megapixel sensor, and Center Stage support.

We’ve seen it get lower than this before, but $263 is still a solid deal

The video quality is pretty good, too.

Working on a cramped laptop screen gets annoying, and if you’re in a hybrid work environment, you can’t exactly tote your full-size monitor to and from the office. The Espresso display is one of the thinnest and lightest screens around, and you can bring it with you when you need it. This deal is on the 15-inch touchscreen model and technically just nets you the magnetic stand for free with the code.

Photograph: Corsair

The Corsair K100, one of our favorite mechanical keyboards, has not just one, but two wheels on it. One, a volume roller, is a handy way to adjust your computer’s volume that’s hard to live without once you have it. The other is a knob that can be customized to do anything from scrubbing through media to controlling the keyboard’s lighting.

Noco Boost Plus Car Battery Booster

Photograph: The Home Depot

WIRED writer Eric Ravenscraft recommends keeping this battery booster in your car. If your car battery dies, you can jump it yourself without having to wait for AAA or a kind stranger with jumper cables. Better yet, a single charge will boost your car multiple times.

The Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is the entry-level version of Apple’s wearable. While it lacks some of the flashier features of its more expensive sibling—like checking blood oxygen or ECG—it still includes most of the fitness features and apps that you’d want a smartwatch for, at a substantially lower price.

The older Galaxy Watch4 is also on sale for $149 ($50 off)

They’re thin, so they’re not likely to do much against major falls, but they should help prevent scuffs and dings.

TV Deals

Check out our Best TVs guide for more recommendations. Our How to Choose the Right TV guide might also come in handy.

Hisense U8H

Photograph: Hisense

The U8H (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is one of the best TVs for the money. It has Mini-LED backlighting for deeper blacks and a super fast refresh rate for gaming with the latest consoles or a PC. The only downside? Some slightly awkward feet mean you’ll need to have the right TV stand.

If you want a larger screen but don’t want to spend thousands of dollars, Hisense is a good brand to check out. I like this quantum-dot-enabled LED, which features brighter colors than the screen you probably currently have at home.

Samsung QN90B

Photograph: Samsung

This is one of the best TVs I’ve ever seen (8/10, WIRED Recommends) for bright spaces. The giant, pedestal-mounted screen gets so bright it nearly hurts your eyes, and it has a super wide viewing angle that makes it great in bigger rooms. The backlighting system is also excellent, making this a great TV to watch darker content on.

Soundbars and Speakers

Read our Best Soundbars guide for more details. We also have a How to Buy a Soundbar guide to break down some of the terms and what to expect.

JBL makes great soundbars, especially in the entry-level category. I like this 2.1 option, which has a cool-looking design that sets it apart from other cheap bars. With a total of 300 watts of total power, it gets louder than more affordable options too.

The Polk Signa 4 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) can easily fill an entire room with rich, Dolby Atmos-powered sound. It comes with three different sound modes, including a Night mode that limits your subwoofer so you don’t end up bothering the neighbors.

Streaming Device Deals

Hulu has a pretty wide collection of shows and movies worth watching, and right now you can get a year of the ad-laden version of the service for $24, or $2 a month. Normally it costs $8 per month, or $96 for the full year. Unfortunately, this deal is only available for new subscribers, or returning subscribers who cancelled more than a month ago. The discount also doesn’t apply to the ad-free version, which is a pretty big bummer.

The Link Between Grocery Shopping and Dementia — Best Life

Every three seconds, someone in the world develops dementia, according to Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI). That means by the time you finish this article, 40 or more new people will be facing this debilitating disease, for which there is no cure.

This fact is alarming because maintaining cognitive health—your brain’s ability to think, learn, and remember clearly—is a critical component of healthy aging. Fortunately, you can reduce your dementia risk with healthy lifestyle habits, such as eating a nutritious diet. However, food security and access to healthy foods that support brain health can be issues for older adults, especially those of a lower socioeconomic status.

Now, a new study reveals that older Americans receiving support with grocery shopping through a government assistance program can slash their risk of declining cognitive function. Keep reading to learn how it can help prevent dementia, and what it means for your brain health.

When it comes to food security (limited or uncertain access to adequate food), older adults are at greater risk due to a number of factors. Trista Best, RD, a registered dietitian with Balance One Supplements, tells Best Life, “A variety of life circumstances can place older adults at risk of food insecurity, whether it’s early health-related retirement, lack of family support, high rates of debt, sudden loss of income, undiagnosed physical or mental health conditions, poor financial planning, and more. These individuals can benefit from food assistance programs if they’re able to apply.”

Food assistance programs can be beneficial in helping older adults maintain access to healthy foods that support brain health and may prevent cognitive decline. For example, several studies have shown that food insecurity may increase dementia risk and limit cognitive function during aging, often due to decreased diet quality and increased mental distress as you age.

A new study published in Neurology found that older U.S. adults who participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)—formerly known as the food stamp program—have lower rates of memory decline than their counterparts who were eligible, but didn’t participate in the program. Specifically, researchers noted that improving food security among adults aged 50 and older can enhance their nutritional intake and lead to better brain function, thereby reducing the risk of cognitive decline and dementia.

“Less than half of the older adults who are eligible for SNAP actually participate, yet our findings showed that people using SNAP experienced two fewer years of cognitive aging over ten years compared to those who did not use the program,” said senior author Adina Zeki Al Hazzouri, PhD, assistant professor of epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, in a statement. “With the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias expected to increase, this low participation is a huge, missed opportunity for dementia prevention.”

Ground Picture/Shutterstock

Researchers examined data from people who were eligible for SNAP and participated in the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), a population-based study of U.S. adults aged 50 and older. Among them, 3,555 people were eligible for SNAP and had memory and cognition tests done every two years from 1996 to 2016. Only 559 participants used SNAP, while the others did not. The results indicated that older Americans who didn’t use SNAP experienced 1.74 to 2.33 more years of cognitive aging over ten years compared to those enrolled in the program.

“Older adults participating in SNAP have lower rates of cognitive decline. This is likely due to having access to higher nutrient foods that support brain function and lower the risk for chronic illness,” explains Best. “SNAP benefits also allow them to afford doctor visits and necessary medications to support their overall health, including cognition.”

Ultimately, educating people on proper nutrition and giving them access to healthy food is a surefire way to boost brain health and reduce dementia risk.

Peiyi Lu, PhD, a postdoctoral research scientist in the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia Mailman School, said in a statement, “While SNAP’s primary goal is to reduce food insecurity among low-income households and to increase access to higher quantity and quality foods, eating healthier may also benefit brain health. SNAP may also reduce stress and financial hardship, which has been linked to premature cognitive aging and reduced brain health. Future research should explore these underlying impacts.”

Amazon Device Deals

Gift cards are an easy stocking stuffer for the hard-to-buy-fors on your list. Amazon has a handful of options, and each one comes with an Amazon credit from $5 to $15—they all say exactly what you’ll be getting under the “Special offers and product promotions” section of the page.

We know you don’t want to cook this soon after Thanksgiving. This gets you $10 off a $25+ order, even if you’re already a Grubhub+ customer. If you aren’t, Prime members can get a year’s membership free.

However, if you’re willing to sacrifice some horsepower, the regular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for $25 ($25 off), or if you don’t have a 4K TV, you can pick up the Fire TV Stick Lite for $15 ($15 off).

Headphone and Audio Deals

SteelSeries Arctis 9

Photograph: SteelSeries

The SteelSeries Arctis 9 is a comfy headset that pairs wirelessly with your PC, PS4, or PS5 and up for 20 hours of battery life. The Xbox version of this headset is one of our top wireless gaming headsets, but the PC/PlayStation version is also a great deal, especially at this price.

If you’re an Android phone user, Samsung’s Buds2 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) are one of the best options. They’re light and comfortable to wear, and the battery life is solid—5 hours with noise canceling on, 7 and half hours if it’s off). But the companion app only works for Android, so iPhone users won’t get the added benefits of EQ controls and finding lost buds.

Photograph: Bang & Olufsen

The Beosound A1 speaker is one of our favorites, but it typically has a luxurious price tag. It dipped lower earlier during this sale, but it’s still one of the best prices we’ve seen for. It’s an easily portable speaker that doesn’t lack sound quality despite its tiny body.

The Back Bay Tempo 30 earbuds (8/10, WIRED Recommends) shocked us with the quality you get for the price. They have big bass-y sound, eight-hour battery life, and noise-canceling tech, all in an inexpensive package. With this deal, even more so.

Kitchen and Home Deals

Vitamix 5200

Photograph: Vitamix

This smart blender is an upgrade over the popular Vitamix 750. It’s a bit smaller, but it comes with a touchscreen and a wireless connection. The base automatically detects the size of the container on top and adjusts its blending programs accordingly.

This is Vitamix’s entry-level blender, but it still packs a powerful 2-horsepower engine that will reduce the toughest nuts to a creamy paste. If you’re looking for a blender that will last but don’t want to invest a car payment for the privilege, this is a good place to start.

WIRED reviewer Brenda Stoylar loves this waffle maker. She’s used it to make chocolate chip waffles, cinnamon roll waffles, and TikTok-inspired “chaffles.” It’s a handy and sweet way to make several mini waffles all at once.

Amazon recently launched this new mount for its Blink Mini camera, so we haven’t tried it yet. It has the ability to pan and tilt, giving you a 360-degree view of any room. This bundle comes with the camera, but if you already own the Mini you can purchase the mount separately.

Laptop and Tablet Deals

Accessory Deals

The older Galaxy Watch4 is also on sale for $149 ($50 off)

Whether you want extra storage space for your photos, music, or games, this speedy MicroSD card from Samsung delivers. We’ve seen it this low before, but this is still a good price for a high-capacity card.

The keyboard is detachable, so you can use just the kickstand to prop up the screen if you just want to watch a video on the tablet.

iOttie Velox

If you only need to charge one MagSafe-compatible gadget, then the official MagSafe charger is one of the cheapest ways to do so (when it’s on sale). It supports any MagSafe-compatible phone, which starts with the iPhone 12 and up.

Some protection is better than none, and if you don’t like the bulk that many phone cases add, then you might at least be better off with one of these from Totallee. They’re thin, so they’re not likely to do much against major falls, but they should help prevent scuffs and dings.

Apple AirTag

Photograph: Apple

These handy trackers can go on everything from your luggage to your bike to your keychain and, if you ever lose that item, you can track its location through Apple’s Find My app. It should be noted that there are privacy concerns with these trackers, but there are ways to find out if you’re being tracked by an AirTag.

Gaming Deals

Kitchen Deals

KitchenAid Professional 5 Quart Stand Mixer

Photograph: KitchenAid

This highly coveted countertop accessory is on sale yet again for Black Friday. While it typically sits on registries galore, the KitchenAid Professional 5 Quart Stand Mixer is almost 50 percent off, which is basically the next best thing to getting it as a gift. If you’re looking to save on space, the KitchenAid Artisan Mini 3.5 Quart is on sale for $260 ($110 off)—a little more expensive than the 5 quart, but better for smaller kitchens and households.

Much like the KitchenAid Stand Mixer, the Vitamix 5200 is a staple for housewarmings and wedding registries. You don’t have to go throw a major life change to justify buying it, though—WIRED writer Joe Ray wanted to explore making new cuisines and fell in love with it. Whether you’re blending smoothies, soups, or sauces, this mixer is powerful and durable. This is definitely a great opportunity to upgrade your blender, but if you’re looking to spend less, this entry-level Vitamix—the Explorian—is on sale for $190 ($100 off).

If touchscreens and wireless connections are your thing, the Vitamix Ascent has you covered. This blender is a little smaller than the 5200, but what it lacks in volume it makes up for in tech. For example, the smart base can detect what top you attach and adjust accordingly to ensure all your blending needs are met.

All-Clad Tri-Ply Cookware

Photograph: All-Clad

All-Clad pots and pans are almost heirloom-worthy additions to your cookware. I’m not kidding—my in-laws gifted us some that were more than 10 years old before we got our own new set, and they worked great. All-Clad tends to be on the pricier side, so now is a good time to invest in this classic, durable stainless steel set.

For those who prefer nonstick cookware, All-Clad has this five piece set on sale. What’s special about this compared to other nonstick pots and pans is that the set is anodized, meaning it has a protective layer of oxide. Nonstick coating wears off over time, and this process keeps the set more durable.

Much like our hand-me-down All-Clad, my husband and I had Cuisinart pots and pans for many years. They lasted us the four years of living together before we got our newlywed set, cooking evenly and looking slick. This is definitely a great starter set for folks who aren’t ready to drop so much on All-Clad, but still want something that will stick around a while.

It’s no secret that WIRED writer Jaina Grey likes De’Longhi espresso machines. However, they often cost a pretty penny, so when there’s a sale we have to holler. The Bar Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Machine is a good intro espresso machine that won’t break the bank, especially at under $200 for Black Friday.

The Vitamix 5200

Photograph: Vitamix

The two most important things for a drip coffee maker are getting the beans wet quickly and uniformly. This Hamilton Beach machine has the perfect cone shape for just that. Though we haven’t tested it, resident WIRED coffee expert Jaina Grey approves, given the build.

Sometimes TikTok tells you to buy things you don’t need, but other times it gets it just right. We love the original Dash Mini Waffle Maker, so suffice it to say we think it’s even better when you add cute hearts. With a Dash, you’ll get an easily-cleanable, compact waffle maker for all your Leslie Knope–inspired breakfast needs.

Nothing sounds better than having a fresh pizza straight out of the oven, with its bubbly cheese and thin, charred crust. DiGiorno can’t quite replicate that taste, but the Gozney Roccbox could. It’s a little hefty for a pizza oven—though not as big as the Gozney Dome—but it’s great for hosting pizza parties … or just making and eating a ton of pizza.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten about a warm cup of tea for an hour, only to then accidentally take a sip of room-temperature sadness. The Ember Mug is a great solution, letting you sip throughout the day while keeping your cuppa the perfect temperature. This mug connects to an app and lets you adjust the temperature from 120 to 145 degrees, and it has a battery that lasts for about an hour and a half, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your earl grey.

Smart Home Deals

Google Nest Mini

Photograph: Google

The Google Nest Hub Smart Display can do everything from answer your cooking questions in the kitchen to showing your favorite photos from Santorini. This WIRED-recommended display doesn’t invade your personal space either—it doesn’t have a camera (unlike many others in the market), so you don’t have to worry about placing it in more private household areas. It’s half-off, so it’s a good time to snag it.

The Nest Mini (2nd Gen) Smart Speaker improved light-years since the previous Mini. It sounds better, the machine learns faster, and it’s wall-mountable, improving your overall listening and Assistant experience. It’s over 50 percent off now, too, so let your Google devices get the glow up they deserve.

Google Nest Cam

Photograph: Target

As the holidays near, it’s important to keep an eye out for all of your deliveries—you wouldn’t want someone to steal from Santa’s delivery sleigh. The Nest Cam is one of WIRED’s favorite outdoor security cameras given its easy set-up, seamless Google integration, and 130-degree field of view. Santa may be able to do a lot, but sometimes he’s so busy checking his list even he needs help safe-guarding your gifts.

We’re still in the process of testing the Blink Video Doorbell, but we gave it an honorable mention in our Best Video Doorbell Cameras guide. It’s not only affordable, but it also works with Alexa and comes in both a tethered and battery-powered version. This bundle includes two of Blink’s outdoor cameras, which will give you broader coverage around your home (other bundles are on sale as well). This one is the lowest price we’ve tracked.

Amazon recently launched this new mount for its Blink Mini camera, so we haven’t tried it yet. It has the ability to pan and tilt, giving you a 360-degree view of any room. This bundle comes with the camera, but if you already own the Mini you can purchase the mount separately.

Hatch Restore Sound Machine

Photograph: Hatch

Holiday stress keeping you up at night? The Hatch Restore can help you drift off into a peaceful sleep and wake up gently with its programmable morning and night routines. Plus, you can subscribe to a Hatch Sleep Membership and get even more sleep sounds, bedtime stories, and guided meditations. The Hatch Rest is also on sale for $60 ($10 off) with the coupon button, so your kids can crash more easily at night, too.

This isn’t the greatest discount, but these sunset lamps make a great addition to any home. The small gadget projects halolike effects with pops of rainbow colors to make the space feel super cozy. All you have to do is place it on the floor, plug it in, and aim it toward a wall. It’s easy to understand why these sunset lamps have been trending all over TikTok.

The boosted Pro version of our top affordable mesh router pick, the Deco XE75 Pro 3-pack offers up to 7,200 square feet of coverage, 6GHz band support, and a 2.5-G LAN port. The AI-driven mesh makes sure that the system delivers the best Wi-Fi it can, wherever you are in your house. The Deco app also allows for a quick and simple setup.

Echo Dot

Photograph: Amazon

If you’re not overly concerned with the audio quality of your smart speaker, then you can save a lot of money with the Echo Dot. It’s smaller, with simpler speakers (though they’re still not bad), and can do all the same things that a full-size Echo can.

The new kids’ version of the Echo Dot comes with some of the same upgrades as the standard Echo Dot, including gesture controls. It’s available in two new adorable designs: an owl and a dragon. As with past models, you’ll have access to parental controls and one year of Amazon Kids+.

Echo Show 8

Photograph: Amazon

The Amazon Echo Show 8 is our favorite Alexa-powered smart display. The 8-inch screen is a great size for making video calls (there’s also an auto-pan and zoom feature to keep you in frame), reading recipes, and streaming content. Its compact size makes it super ideal for your kitchen counter or nightstand too. There’s a physical switch that cuts power to the camera and mic for added privacy. If you want a compact display for your bedside table, consider the Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen) for $35 ($50 off).

If you want a larger screen, the Echo Show 10 has a 10-inch smart display that also swivels almost 360 degrees (which can follow you while you’re on a video call or when viewing a recipe). You’ll also get better audio quality.

With a 15.6-inch Full HD display, this is Amazon’s largest Echo smart display to date. It also has a redesigned home screen with widgets for to-do lists, calendars, shopping lists, support for picture-in-picture mode, and more. You can use it to stream Prime Video, Netflix, and Hulu, or display art and family photos. There’s a 5-megapixel camera and mics built-in for video calls as well (which you can turn off for privacy). We haven’t tested it yet.

Streaming Deals

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max

Photograph: Best Buy

If you prefer Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant and watch mainly Prime Video content, go with this streaming stick. It works with most apps, but it is obviously geared toward Prime shows and movies. There’s a picture-in-picture feature so you can pull up your security camera feed without interrupting your current binge. The cheaper Fire TV Stick 4K is $25 ($25 off). That one doesn’t have Wi-Fi 6 support and has slightly less internal memory.

The Chromecast With Google TV (8/10, WIRED Recommends) finally brought the Chromecast in line with other streaming sticks that have a physical remote and a full TV interface. It’s one of the easiest streaming sticks (well, dongle really) to use, and I particularly like that you can add movies or TV shows to your watch list from Google search results and they’ll show up in the Chromecast’s interface.

Roku’s Streaming Stick 4K Plus, which is slightly discounted at Amazon right now, is our recommended Roku for most people, but this one is similar. It’s cheaper and the remote lacks hands-free voice control. Even though the above Chromecast has a nicer interface, Roku still makes our favorite streaming devices. They’re just easier for most people to navigate and have nearly every service under the sun.

Cleaning Deals

Dyson Cyclone V10

Photograph: Dyson

Whoever coined the phrase “it’s raining cats and dogs” must have been cleaning up after their pet because they make a mess absolutely everywhere. The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal makes it easier to clean up with its cordless design and powerful suction. This isn’t the lowest we’ve seen this cordless vacuum go on sale, but it’s still a pretty good deal.

The Roomba J7+ is the best of the best as far as robot vacuums are concerned. The precise navigation paired with powerful suction is top of the line, giving you the ease of hands-free cleaning and peace of mind that it’ll be done well. It even auto-empties the dust bin, so you don’t have to worry about keeping up with the debris too often.

Everyone wants to breathe easier. For those with allergies, the Honeywell Insight HEPA is a great air purifier for rooms up to 500 square feet, clearing the air of dust, dander, and even cooking odors.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT

Photograph: Audio Technica

This Audio-Technica turntable is our budget pick for the Best Turntables. It pairs with a Bluetooth speaker or you can plug it directly into an actual stereo. It’s not for audiophiles, but it’s for those of us who just want a nice record player to listen to over dinner.

A bunch of Target’s Wondershop faux Christmas trees are half off, but the deal ends tonight (Friday). There are prelit, flocked, slim, tall, and even pink, blue, and purple options. Real trees are great, and setting up a tree that’s been scrunched in a box is a pain, but an artificial tree is more cost-effective.

Black Friday Retailer Sales

Want to browse the sales yourself? Here are a few top retailers participating in Black Friday deals.

Holiday shopping returned to a lower-key normal this Black Friday

For many Minnesotans, Black Friday felt a lot like it did before the pandemic.

There were hardly any masks, no capacity rules, no distance signs and no glass between kids and Santa Claus.

But in a lot of ways, Black Friday was also no longer the frenzied marathon it was in the decade before the pandemic. With so many sales begun weeks ago, the early-morning doorbusters and long lines of shoppers were mostly gone. Inflation was top of mind and many buyers talked about sticking to budgets.

“I definitely want a good deal,” said Julie Nessly of Chanhassen as she headed into the Scheels store at the Eden Prairie Center shortly before 7 a.m. “If it’s not a good deal, I won’t buy it.”

Nessly and her daughter-in-law arrived at the Scheels store as it opened to look for ideas for their outdoorsy husbands and to get the good deals before they were gone.

But at Southdale Center in Edina, the state’s oldest shopping mall, there were only 20 cars in the parking lot of Macy’s when the mall’s general manager Judy Tullius arrived shortly before its 6 a.m. opening.

“The way people shop has definitely changed,” she said. “Macy’s has their Black Friday deals all week so there was no incentive to come at 6 a.m.”

The holiday shopping season lengthened in the pandemic years, when people shopped more online in 2020 due to health concerns and earlier in 2021 because of supply chain issues.

This year, retailers began promotions last month to help relieve a surplus of inventory. Even so, most of the revenue gains they were experiencing were due to prices that have been shaped by the highest rate of inflation in 40 years.

U.S. retail sales increased 7.9% in October, however, when adjusted for inflation, volume sales were actually down by 0.4%, according to analytics firm GlobalData.

The National Retail Federation — the largest retail trade group — expects holiday sales growth in stores and online will slow to a range of 6% to 8%, from 13.5% growth of a year ago. However, these figures aren’t adjusted for inflation. Real spending could even be down from a year ago.

According to a study done by consulting company Accenture, 54% of Twin Cities consumers, the most of any metro area it surveyed, plan to shop in-store this holiday.

“Maybe it’s not as blockbuster of a Black Friday or Cyber Monday as it could have been,” said Kelsey Robinson, a senior partner in the San Francisco office of McKinsey & Co. “It will still be two big, huge shopping days.”

The biggest crowd in the Twin Cities at the start of Black Friday was at the biggest mall: More than 10,000 people entered the Mall of America in Bloomington during the first hour after its 7 a.m. opening.

Hailey Rost, a 14-year-old from Lakeville, said she was happy to join her mother and aunt on a first-thing-in-the-morning run to the mall. “They have been doing it [for awhile] and we finally get to go this year,” she said.

While there to look for deals, Rost said she really just craved the chance to be in the crowd and explore the mall.

“Experience is key,” said Jill Renslow, executive vice president of business development and marketing at the mall.

“We are so much more than a shopping mall and the key to our success is the diversification of all of our uses from having the retail, the dining attractions, entertainment, and hospitality,” she said.

In downtown Minneapolis, a longtime tradition was revived at the site of the Dayton’s department store, which anchored the Twin Cities retail scene for much of the 20th century. Santa Bears, which Dayton’s first sold for $10 in 1984, were back on sale again at what’s now called The Dayton’s Project.

Dayton’s the store created new versions of the Santa Bear annually through 2007. Shoppers built collections of the stuffed bears. Dayton’s produced TV specials about them, and even worked with General Mills on a Santa Bear promotion with Cinnamon Toast crunch cereal.

A collection of Santa Bears is also part of the holiday window display at the Dayton’s Project, which is along Nicollet Mall between 7th and 8th streets.

In Loring Park on the edge of downtown, craft vendors, food trucks and artists set up for the annual Holidazzle event, which will take place on weekends through Dec. 18.

By mid-morning, the parking lot at the Target store in Edina was filled. Rebecca Peterson, of Edina, had a list of potential gifts as she shopped the toy aisle for Pokemon figures. In addition to her three kids, she is donating gifts to three different families during the holidays.

“Now I’m trying to figure out what would work best, and it feels like if I’m in the store, I can find the best options for them and I can ask other kids for advice,” she said.

By Friday afternoon, with the sun shining and temperatures in the mid-40s, it was nearly impossible to find a parking spot at the Twin Cities Premium Outlets in Eagan.

“We’re seeing some great crowds,” said Sarah Dorrian, the center’s director of marketing.

Even though Black Friday is no longer a mad dash, the holiday season is expected to be a comeback of sorts for the brick-and-mortar retail store, said Jill Standish, Accenture’s global lead for retail.

“I really do think this is going to be a physical store holiday, which will be really fun to watch,” she said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

53 Best Amazon Deals For Black Friday (2022): iPads, Apple Watches, and More

Black Friday is in full swing, and few retailers go quite as hard with online deals as Amazon. We’ve rounded up a massive list of our favorite Amazon Black Friday deals here, including the company’s own gadgets, as well as kitchen gear, laptops and tablets, gaming accessories, and so much more.

WIRED’s Black Friday Coverage

We test products year-round and handpicked these deals. Products that are sold out or no longer discounted as of publishing will be crossed out. We’ll update this guide throughout the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend.

Amazon Device Deals

However, if you’re willing to sacrifice some horsepower, the regular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for $25 ($25 off), or if you don’t have a 4K TV, you can pick up the Fire TV Stick Lite for $15 ($15 off).

If you’d like to save as much money as possible, you can also get the 2020 model for $10 less.

This is Vitamix’s entry-level blender, but it still packs a powerful 2-horsepower engine that will reduce the toughest nuts to a creamy paste. If you’re looking for a blender that will last but don’t want to invest a car payment for the privilege, this is a good place to start.

WIRED reviewer Brenda Stoylar loves this waffle maker. She’s used it to make chocolate chip waffles, cinnamon roll waffles, and TikTok-inspired “chaffles.” It’s a handy and sweet way to make several mini waffles all at once.

Laptop and Tablet Deals

Apple iPad Mini

Photograph: Apple

The iPad Mini (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is a one of our favorite compact tablets. It has the same speedy processor as the iPhone 13 and supports the second-generation Apple Pencil, letting you use it to draw or take notes. We’ve seen it at this price before, but it’s still the best price we’ve seen it at.

The new 10th-gen iPad is on sale for the first time, but for a paltry $23 discount.

Accessory Deals

Apple Watch SE

Photograph: Apple

The Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is the entry-level version of Apple’s wearable. While it lacks some of the flashier features of its more expensive sibling—like checking blood oxygen or ECG—it still includes most of the fitness features and apps that you’d want a smartwatch for, at a substantially lower price.

The keyboard is detachable, so you can use just the kickstand to prop up the screen if you just want to watch a video on the tablet.

iOttie Velox

Anker 623 MagGo

Photograph: Anker

On the slightly cheaper side, Anker’s 623 MagGo wireless charger has a flip-up platform that MagSafe phones can snap onto. While it’s flipped up, there’s also a spot where you can put your AirPods case to charge those as well. We also love this Anker MagGo 637 dock, which lets you wirelessly charge and prop up your iPhone, but also includes several AC outlets and charging ports on the back to clear your table of wires.

This is our absolute favorite portable SSD and at this price, it only gets better. It’s nearly the fastest drive we’ve tested. So fast, in fact, that we were able to edit video files directly from the disk.

Her tresses were worn sleek and straight and she sported a radiant palette of make-up.

Conversations With Friends star Joe wore an emerald green sweater and baggy jeans as he strolled alongside his love.

Taylor and Joe’s public outing comes just days before the release of her 10th studio album, Midnights on October 21 – with the star recently revealing track, Lavender Haze, was written about her love for Joe.

Speaking on her TikTok series, Midnights, Mayhem & Me, she said: ‘I happened upon the phrase ‘lavender haze’ when I was watching Mad Men.

‘I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love.

‘I guess theoretically, when you’re in the lavender haze, you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud.

‘I think a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just ‘public figures,’ because we live in the era of social media. If the world finds out that you’re in love with somebody, they’re going to weigh in on it.’

‘Like, my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff — and we just ignore it. This song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.

At the start of July it was reported that Taylor had been engaged to her boyfriend for a ‘few months.’

The Sun claimed that the singer has been wearing an engagement ring ‘behind closed doors’ and that the couple have only informed their close friends of the news.

Taylor began dating Joe in late 2016 after they were rumored to have crossed paths at that year’s Met Gala in New York City.

DailyMail.com reached out to Taylor’s representatives for comment at the time.

‘Taylor and Joe are incredibly happy, and very, very in love,’ a source claiming to be close to Joe told the outlet at the start of July.

‘They’ve actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner-inner circle — basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends.

‘Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too.’

The insider alleged that Joe presented Taylor with a ‘beautiful ring’ but ‘she only wears it when she’s at home’, i.e., behind closed doors.

‘Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team about the engagement,’ they claimed.

The source also told The Sun that Taylor and Joe ‘want their love to stay away from the cameras as much as possible’ and that their alleged engagement is ‘just for them.

‘And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely won’t be any Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! magazines there. It will be simple and elegant — like them.’

According to the outlet, there are ‘no specific wedding details’ and it is unknown if the couple will officially announce the alleged engagement.

The Lover singer reportedly kicked off her romance with Joe just months after her shock split from Loki actor, Tom Hiddleston, in September 2016.

Taylor gave fans insight into their burgeoning romance by alluding to Joe in lyrics on her hit 2017 album Reputation, including the song Gorgeous where she recalls ‘making fun of’ his English accent.

The Grammy Award-winner opened up even more on her 2019 album Lover, where she gushed about her ‘London boy’ on multiple tracks.

The song Cruel Summer is also rumored to be about the overlap between the beginning of her romance with Joe and the end of her fling with Hiddleston.

Joe told The Sunday Times in 2018 that he finds it ‘flattering’ that Taylor uses him as her musical muse.

Just two years later, Taylor welcomed her beau into the songwriting world by allowing him to pen lyrics for her 2020 alum, Folklore.

Using the pseudonym ‘William Bowery,’ Joe co-wrote two songs for the Grammy Award-winning album and three more songs for Folklore’s sister record Evermore.

Although she feels safe opening up in her music, Taylor previously stated that her relationship with the British hunk ‘isn’t up for discussion’ in the press.

She discussed the decision to keep their romance ‘private’ in her 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana, which included rare footage of herself and Joe.

Taylor has dated a number of high-profile men over the course of her young life, including pop rocker Harry Styles, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, DJ Calvin Harris, singer Joe Jonas and rock heartthrob John Mayer.
