Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers Reunite for Breakfast After Breakup

From break up to breakfast.

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodger were spotted together at Erewhon Market in Los Angeles on Feb. 22, about a week after E! News reported that they had ended their romantic relationship.

One source exclusively told E! News that “they came to the cafe for breakfast and just sat outside at a table together.”

The source confirmed it was just the two of them, but they didn’t “hang out too long.”

After being engaged for over a year, the two eventually called it off, with a separate source telling E! News why it didn’t work out between them.

“They are two very different people,” the second source explained. “They are both focused on their careers but it took them in separate directions,” they said, adding, “They remain supportive of one another and on good terms.”

Want proof of their positive dynamic? Aaron spoke about Shailene on the Pat McAfee Show on Feb. 22, reflecting on their relationship and how he “learned so much” from her.

Aaron Rodgers hints that he and Shailene Woodley are together

Perhaps he called an audible on calling it quits?

Aaron Rodgers appeared to hint that he and Shailene Woodley are still together despite multiple insiders saying they have broken up and the “Divergent” star being spotted without her engagement ring less than a week ago.

“When your home life is stable and you have an amazing partner to do life with, it just makes the work life a bonus,” the NFL MVP, 38, said on “The Pat McAfee Show” Tuesday, “and it changes your perspective because you’re able to not look at work as, like, a refuge.”

Rodgers said he recently told Woodley, 30, “I’ve been with you two years, won two MVPs — that’s not a coincidence, either.”

He said significant others of athletes are often looked at as “possible distractions,” but he credits the “Big Little Lies” star for much of his success in the NFL in recent years.

“I know, for me, it’s been great the last two seasons to have that stability at home,” the Green Bay Packers quarterback added.

Aaron Rodgers appeared to hint that he and Shailene Woodley have not broken up, despite reports that say otherwise.

“When things are good in your personal life and your relationships, your friendships, your loved ones, it allows you to just relax and be so much more grateful, I think, for the little things in life,” Rodgers reiterated to McAfee.

When asked whether Woodley has “changed” and “shaped” him since they’ve started dating, the football player responded, “Oh yeah, without a doubt.”

“I’ve learned so much from her,” he said. “She’s just an incredible woman — talented, smart, kind. I said it last night, she taught me what unconditional love looks like.”

Aaron Rodgers thanked rumored ex Shailene Woodley on Instagram amid reports they have split.

Rodgers was referencing an Instagram post he shared Monday, in which he spoke about gratitude, thanked Woodley for “always having my back” and even shared a picture of the couple cuddling.

The quarterback also said on McAfee’s show that having a partner like the “Fault in Our Stars” actress makes life “more enjoyable, and tasteful and exciting.”

“When you meet your person, life just changes, and you can’t possibly not be changed being around those special people that we meet,” he continued, singing her praises. “Friendships can do that. Relationships can do that. And you’re never the same because you know that you can’t be.”

However, in the interview, Rodgers may have also given insight into what may have produced the split rumors.

One of the insiders, who claimed to know about the breakup, told People, “They’re very different people with busy careers, and there were obstacles that they couldn’t surmount.”

A source previously said the couple have a “different, non-traditional relationship.”

Rodgers previously admitted he did not get the COVID-19 vaccine, and sources said the couple were “not talking about their politics” and had decided to “agree to disagree about things and not debate them.”

Rodgers told McAfee that he had “a lot of feelings of remorse” about that situation and how it affected Woodley and his other loved ones.

He said, “I am very sorry to those people — Shai, my loved ones, and my agents … I didn’t realize the kind of shrapnel they’d be taking.”

Rodgers continued, “I never meant to get you in the middle of it, but you got into it by proxy because of your relationship with me, and I love you guys. I appreciate the support.”

The pair began dating in 2020, and in February 2021, while accepting the Most Valuable Player award during the NFL Honors, Rodgers casually thanked his “fiancée” — without naming her.

A source then confirmed to People soon after that the pair were, in fact, engaged.

A rep for Woodley did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on Rodgers’ latest interview.

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley’s split linked to busy careers and differing politics

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley’s split linked to busy careers and differing politics: ‘No one in their circle is surprised this didn’t work out’

  • NFL star, 38, and actress, 30, split this week after year-long engagement
  • Source said romance ‘was a mismatch from the start’
  • Couple initially began dating in July of 2020
  • Rodgers announced their engagement in February of 2021

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley’s breakup did not come as a surprise to confidantes of the former celebrity couple.

Insiders close to the Green Bay Packers quarterback, 38, and Big Little Lies actress, 30, spoke with People in a piece published Thursday in the wake of the couple’s breakup more than a year after they announced their engagement.

The NFL staple and Divergent star ‘fell hard and fast, but it was a mismatch from the start,’ a source told the outlet. ‘No one in their circle is surprised this didn’t work out.’

The latest: The split of Aaron Rodgers, 38, and Shailene Woodley, 30, breakup did not come as a surprise to confidantes of the former celebrity couple, as multiple sources detailed issues with the relationship following their split

The insider said of the couple, who first began dating in July of 2020: ‘In the bubble of the pandemic, it was easy for them to fall in love and focus only on their relationship but that’s not real life.’

The source noted that ‘Aaron’s a complicated guy,’ following an NFL season in which Rodgers won his fourth MVP award, which is second-most in the history of the league.

A separate insider close to the football star on Wednesday told the outlet that the couple’s split was amicable, as the relationship ‘just wasn’t working.

‘They’re very different people with busy careers and there were obstacles that they couldn’t surmount. They will remain friendly; there’s no bad blood and no drama. It just didn’t work out for them.’

The former pair was seen on a Walt Disney World vacation in Florida last year

Woodley was seen in March of 2020 in Paris during Paris Fashion Week

Sources told US Weekly Thursday that Rodgers and Woodley ‘certainly had their differences and ultimately their relationship didn’t work.

‘They thought were a good match for each other in the beginning but the more they got to know each other they realized their careers, their interests [and] their political views weren’t aligned.’

Woodley has past garnered attention for her activism on environmental issues, including a 2016 arrest in Standing Rock, North Dakota in connection with a protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

A source also pointed to Rodgers focus on his NFL career as an issue, saying that the quarterback ‘was focusing more on the sport than on future plans with Shailene’

Rodgers earlier this month won his fourth MVP award, which is second-most in the history of the league

Rodgers made headlines in November when he missed a game after testing positive for COVID-19, following misleading remarks about his vaccination status, as he had said he’d been ‘immunized’ last summer. Rodgers in January criticized President Joe Biden for his administration’s response to the pandemic.

A source also pointed to Rodgers focus on his NFL career as an issue, saying that the quarterback ‘was focusing more on the sport than on future plans with Shailene.’

Woodley was also ‘super busy with work’ prior to the split, a source told the publication on Wednesday, adding that ‘everything was so different during lockdown, and they had been living in their bubble.’

An insider told People in January that the couple decided to ‘agree to disagree’ on certain topics, and avoided speaking about political issues.

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers call off their engagement

“They grew apart, both have busy careers and unfortunately their relationship took a backseat. There is no animosity and they will remain friends,” the source said.

Their respective representatives have not responded to CNN’s request for comment.

Their break up comes nearly one year after Woodley’s interview with Jimmy Fallon in which she confirmed that she was planning to wed the football star.

“Yes, we are engaged,” Woodley said. “We are engaged. But for us, it’s not new news, you know, so it’s kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.'”

Woodley had also said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic she had yet to see Rodgers play quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

“We met during this whacky, whacky time and all of the stadiums were closed that he was playing in, so I’ve yet to go to a football game,’ she added. “I didn’t really grow up with sports, especially American sports; it was never really on my radar.”

Why Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers’ Relationship “Didn’t Work Out”

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers have benched their relationship.

The Big Little Lies star, 30, and Green Bay Packers quarterback, 38, broke up about a year after getting engaged, a source confirmed to E! News on Feb. 16. As the insider exclusively tells E! News, “it didn’t work out” for the busy couple.

But why? Though Shailene previously called her ex-fiancé a “wonderful, incredible human being,” it seems they’ve been growing apart in recent months.

“They are two very different people,” explains the source. “They are both focused on their careers but it took them in separate directions.”

As for where the former lovers stand now, the source adds, “They remain supportive of one another and on good terms.”

If you need any more proof of their amicable dynamic, look no further than Aaron’s Instagram. Last week, he seemed to hint at big changes in his life by saying, “I’m thankful for all the highs and lows this year and the growth opportunities on and off the field. Thank you for all the love and support.”

Aaron Rodgers, Shailene Woodley reportedly call it quits

Getty Images

On the surface, we shouldn’t care whether or not Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley have parted ways. At a deeper level, it has some football relevance.

The fact that Woodley owns a house in Boulder, Colorado had been viewed as a factor pointing to Rodgers potentially choosing to play for the Broncos. The recent hiring of Nathanial Hackett by the Broncos could counter the Rodgers-Woodley split. However, to the extent that the Woodley connection made the attraction to Denver even stronger, it’s no longer relevant.

Celebrity publications like In Touch contend that Rodgers “put football first,” that neither Rodgers nor Woodley were happy, and that Rodgers got “cold feet” as the wedding day approached.

When it comes to football, Rodgers said last week he’ll take some time over the next few weeks to do some thinking, and that he’ll then make a decision “pretty quick.” The Broncos continue to be regarded as a viable potential destination. Other teams to watch include, in our view, the Steelers, Buccaneers, 49ers, Titans, and maybe even the Colts.

Meanwhile, Rodgers will reclaim his status as the NFL’s most eligible bachelor, after cycling through relationships with Olivia Munn, Danica Patrick, and Woodley.

Shailene Woodley brags about Aaron Rodgers’ amid COVID drama

Shailene Woodley bizarrely bragged about how well she knows fiancé Aaron Rodgers’ body — including his nether regions — while shaming an innocent man who was inaccurately ID’d as the NFL player.

The “Big Little Lies” actress took to social media Tuesday to slam Daily Mail for misidentifying the Green Bay Packers quarterback in photos, blasting the outlet for “grasping at straws to disparage Aaron” amid backlash over his COVID-19 vaccine statements.

Woodley, 29, posted screenshots from the story and drew a circle around the mystery man’s feet and added three pink arrows pointing to them.

“i know aaron’s body. VERY well. first off, his feet, ahem and no offense to this rando dude, are a LOT bigger. ;).”

Woodley called it “straight up HILARIOUS” that paparazzi are “finding random f–king men on the streets of la and saying it’s him.”

Woodley alluded to Rodgers’ penis size, saying his feet are actually bigger than the misidentified man’s.

“literally y’all need to calm the f–k down,” she added.

The “Fault in Our Stars” actress didn’t stop there. She next pointed out the fact that the innocent bystander had bald hands.

The “Fault in Our Stars” actress attempted to defend the quarterback by calling out the innocent bystander on her Instagram Story.

“also, for those of us who know aaron beyond the worlds of obsessed sport and s–tty media, it’s no secret he has the hairiest hands on the f–king planet. this oblivious homie, clearly, does not. (go ahead, zoom in),” she wrote over a second Instagram Story slide.

Lastly, Woodley went after the man’s car, which obviously was not good enough for Rodgers.

Woodley even mocked the man’s car, saying Rodgers “would never” drive those wheels.
Instagram

“also, cute car dude, but aaron would never drive this,” she added.

All of this appears to be “The Spectacular Now” actress’ attempt to defend Rodgers, 37, as he continues to take heat for saying he was “immunized” for COVID when he was never vaccinated at all.

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley — seen here on vacation with Miles Teller and his wife earlier this year — confirmed their engagement in February.

Woodley previously took a more subtle defense of her fiancé by posting a cryptic comment on Instagram.

“Calm Seas May Bring You Peace, But Storms Are Where You’ll Find Your Power,” read a quote Woodley shared.

Shailene Woodley slams media in midst of Aaron Rodgers controversy

Rodgers, who is the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, has attracted criticism following the revelation that he had contracted Covid-19 after he had earlier said during a press conference he was “immunized.”

He later explained that he has not been vaccinated.

Woodley had shared on the stories portion of her verified Instagram account a drawing of a woman appearing to arise from waves with a moon in the background and the words “Calm seas may bring you peace. But storms are where you’ll find your power.”

The “Big Little Lies” star later posted another story with a statement that began “Just read somewhere that the media is claiming I deleted an Insta story amid the ‘chaos.’ (An astrology post of all things) (not cryptic at all you dummies.)”

“Do you even know how stories work brah? They self-delete after 24 hours,” she wrote. “Literally lol’ing over here over your determination to make a story out of nothing. Grasping at straws my dears.”

Instagram stories are a feature on the social media site where postings only appear for 24 hours.

Woodley confirmed in February that she and Rodgers had quietly gotten engaged. She has not shared her vaccination status.

Time away from Shailene Woodley will be good

They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, which appears to be the case for Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley.

The quarterback is gearing up for another season with the Green Bay Packers and thinks spending time away from the Los Angeles-based actress will be a “good thing.”

“It’s a busy work time for her, so [my decision] probably came at a good time for both of us to be able to focus on our work,” Rodgers told Haute Living in an interview published Thursday.

“I think it’s going to be a good thing. I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year [during the coronavirus pandemic], and she’s booked a number of projects. She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too.”

Their inevitable separation during the 2021 football season may explain why the “Big Little Lies” star, 29, and Rodgers, 37, are in “no rush” to start planning their wedding.

“There’s no wedding planning happening,” Woodley told “Entertainment Tonight” in July. “There’s no rush. We’ve got no rush.”

The “Divergent” star added that they’re simply “enjoying” spending time together and being engaged.

The couple confirmed their engagement in February.
TheImageDirect.com

The couple first sparked dating rumors last summer, but the NFL star didn’t announce he was engaged until February — and even then, he didn’t name Woodley as his fiancée.

Woodley ultimately confirmed on “The Tonight Show” that she was Rodgers’ mysterious bride-to-be shortly after he revealed he was off the market.

“For us, it’s not new news, so it’s kind of funny everybody right now is freaking out over it,” she said at the time. “We’re like, ‘Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while.’”
