Savvy PS5, PS4 Users Stocking Up on PS Now Subs to Convert into PS Plus Premium
Shrewd PlayStation 5 and PS4 owners are currently stocking up on PS Now memberships to save significant cash when the service is rolled into PS Plus in June 2022. PS Now subscribers will be automatically upgraded to PS Plus Premium members when the change happens, with the top tier costing £99.99/$119.99. However, a loophole in the PS webstore is allowing users to claim a one-year membership to PS Now at the standard price of £49.99/$59.99, which is half of what PS Plus Premium will cost. Users are then stocking up on one-year subscriptions to save money in the long run.
Spotted by Wario64 and then documented on ResetEra, posters have revealed how they’re stacking their PS Now subscription for up to six years, meaning they’ll have PS Plus Premium for just as long starting in June. What makes this significant is that the standard PS Store on PS5 and PS4 only offers one-month trials to PS Now, so this loophole is saving users a lot of money. PS Now subscription cards have also been removed from retail stores, squashing any way of getting a yearly membership through the usual channels.

And if you’re from the UK, you can use this link. You must do this through a PC and you have to be logged into your account for the purchase to appear — otherwise, you’ll be sent to a screen that simply reads “not available for purchase”. If it works, a box will appear on the righthand side of your screen with a “recurring subscription payment” tab for a 12-month subscription to PS Now. Repeat this process as many times as you like to stock up on years of PS Plus Premium.

Chris Christie Says What We’re All Thinking Of Trump Calling Putin ‘Savvy’
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) lambasted Donald Trump’s praise of the Russian invasion of Ukraine last week, saying history was watching despite the former president’s repeated comments about Vladimir Putin being a “genius” who had been “smart” about the ruthless assault.
“How can anyone with any understanding of the world call Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine ‘genius’ and ‘very savvy’ as we watch him unite the rest of the world against Russia in nearly an instant?” Christie asked Monday on Twitter. He went on to say that Putin has two choices now: an “unwinnable occupation of Ukraine” or a “humiliating retreat.”
“Yeah, that’s ‘genius’ and ‘very savvy’ alright,” Christie wrote.
His comments, a direct attack on Trump, came after the former president dubbed Putin’s initial description of his invading Russian forces as peacekeepers a “genius” move. Meanwhile, most of rest of the world was condemning the Kremlin’s actions.
“So, Putin is now saying, ‘It’s independent.’ A large section of Ukraine. I said, ‘How smart is that?’ And he’s going to go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s the strongest peace force,” Trump said on a right-wing radio program. “We could use that on our southern border.”
“That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen,” Trump added on the radio show. “They’re going to keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy.”
Trump defended those remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference this weekend, saying that, although the attack was “appalling,” Putin was “smart” and the “real problem is that our leaders are dumb.”
“So sad,” Trump said Saturday at CPAC. “Putin is playing Biden like a drum, and it’s not a pretty thing, as somebody that loves our country, to watch.”
His statements about an invading world leader are remarkable even for Trump, who was known for his fondness of Putin during his four years in the White House, going so far as to ask Russia to hack his 2016 Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, to gain access to her emails.

Donald Trump has hailed Russian President Vladimir Putin as “savvy” and called his move on Ukraine “genius” in a new interview.
Mr Putin’s steps towards a possible full-on invasion of Ukraine have seen a number of Republicans seeking to blame the crisis on Joe Biden, arguing that Russia did not invade any countries while Mr Trump was president – despite the fact that he repeatedly sided with Mr Putin over the US’s military and intelligence agencies, disdained Nato, and attempted to extort the Ukrainian government into investigating the Biden family.
Mr Trump initially broke his silence on the Russia-Ukraine crisis on Tuesday morning through a tweet posted by his spokesperson in which he claimed that his relationship with Putin would have prevented the crisis.
The former president saw another defeat in his effort to stymie the 6 January Select Committee’s investigation into the causes and events of the Capitol riot. The Supreme Court has rejected a request from the former president to review the panel’s demand that his records be handed over. He has now several times been defeated in his claims that papers from his time in the White House are covered by “executive privilege” and should not be released to the investigation.
On Tuesday afternoon a judge heard an oral argument relating to the longrunning E Jean Carroll vs Donald Trump case, in which Ms Carroll is suing Mr Trump for defamation.

A federal judge sparred with former president Donald Trump’s legal team over his attempt to countersue E Jean Carroll, the journalist who has sued him for defamation.
Ms Carroll has alleged that Mr Trump raped her in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in the mid-1990s. The former president has denied the allegations.
Representing Ms Carroll, Roberta Kaplan said her client is keen to proceed with fact-finding regarding the case: “We’d like to get on with discovery. We do not seek to depose President Trump.”
“And we’d like his DNA,” she added, repeating a request previously made at an earlier stage of the case.

Republicans slam Trump for praising Putin amid Ukraine crisis
Republican leaders on Tuesday slammed former president Donald Trump after he hailed Russian president Vladimir Putin as “savvy” and called his move on Ukraine “genius”.
Rep Liz Cheney on Tuesday said: “Former President Trump’s adulation of Putin today – including calling him a “genius” – aids our enemies”.
“Trump’s interests don’t seem to align with the interests of the United States of America,” she added.
House Republicans tweeted an image of Mr Biden walking away with a caption: “This is what weakness on the world stage looks like.”
Retweeting the post, Rep Adam Kinzinger condemned the “damn awful tweet during the crisis”.
“You can criticize policy but this is insane and feeds into Putin’s narrative. But hey, retweets amirite,” he added.

Supreme Court denies Trump bid to review Jan 6 documents
The Supreme Court has denied a request by former president Donald Trump to review his White House records related to the Capitol insurrection on 6 January of last year.
The court made the announcement on Tuesday in a list of orders on pending cases. Mr Trump had requested a writ of writ of certiorari in a case against Rep Bennie Thompson, who serves as chairman of the House select committee investigating the riot.
“The petition for a writ of certiorari is denied,” the court wrote.

Six ‘Tech Savvy’ Minors Identified as Persons of Interest in HBCU Bomb Threats – NBC4 Washington
What to Know
- Federal officials have identified six persons of interest in bomb threats that targeted historically Black colleges and universities throughout the United States.
- Howard University was ordered to shelter in place early Tuesday due to a bomb threat. D.C. police later gave the “all clear” for the campus.

The FBI has identified six “tech savvy” juveniles as persons of interests in threats to historically Black colleges and universities on Tuesday, the first day of Black History Month.
Howard University and the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C., and Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, were among the schools that received threats. They came just a day after a rash of bomb threats to HBCUs in the United States.
A law enforcement official said the FBI has identified six persons of interest around the country, all juveniles, who are suspected of making the threats. The official said they appear to be “tech savvy,” using sophisticated methods to try to disguise the source of the threats, which appear to have a racist motivation.
Bowie State University and Howard University are among at least six historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States targeted by bomb threats Monday. Prince George’s County Bureau Chief Tracee Wilkins reports.
The bomb threat was made about 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, Howard University said.
“A bomb threat against the university is being investigated. All persons on campus are advised to shelter in place until more information is available,” an alert from the university said. Further details on the alleged bomb threat were not immediately available.
A short time later, D.C. police and university police investigated a bomb threat to UDC’s campus in the Van Ness neighborhood, the school said. Officers shut down streets including the 4200 block of Connecticut Avenue NW and part of Van Ness Street NW, but the campus was opened after the investigation didn’t find anything.
Morgan State University canceled in-person classes due to the threat.
“Access to campus will be closed as the University works with emergency personnel to assess the situation. Everyone on campus should shelter in place until further notice,” Morgan State officials said.
Coppin State University, also in Baltimore, also moved classes online Tuesday due to “a campus emergency,” the school said.
Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida, and Fort Valley State University in Georgia were among more than a dozen HBCU campuses threatened nationwide, NBC News reported.
Howard University and Bowie State University in Maryland were among at least six HBCUs were targeted by bomb threats Monday. Bowie State students were preparing to return to campus Tuesday after officials moved classes online due to the threat on Monday.
Howard University said in a letter to the community that several HBCUs have been subject to threats in recent weeks. The school says it coordinates with D.C. police and federal agencies to investigate threats.
Feds Looking into Bomb Threats to HBCUs
The bomb threats Monday prompted a federal response. The FBI “is aware of bomb threats received by some Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” the agency said in a statement. “The FBI takes all potential threats seriously, and we regularly work with our law enforcement partners to determine their credibility.”
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to the threats on Monday and was working with local law enforcement to continue investigating, Acting Deputy Director Thomas Chittum said.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that the threats “are certainly disturbing, and the White House is in touch with the interagency partners, including federal law enforcement leadership on this.“
“We’re relieved to hear that Howard and Bethune-Cookman universities have been given the all-clear, and will continue to monitor these reports,” Psaki said. “The president is aware — I don’t believe he’s received the formal briefing — but he is aware of these reports.”
