Rumor Roundup: The Elite troll Punk, Thunder Rosa return, Lashley, more!
Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, there are “people close to CM Punk” who were “not happy” with the trios match on Dynamite where The Elite trolled Punk in Chicago.
- F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez claims that even though it looked like Bobby Lashley turned heel earlier this month, he is listed in the babyface column on WWE’s internal roster.
- Alvarez shot down the rumor that William Regal is leaving AEW to go back to WWE. Speculation spread about Regal’s future after Jon Moxley told Regal to leave and never come back on Dynamite. Alvarez stated that Regal is “gonna be back” and “this was not him leaving AEW.”
- Meltzer indicated that Thunder Rosa is expected to be back in AEW around February.
- He added that AEW’s mentality is to use an interim title if the champion is expected to be out “a few months.” But if the champion is going to be out six months or longer, they won’t use an interim title.
- Per Fightful Select, Scorpio Sky has been cleared to return to the ring for “quite some time,” but AEW creative has nothing for him.

Thunder Rosa responds after being stripped of the AEW women’s world championship
Last night’s (Nov. 23) episode of Dynamite included the surprising news that Tony Khan decided to strip Thunder Rosa of the AEW women’s world championship. He also retroactively removed the “interim” label that has been in use for the women’s champions ever since Rosa took a leave of absence from AEW in August due to injury.
While most of AEW’s backstage drama over the last few months has centered around CM Punk and The Elite, Rosa has also been a lightning rod at times, with accusations of working stiff and sandbagging her opponents in the ring. There were even rumors that she had heat backstage for not dropping the AEW women’s title to someone else on the roster before taking time off.
With all of that in mind, Rosa kept things civil and respectful when she reacted to the news that she is no longer the AEW women’s world champion:

Abby De La Rosa says Nick Cannon is creating ‘Gen C’ after baby news
Taking it lightly.
Abby De La Rosa joked that Nick Cannon is single-handedly populating the next generation after he revealed Brittany Bell is pregnant with their third child (his tenth).
Taking to social media, the mom of two of Cannon’s kids shared a Brian Moller video that poked fun at her baby daddy for getting multiple women pregnant at the same.
“They could take on the Kardashians for world supremacy,” the comedian said in his video. “And they said millennials aren’t having kids. They’re not, Nick’s having them all!”
De La Rosa — who is also pregnant — wrote via Instagram Story, “Move over Kardashians, Gen ‘C’ taking over babyyyy.”
Two months ago, the 31-year-old DJ revealed she was expecting baby No. 3 just one year after welcoming twin sons, Zion and Zillion on June 16, 2021, with Cannon.
Despite De La Rosa not confirming that Cannon is the father of her unborn child, he previously said it was “safe to bet” he would be welcoming three new babies to his family.
The “Wild ‘N Out” star is also dad to 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey, 5-year-old son Golden “Sagon” and 1-year-old daughter Powerful Queen with Bell.
His 5-month-old son Zen, whose mother is model Alyssa Scott, died of brain cancer in December. And, in July, he welcomed his eighth child, Legendary, with Bre Tiesi.
Just yesterday, Cannon revealed that he was expecting his tenth child with Bell by sharing a behind-the-scenes look at their maternity shoot.
“Time Stopped and This Happened. #Sunshine #SonRISE,” the former Nickelodeon star wrote as the video showed him cradling Bell’s bump while they laughed.
The former beauty queen posed topless in the photos, sporting a white skirt with her baby bump on display. Later in the shoot, she rocked an unbuttoned coat.
Trevor Noah Drags Anti-Masker Who Wore a Red Thong on His Head and Compared Himself to Rosa Parks
On Thursday night, The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah took aim at a particularly absurd example of anti-mask protest.
“While we are being reminded about just how serious this pandemic is, there are still some people who are taking it just a little more lightly,” announced Noah.
He then introduced a man named Adam Jenne from Cape Coral—yes, in Florida—who decided to mask up on a recent United Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport by wearing red thong underwear on his head (women’s to boot). He was subsequently kicked off the plane and banned from future United Airlines flights.
In a video he posted online after the ridiculous episode, Jenne said he’d worn underwear on his head as a mask since the beginning of the pandemic and even compared himself to Rosa Parks.
“Rosa Parks? My man, don’t be so modest! You’re more than Rosa Parks! If anything, you’re the Martin Luther King of white dudes comparing themselves to Black heroes for no reason. Shit!” exclaimed Noah, adding, “You know, for real, sometimes I think conservatives are right: America shouldn’t be teaching the history of racism in schools, because then at least white people wouldn’t know who to compare themselves to after they get kicked off of airplanes for doing dumb shit.”
The comedian then suggested that maybe Jenne just has a kink for wearing panties on his head and has used the pandemic as a convenient excuse to explain away his bizarre behavior.
“And by the way, can we all agree there’s no way this dude just started sniffing thongs during the pandemic?” asked Noah. “I bet he’s been going around for years like, ‘Well, looks like I got kicked out of the dorm because I’m once again the Rosa Parks of my sister’s friends’ underwear drawer! Yeah, someone’s gotta do it!’”
Santa Rosa at 176% of normal rainfall for this time of year
A band of moisture passed over the San Francisco Bay Area on Wednesday night, bringing showery weather across the region.
A prior system and the lingering showers added up to some rainfall totals that are impressive for mid-October, often a dry month in Northern California.
The National Weather Service said its downtown San Francisco gauge recorded 0.21 inches, and the Oakland gauge 0.11 inches from 5 to 8 p.m.
“It really beefed up when it arrived onshore,” Ryan Walbrun, a forecaster with the weather service, said of the band of moisture that reached San Francisco this evening.
The weather service also noted that in the North Bay, Santa Rosa was running 176% of normal rainfall for the water year that started Oct. 1.
The Santa Rosa Airport recorded 1.41 inches from Oct. 1-20; the normal total for this timeframe is 0.8 inches.
The Bay Area is in the middle of a wet spell, with two weak storms expected to hit the region Thursday night and Saturday night, before a potent atmospheric river delivers a soaking Sunday into Monday. Walbrun said Wednesday night that it remained unclear exactly where the big storm will dump the most rain.
“There’s still uncertainty in where the heaviest bands are going to line up,” Walbrun said. “What’s showing a strong signal is the amount of water vapor that will be possible out of this thing. The worst-case scenarios would be if it stalled somewhere. I think for the Bay Area, this is going to be a beneficial rain. We don’t have the burn scars that some of the other areas have. To get some October rains like this is a good thing overall.”
