Seth Rogen and Chelsea Handler roast Kim Kardashian for skipping THR event

Seth Rogen and Chelsea Handler didn’t hold back as they playfully roasted Kim Kardashian for skipping out on The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast on Wednesday.

Rogen, 40, launched into a funny tirade about Kim having nothing ‘more important to do’ than attend the star-studded event, while Handler, 47, took a jab at Kim’s Marilyn Monroe dress controversy.

A source told TMZ that the ‘wrong event date was given to Kim’s team several weeks ago’ which caused a scheduling conflict.

Roasted: Seth Rogen and Chelsea Handler didn’t hold back as they playfully roasted Kim Kardashian for skipping out on The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast on Wednesday; Kim seen in November

‘The error was realized only on Monday and unfortunately, her schedule could not be moved around at the last minute due to a prior work commitment,’ the insider continued. ‘She was incredibly disappointed to not be able to attend since she never cancels.’

Rogen kicked off his monologue by asking: ‘Are we going to talk about how Kim Kardashian didn’t show up?

‘I have seen every episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians I know she doesn’t have anything more important to do than this,’ he told the crowd sarcastically.

‘I’ve seen 100,000 hours of her. I know she’s not doing anything more important than this. This would be the climax of the show. What is she doing?’

The place to be: Rogen, 40, launched into a funny tirade about Kim having nothing ‘more important to do’ than attend the star-studded event

Ouch! Handler, 47, took a jab at Kim’s Marilyn Monroe dress controversy

Reigning himself in, Rogen alluded to Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West’s recent anti-Semitic tirades and all around problematic behavior that’s most likely affecting the star.

‘Honestly, she’s probably dealing with a lot right now,’ he said before presenting Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron with the coveted Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.

Next up was Chelsea Handler, who started off her speech by addressing those in the crowd who wondered if the ‘extra security outside was for Kim Kardashian.’

Avid watcher: ‘I’ve seen 100,000 hours of her. I know she’s not doing anything more important than this. This would be the climax of the show. What is she doing?’ Rogen continued; Kim seen in the recent season of Hulu’s The Kardashians

She jokingly clarified that the beefed up security had actually ‘showed up because I am wearing Marilyn Monroe’s DivaCup.’

It was direct jab at Kim’s choice to wear an actual dress donned by the late Hollywood Icon to this year’s Met Gala.

The mother-of-four lost 16LBS in order to fit into the gown that was made specifically for Marilyn by designer Bob Mackie in 1962.

The Seven Year Itch actress – who tragically passed away at age 36 from a drug overdose – famously wore it while singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to then-President John F. Kennedy.

Many criticized Kim for borrowing the dress from Ripley’s Believe It or Not instead of replicating it.

But in fact, Kim had only walked the red carpet in the original and changed into a replica for the party.

Not the case: Next up was Chelsea Handler, who started off her speech by addressing those in the crowd who wondered if the ‘extra security outside was for Kim Kardashian’

It was also rumored that she’d ruined the dress, but that was later debunked.

In season two of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kim said that she expected the backlash but still decided to go through with the stunt.

‘I’m a little nervous some people will hate, and just be like, “How dare she think she can step into Marilyn’s dress,”‘ said Kim, adding: ‘And I get that.’

Other notable honorees included: Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Angela Bassett and Reese Witherspoon.

John Oliver Returns to Brutally Roast Josh Hawley Over Jan. 6 Fleeing Video

Following a month-long absence—and two Emmy nominations—John Oliver returned to the desk of Last Week Tonight on Sunday to excoriate the grifters and clowns of the week.

When we last saw him, Oliver was going after Democratic leadership for their lackluster response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reciting a poem and one House representative doing yoga in his office.

This week’s edition saw Oliver take on Josh Hawley, the ineffectual GOP Missouri senator who pumped his fist at the Jan. 6 insurrectionists to rile them up. On Thursday, the House Jan. 6 committee revealed footage of Hawley running for safety when the people he incited that day stormed the Capitol.

“That is painfully embarrassing,” exclaimed a giddy Oliver. “That is the gait of a man who has either just gassed up an insurrection that is now bearing down on top of him or just drank a large iced coffee 45 minutes ago. Either way, those legs scream: I’ve made a huge mistake.”

Former D.C. police officer Michael Fanone, who was injured by the insurrectionists on Jan. 6, said of the Hawley video, “The first thoughts that popped into my mind was, ‘Josh Hawley is a bitch. And he ran like a bitch.’”

“Now, I personally would not say that. I’d say Josh Hawley is a bitch who ran like a chihuahua desperately trying to keep up with its owner on a casual walk. But you know what? To each their own.”

US energy producers roast Biden for demanding companies to lower gas prices

The U.S. Oil & Gas Association took a hit at President Biden after he tweeted on Saturday that “companies running gas stations” should simply “bring down the price you are charging at the pump,” telling him that he should “please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester.”

“Working on it Mr. President. In the meantime – have a Happy 4th and please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester…,” the tweeted.

On Sunday, Biden tweeted that “companies running gas stations” should take note that “this is a time of war and global peril.”

“My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril,” Biden tweeted on Saturday. “Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.”

Biden’s tweet comes as gas prices are averaging at $4.812 nationwide, which is up 5 cents from one month ago. In some states, however, prices are much higher.

In California, the average price per gallon of gas is $6.244 and in Illinois, it’s $5.325.

Biden has attempted to deflect blame for the increase in gas prices to Russian President Vladimir Putin, dubbing it the “Putin’s Price Hike,” a term used repeatedly by the White House, despite his campaign promise to always take responsibility and not blame others.

The call for action from Biden follows a failed proposal from the Oval Office to implement a 90-day gas tax holiday, which was dismissed by even Democratic lawmakers as outlandish.

During the presidential campaign, Biden vowed to sacrifice the energy boom, low prices, and even jobs for the sake of his green agenda.

In the December 2019 Democratic debate, moderator Tim Alberta asked: “Three consecutive American presidents have enjoyed stints of explosive economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production. As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy?”

“The answer is yes,” the former vice president said.

Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, which would have delivered about 870,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada to Texas refineries, and “paused” oil and gas leases on federal lands during his first hours in office. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott recently warned of a discretionary Environmental Protection Agency rule that, if imposed, would raise gas prices even further.

“Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.” tweeted Biden.

Biden has veered between embracing high gas prices as the price of an “incredible transition” to a “green” economy, to blaming Vladimir Putin, to blaming energy producers, and now blaming gas station owners, who only make a few cents per gallon of gas they sell.

Victorious Warriors roast Boston fans with locker room chant

During the 2022 NBA Finals, Boston Celtics fans inside TD Garden made it clear that they did not think very highly of Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

After the Warriors closed out the series Thursday night and won their fourth title in eight years, the team gathered in the locker room for their victory celebration. Multiple beat writers present outside heard, well… you probably guessed it.

“Entire Warriors locker room is chanting ‘f— you, Draymond’ in champagne celebration right now,” The Athletic’s Anthony Slater shared.

The chants also prompted a fun game of seeing which beat writers censor their tweets (we at SFGATE are beholden to a style guide that is anti f-bomb, but perhaps one day that will change).

After Game 3, Green’s wife wrote in an Instagram post, “in NO WAY, shape or form should fans be allowed to chant obscenities at players!” Thompson said, “Dropping f-bombs with children in the crowd. Real classy. Good job, Boston.”

Meanwhile, Green himself shrugged it off.

“No, they just talking. Not really my job to react to them. They did what I expected.”

Fox cancels ‘New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2022’ telecast due to omicron surge

Fox has decided against moving forward with its “New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2022” production in New York due to the ongoing surge of Covid-19 and its omicron variant. The network announced its shift in plans on Tuesday evening.

“While we are confident in the health and safety protocols for ‘Fox’s New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2022,’ the recent velocity of the spread of Omicron cases has made it impossible to produce a live special in Times Square that meets our standards,” Fox Entertainment said in a statement.

“We will not be moving forward with ‘Fox’s New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2022’ in New York,” it said. “The health and safety of our casts and crews has always been, and will continue to be, of the utmost importance. Replacement programming for New Year’s Eve on Fox will be announced in the coming days.”

Joel McHale and Ken Jeong were set to co-host the program, alongside special correspondent Kelly Osbourne.

Musical performances by Billy Idol Imagine Dragons, P!nk, Maroon 5 and others were also on the books for the Dec. 31 telecast through a partnership with iHeartRadio.

It remains to be seen whether these names will still be attached to whatever type of production Fox decides to move forward with for its New Year’s Eve event.

With the cancellation, Fox becomes the first network to announce a major shift in its planned New Year’s Eve programming.

NBC is currently set to broadcast a Dec. 31 special from Miami hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson. ABC is also proceeding with its annual “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” event, with broadcasts from N.Y.’s Times Square, New Orleans, L.A. and Puerto Rico.

The “Quantico” actress, 39, took to social media again on Tuesday — this time to share a video clip of herself gracing the stage during Netflix’s “Jonas Brothers Family Roast.”

“I am honored and so thrilled actually, and tickled to be here tonight to roast my husband, Nick Jonas, and his brothers, whose names I can never remember,” Chopra said front and center, eliciting applause from the audience and an air kiss from the singer.

“Brought my husband and his brothers a nice roast for dinner,” Chopra captioned the video post in which she jokes that the Jonas Brothers “clearly” never made it big in her home country of India.

“Perks of being a Jonas,” she added in the caption.

Nick Jonas gets charred by Priyanka Chopra at Jonas Brothers Family Roast: ‘Wouldn’t want to babysit anyone else’

Not just comedians, even the wives got to roast the Jonas Brothers a bit too on the recently-released Jonas Brother Family Roast. The one-hour special was shared on Netflix on Tuesday afternoon.

Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas all took turns to roast their husband Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas respectively. Priyanka did not leave any opportunity to take aim at Nick, be it about their age gap or how much more popular she is on Instagram than the others.

Addressing their age gap, Priyanka Chopra said, “Nick and I have a 10-year age gap. There are many 90s pop culture references he doesn’t understand and I have to explain it to him. He showed me how to use Tik Tok for example. You know, and I showed him what a successful acting career looks like.” Her dig left the audience roaring.

She also mentioned how her following on Instagram is much higher than the brothers. “Have you noticed how much content the Jonas Brothers post online? They are always on Instagram, always on their phone. It’s so cute. I’ll tell you why. Because all of them combined still have less followers than me. So I guess the most popular Jonas is @priyankachopra on Instagram,” she said. Priyanka has 70 million followers on Instagram and is the second most followed Indian in the world after Virat Kohli.

“Since we got married, people questioned out marriage. ‘Ah it’s a publicity stunt. How could it be? I didn’t even know how famous Nick was. All I knew that he was Kevin Jonas’ baby brother,” she said.

She even cracked a joke about how she’d not be married to anyone else than Nick, “Unless of course, Chris Hemsworth suddenly became single.”

Priyanka also shocked Nick and the audience a bit with an almost-pregnancy announcement. “We’re the only couple who doesn’t have kids yet,” she said, referring to Kevin-Danielle who have two daughters and Joe-Sophie, who also have a daughter. “Which is why I am excited to make this announcement. Sorry baby. Nick and I are expecting…to get drunk tonight and sleep in tomorrow,” she said as Nick breathed a sigh of relief.

Wrapping it all up, Priyanka confessed her love for Nick but not without another punchline. “I wouldn’t want to babysit, I mean be married to someone else,” she said as Nick left his seat to give her a kiss and a hug.

The roast also features comedians Kenan Thompson, Lilly Singh, Pete Davidson and Jack Whitehall. John Legend, Niall Horan and Dr Phil joined them too.
